Is Pontins Prestatyn holiday park really that bad? let's find the positive & negatives

- So I'm sure pretty much every one has heard about the bad reputation Pontins has, but is it fair. Many people still holiday here every year and there must be a reason for that
This channel tries to focus n the positive side, so let's see what we find.
The next vlog will show hopefully show Pontins in a complete different format so please stay turned.

It closed yesterday. It’s so sad as it’s on a lovely piece of land right by a beautiful beach. Looking at how much was shut, it’s no surprise it’s closed. Well done for the positives you found. Cheers 🍻

I stayed here in July. The pool was open, golf, go karts, arcade. Used the canteen. xx
Hope you had a good stay. Maybe it was just unfortunate they were staff short whilst we were there?? How was the food? I have been told that the roller disco and skate ramps have been repaired and reopened so looks like come next year there will be even more to do 😊 thankyou for your comment its really appreciated. we took our two kid's back in '92 , '93 and 94 and it was great , what a shame to see it in that state . you'd have more fun doing a fortnight in HMP Strageways
It has so much potential but its as though no one thinks its there job to tidy the section they work on and maintenance must of been on strike for the past 10years as there is alot of repairs that need doing. No joke at one point they were thinking of using it as a prison, then more recently to house asylum seekera
I just come from there,I stayed the weekend,me and the family had a lovely time. We don't care if it was basic the entertainment was brilliant and you get what you pay for,had a great time will definitely go again

The price is definitely something that can't be argued with. The effects were clear st Easter as normally the area would be really busy but was quiet
I was a musician there in the summer season '84 (May till October including the Darts / Ballroom dancing and Snooker weeks. Such a shame to see this now. What a wonderful time we had there with the blues and around 4000 super guests every week. I worked in the Snowdonia Lounge situated on the 1st floor above reception. There was also a kids theatre there too and the Ent's office. The blues were summoned there every morning for inspection, cleanliness, presentation, and if anyone smelt of booze, they were grounded without pay for the day. That's all gone now obviously as the main entertainment bar (was called The Clwyd Bar now stinks of booze PERMANENTLY. There was no agitation, hassle, fights or anti social behaviour then and, as I said before, 4000 guests a week ! but I do see/hear the moaning whining kids are still prevalent🤨 ! I guess Great Britain and by the way, the Great British aren't so Great anymore, shame.
It does seem a different world there at the minute. Though the new management are trying to improve things, the skate park tent has now been fixed etc but the place is filthy and it doesn't seem to bother the guests xx

I've just come back and the skate park has been fully done and fixed and is now a roller disco open every few days and the go karts bouncy castles trampolines etc have opening times once or twice a day depending on popularity 10-12 then 1.30 to 4.30

spud watched it back yesterday and said virtually the same 😅🤣 my head is a sieve and forgot to put it on. Will have to dig it out. Hope it's worth the anticipation 😅🤣
It's very sad that people think that this is their level. Everyone, from whatever social class, address or intelligence deserves a decent experience for the money they pay for a holiday. Especially when you have to pay for your own electricity and bed linen in substandard, dirty chalets. It's a shame that people set their sights so low.
I agree every one deserves clean and maintained etc but I do think the place has potential if these standards were met as there is nothing wrong with basic 😊

I guess it was pretty bad as they've now closed it permanently which is really sad as generations of kids loved it .
It's not been put up for sale, and other companies had been interested but they still wouldn't sell. It did require money spent on it but was still hugely popular. It is really sad as like you say families will literally have generations of memories there and there are aliot of families who simply won't be able to go on holiday due to costs 😢
I have kids, and I wouldn't take them to pontins. They'd be so bored, no swimming, pretty much nothing else open. It may be cheap but it's not for us at all. Even if I was on my own I wouldn't go there. The derelict one in hemsby was nicer. I walked round it before it got knocked down lol

Years ago these places were brilliant , unfortunately like a lot of things lack of investment takes its toll. I hear that since filming alot of changes have happened so will return next year.can I be super cheeky andcask you to subscribe as it really helps the channel grow 😊
@@outandaboutwithus we currently take them to Haven parks and Butlins 😊 dream destination to take them would be Disney World in Orlando. I've also just heard that Pontins Camber Sands and Prestatyn are closing with immediate effect! I know you said you were going to go back and visit x
@CharlotteJanvier29 have you been to Presthaven? As its local to us. We are going to go down tomorrow to Pontins (we won't get in) to give everyone an update as there is a lot of speculation.
Orlando is amazing!!!!!!! Though we have never been to Disney yet, our son grew up with marvel so Universal was our destination.
Fingers crossed 🤞 you get to take your kids to Disney 😊

Was the big tent thing it was under fixed? There is a free skate park on the promenade in Rhyl you can use in the mean time
I’d be very disappointed if I turned up to stay there.
It's such a shame as the place has loads of potential with everything that is there but it really needs some tlc and a bloody good scrub
