All guitars are recorded with a Solar A1.7C and with the STL Tones Tonality: Will Putney Plug-in Suite.
- Main rhythm sound is from the "Evergreen" album preset - instant Swedish death metal sound!
- Lead guitars are based on the "Sweet Lead" preset.
- Bass is programmed with Europas II bass VST by Submission Audio using the clean sound as base with the STL Tonality: Will Putney Plug-in Suite for the actual bass tone.
- Drums are programmed using the GGD Invasion kit with external processing.
- DAW used is Presonus Studio One 4
- Filmed with GoPro 7 and edited in Adobe Premiere Pro

Thank you so much! No, it should be tuned as the original. :) However, they recorded it with a 6 string guitar, so the sound is quite different from mine, I can agree. I might re-do this cover with my Grindstein pedal and see if I can get closer to the original sound 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻

@@johanlund yes and i think the "harder" way feels little more natural atleast for me 😃 i tend to play it like DUD D, DUD D, DUD D etc 😃 its a good down picking exercise. If played with consistent alternate picking the timing is maybe little harder but the picking is little easier.

Your guitar tone is super dirty, bassy, and rumbly more similar to djent than old melodeath but I like the way it sounds

@@johanlund yeah they really pushed the guitar sound of death metal forward. When sots was released death metal basically sounded like it was recorded in a spare beer can they had pulled out of the trash bin. Sots changed metal in a way that too few people appreciate fully
their tone was two metal zone pedals into the clean channel of a peavy amp😂🤦♂sounds crazy but apparently it works lol

Are these downstrokes or alternate picking in the beginning?
The triplets (of course, I'm not John Browne, hehe) and the notes on the 6th string are alternate. The rest is downstrokes 🤘🏻
@@johanlund Ok thanks man. That's the way I was playing it all those years too. But another guitarist that we're playing together in a band told me it's all downstrokes (although he's not able to play it hahah). I told him there's no way these are all downstrokes, even At the Gates guitarists play it with alternate on the sixth string. Awesome cover by the way.
