- This was not really what I had planned to put out this week but it was a project of need! Was cleaning up the garage and had enough of my current extension cord storage....came up with a solution, check it out!
This build also happens to be out of scrap which was a challenge put out to us woodworking RUclipsrs this week, make something from our scrap bin!
Have a free 1:1 template on my website that you can print and use to cut out your own. I printed this used a purchased program from Matthias Wandel called BigPrint, its epic. You should get out his channel, he has really good content.

Always best to make yourself and you'll have it a lifetime!
I should have read my Kreg instruction booklet...I didn't know there were songs in there! I thought I saw some little purple feet hanging out with you. Thanks for providing the plan. These would also great for musicians and mic/speaker cables. You have impeccable timing Tyler! ;)
Steve Carmichael Apparently Kreg has some good tunes if you look close! Thanks for sharing Steve.
Great project! Can't tell you how many times I've thrown cable across the shop in a rage! Loved the Kreg Jig Hymn Book too! Awesome.
Carpentrius Thanks! She was having a blast in her little corner!
Very good idea. Your daughter is cute. Keep the videos coming.
Marc Eaton Thanks Marc, lot of good stuff on the way!
: D ur daughter is sooo adorable. Loved that you included that. Great project too! These will make great gifts for my male co-workers.
Thanks April Wilkerson She LOVES to go in the workshop with me, is sad when I kick her out when I use the "dusty" tools. Have to make a huge batch of these for our Christmas lights, gonna use carpet tape, stack em up and go to town!
Definitely got to make this, Thanks Tyler
***** It is handy! Thanks for sharing Sterling.
Cool and useful project
John Turner Thanks John. Is a way better solution to what we had laying around!
Would be a great fundraiser/project for a high school shop class. Crank them out just before Christmas.
Great idea Rod! Easy to batch these out.
brilliant! and thank you!!!!!
Handy scrap wood project. Nice backup singer for your video.:-)
WoodRodent Thanks! I don't know what I did without it for so long!
Great job, Tyler. I've been wanting to try out BigPrint. Looks like it worked well for you.
CMR Woodworks It is super handy. Have used it for several projects now, definitely worth it.
Good project, I could use a few myself. It really is not safe to wrap an extension cord around your arm if it is plugged in.
Skully Wood & Metal It sure is handy, going to make myself some more!
Now that you have one you can use it with a router and pattern bit and blast them off quick and easy.
Steve Schmor For sure....or blast them out on the X-Carve CNC that is on the way, but I understand that everybody doesn't have one of those sitting around. Wound up my cord using this two days ago and its great, need some more!
I wish I had a CNC. A manual one is in the works.
Steve Schmor Certainly more to be proud of in a Manual one!
how did you draw the diagram ?? and how did you print it ??
Arshad Siddiqi Drawn using Sketchup (formerly google sketchup, now trimble sketchup) and printed using Big Print from Matthias Wandel. Thanks for watching!
Good Morning Friend You Have A Video That Teaches Use this Progama that apliar the design and what and that progamar
I don't have a video but if you look up Jay Bates on youtube he has a series of videos to get you started. It's a program called sketchup and it't free.
Nice project Tyler, great idea for the Christmas lights too.
Carl Jacobson Thanks Carl. Need to make a nice batch of them for our Christmas lights!
Great idea I make some for my wife's lights !
I have just discovered your channel and really love it. You are so down to earth. No macho attitude. And I love your daughter singing. She is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Just saw this old video of yours.
You've come a long way brother.
Congrats to you and your family.
what a great way to keep your cords in order. And may I say...you are truly blessed with the cutest little girl. God bless you and keep the great videos coming
+Dan Conway Thanks Dan! Appreciate the binge watching man!!
Necessity is the mother of invention. How many woodworking tools were developed by filling a need?
That's awesome. Great job!
That was purely awesome! I loved your kid singing to Kreg instruction booklet and then noted that you were filming her, that look cracked me up! :)
Good video editing, short and to the point!
I also subscribed and added you to the list of participants!
