My family always played cards and taught us early on. Every holiday was poker. We also played Pinochle. Spades was my game. I’m very good at it and rarely lose. The cards look so good.
I love this set and your cute cards! My husband and I have played cards since before we were married in 1971. We have played pinochle, bridge, canasta, Oh Hell, spades, hearts, golf, pitch and poker and I am sure I am forgetting a game or two! This set would be great for me. We had two boys so we spent a lot of time playing cards with them and now with their wives and our grandkids ( mainly Uno with the youngest). Your folks sound like they are fun people!
Cute cards Kelly, I didn't get my first laptop ( a Dell) until Christmas 2003 from my mom when I was 21. But My first Desktop was a AST at 12 from Circuit City right after my dad passed in 1995 and remember playing minesweeper and solitaire and remember the fish design on the back of the solitaire cards. When I'd get to go to work with my dad(he worked for the State of California. Mom was a CNA so couldn'tgo to work with her), his coworkers two of which I'm still close to would set me up on one of the office's computers and I'd play Wheel of Fortune and Concentration. I'd be taken down to the little snack bar that was directly under the office ( which was in a business park five minutes from where I live now)
Love the cards & dies set! This one is already in my wishlist ☺️. My Mom, who is celebrating her 90th birthday on the 7th, LOVES all games of chances. Her favorite treat is to be taken to the casino. The slot machines have been good to her the last few visits.
My mother is 91 and she loves casino slots too ! I used to take her once a month. She can’t travel anymore so I mail scratch off tickets once or twice a week. She sounds just like my mother ❤ Enjoy taking her while you can!
My son and a few of his close friends are VERY good at math and science (bla!). He and his friends were thrown out of a couple of nearby casinos as they were "counting cards". I have NO idea how it's done. I have to use my fingers to add (rofl)!!! "Blackjack" (21) is my favorite too!!! So fun! Have a good one!
Back in the 70’s as a young married couple we played lots of cards with our friends, Pinochle, and a game called Tripoly. Love you cards, brings back happy memories.
Very cute cards! Your family would love playing Ready, Set, Bet, the board game from AEG. It's roulette meets horse racing. Betting but no real gambling. Sorry if I sent you this before.
So much fun! Also enjoying the tunes quite a bit! I’m too cheap to gamble much, but if I’m going to do it, it’s going to be Black Jack. I’ll set aside a certain amount of $ and see how long i can play with it (& any winnings). I don’t bet big so i can’t win big, but i have a great time. Then i figure out how many hours i was entertained - and it’s always been worth my initial investment! There’s something so fun and nostalgic about playing cards. Thanks Kelly - i bet (no pun intended) that your Dad & whoever gets the cards will thoroughly enjoy them! ♦️♣️❤️♠️
Those are awesome 🎉 How much fun your family is 👏👏👏❤❤It's always interesting learning how other families are. Our family used to play rummy when I was a kid now for many years Scrabble matches among teams at family holidays has been a thing. 😂😂😂❤
It’s great that you show your experiments. TBH I’d colour with copics then clear emboss over the top to try to get a solid metallic look if I didn’’t have the right colour of metallic embossing powder, just to get rid of the white streaks.
So does the industry, as a whole, decide on a theme for their releases? I notice a lot of gaming is out right now. Super cute cards!! Thank you for sharing.
You should try Gina K Designs white poly glaze sheets for foiling with a laminator. It works great and is super easy. Could also use Thermo Web toner sheets for foiling with a laminator. It also works great and is super easy.
Kelly; What's the spread? What a hoot! It makes me laugh! With us it was college football and basketball! This was back in the day when one had to have a membership to get into a club that served alcohol (showing my age)!!! There was one certain bar where only "known" people could get in and make bets with the bookie! Oh my, those were the days! Your cards are great and I really love the story/idea behind them. With that being said, I'm a big fan of the cards but I'm SO disappointed with the paper, layering plaid (no matter who I've seen make the cards). It's SO "chunky" and I don't see plaid at all. Stencils would create a definitive plaid. All my opinion of course!
😂😂The way I cackled at What's the Spread! Heard every Sunday and Monday at my house when I was a child. My dad never bet basketball unless it was March Madness lol. If you haven't yet you way want to check out the Royal Flush Stamp Set (bit.ly/42AUJpF) It has three different card backs, and one of them is a thinner plaid. The stencil is a great idea though and they have a couple of good ones for card back designs for only around $1.50 in their sale section ( bit.ly/3Zcog5M) Hope that helps!

Kudos to you to deal with the multitude os small die pieces
I did solitaire and mine sweeper on our first computer
Such clever card ideas! Whenever our family gets together we play pinochle. I loved that you shuffled your little card deck!

Cool cards! Loved watching you shuffle them! 😂
I also loved the music you chose! These would be cool cards for my poker playing BIL!❤

My son learned to add playing blackjack.

Fantastic job!

Only use can make cardstock look like real poker chips. Loved your card and your thoughts on the foiling. Thanks so much.
