i became a muslim 3years ago mostly from watching his videos...he was the first person from where i started learning about Islam...after the Quran... he is a really great man,may Allah bless him and the work he does...

Islam is a powerful religion with more than 1.8 billion followers a faith that continues to grow despite the best efforts of its opponents to crush it and despite the stupidity of Muslim extremists who dishonour Islam with their brutality Islam will not be harmed by any film, book or any invading army Indeed the foolishness of those who seek to denigrate Prophet (PBUH) in this fashion is that their work simply inspires more people to learn about the man who founded humanitys 2nd largest religion
I wish all muslims start thinking with logic and common sense that Hamza Yusuf is dispersing, to not just the muslims but the whole world. Alhamdolillah, that people like him are still carrying the light of Islam in terms of Quran the kitabul fikr.

I too have adopted this religion, and know within my being it to be the indisputable truth from our creator, but like yourself I am constantly baffled at the behaviors and reactions of people who are born Muslim. It is becoming so difficult to walk proud as I did when I first embraced, my tears flow as I am writing these words because I feel that our prophet (pbuh), although persecuted during his time would not condone what is happening today. This NEEDS to be translated to other languages, absolutely amazing!
Its not a question of elevating ourselves above human nature but evevating our human nature. There is a difference- quite an important one.

Amazing, Hamza Yusuf sometimes states things which are so deep, it sometimes just pass over your head. Really need contemplate what he is saying.

Shaik Hamza, Allah forgive you..You mentioned in min18 that an arrogant Muslim leader killed the ambassadors of Mongols, you meant the leader Qutuz..this leader saw a big droop from his minsters and assistants, and that's why he killed the ambassadors(who were very arrogant by the way),but Qutuz showed to his people that there was no retreat at this point so he could have definitely encouraged all his people to fight the enemy.Anyway that was Qutuz's opinion which scholars respect .

Salaam It is regrettable that instead, of looking at this issue in a different light, we are being told how we should feel when we are being kicked. I am sure if our mother, wife, brother and so on were to be insulted we would react differently. I do not condone violence, but enough turning it onto the muslim themselves.
