I agree but I don’t think that’s the problem! The problem, for me , is that Stardom and New Japan makes it hard to watch their stuff ! They have amazing matches but it’s hard to even be able to watch them
Making Bianca a heel is such a power move you could tell she was actually into being booed and was playing to it a bit even pulled some of her old heel characteristics out. On top of that Iyo needs to be a solo star immediately 100% you could tell she got her confidence back and for the first time on the main roster showed what she’s capable of. And Wow Wow Wow Zelina Made me feel something I haven’t in wrestling for a long time that’s true passion and they better not drop the ball on her.

I don't think they finally officially turned completely on Bianca. But I think the Puerto Rican crowd was definitely behind IYO because they felt she was an underdog in this situation. At the end of the day, it was still slightly a mixed crowd, and Bianca was still getting cheers in beginning and the end of the match. But for the most part PR was definitely behind IYO. We just have to wait and see what happens in other cities to say that they consistently turn it on Bianca.
Iyo is the most talented woman in the world and has been since like 2012. Her charisma with this look and that music is through the roof. The fact she has been just sort of dragged along in these jobber heel storylines for so long has to end. Iyo could be the face of the division for the next 5 to 10 years easily.
I feel the lack of effort in stories for the women championship matches is what makes people turn on the "main character" because out of Bianca's last 3 feuds nobody can really remember anything from them. If they made the matches be more important and big people would be more invested on Bianca's story, Iyo is the next big thing in the audience's eyes because she's fresh and we aren't as used to see her in the big spotlight yet, so people will obviously and deservingly so cheer for her.
I always feel like Damage CTRL should be a stable where members are interchanging, I don't want them to disband, I want Dakota and Iyo to leave but let Bayley have new members

Iyo was getting great reactions in the recent Europe house shows so I think wwe knew fans were ready to cheer for her. The Puerto Rico crowd was so behind her and she put on a star-making performance. She didnt just do her high flying/high spots and did some good mat wrestling. The fans where popping for her on rest holds which was crazy to see

As a Puertorican who lives here. I'll clarify that here we LOVE Bianca, but we just like Io more. Had Bianca been paired up with anyone else, she would've had a huge pop.
Iyo is a classic face - I hope we see a Damage CTRL split and Iyo get a run as a babyface in the near future. Honestly, I haven't loved her as a heel and it would be pushing at an open door to flip her with most people I think.
Im really hoping this performance gives iyo a future championship run and a great solo run after the inevitable dmg control break up. WWE needs more asian representation for the women's divison so it would suck if they drop the ball with her like they have been doing asuka.
The show was sooo amazing, the crowd was amazing. It's so nice to see when the audience rallies behind performers without being annoying. Bianca vs Iyo was the secret main event. They showed up and showed out. It felt like a 80s-90s joshi match with a crowd to match. Bianca had an ECW John Cena moment but in a more positive way. I was a little sad when Iyo lost but that's okay. Instead of "aw man" I said "WHAT'S NEXT!?". I knew Bianca wasn't gonna lose but I also hope they don't throw this away. I want more of this - WWE do. not. waste. this. I swear to god. Knew Zelina wasn't winning but not everything is about winning the title or doing a wrestling classic. The emotional appeal was something uniquely special. WWE tries too hard to manufacture fairytale-like stories, this is one time where it felt authentic. Hope she gets more camera time from this. I'm so happy for her.
If I’m gonna be completely honest, I knew Zelina wasn’t winning, but her acting and storytelling was SOOO GOOD there were points in the match where I thought “SURPRISE ROLL UP” or SURPRISE VICTORY”. She’s just SOOOOO GOOD!
I love how they represented both Iyo and Zelina as the underdogs in there matches like both got massive crowd reactions from the Puerto Rico crowd (which were awesome by the way) 😊😁 and everybody wanted them to win and both showed what they can do and to me thats not only great storytelling but how you build up a great wrestler as well. I thought Backlash was an awesome Paper view and can’t wait to see what’s next for both Iyo and Zelina and the rest of the woman’s division 😊😄😉😉

Paloma was right on the money with WWE being in it's "record-breaking" era. They're doing it with Reigns and Gunther, so that's why the finish was predictable. There is no way, no how, that they were going to continue the streak of two of their men while denying a record to someone in their women's division just before she broke it; there is no version of that outcome where the company wouldn't catch major heat online. A lot of fans would be highly pissed and I wouldn't blame them for it.

I disagree she needs a heel turn. She’s a great face. It’s just one of those rare moments where a particular crowd take to a particular person. Bianca did fantastic with it as well, changing on the fly, not sacrificing her face character but letting the crowd enjoy the match. I thought she reminded me of John Cena a lot in this match and how he dealt with such crowds. She’s really really good, but she’s a great face and I get really annoyed by fans always crying about heel turns, then the moment they get it they move onto someone else. They already ruined Liv Morgan by giving into marks so I hope they don’t mess around with Bianca.

It was great to see Io finally get her moment to shine on the main roster. I do think they are teasing a DC break up so they had to throw that in there even though it messed with the flow of the match. It really goes to show that Io can definitely hold her own in singles and have great matches that get the crowd into it when Bayley coming in doesn't make the match better at all. I also love the Mami Theresa reference as Rhea really does it all and makes everyone around her better!

Now that Bianca is on Smackdown we all assumed IYO would win the Raw title at Backlash. Bianca has done an awesome job defending the Raw title but we will soon see Iyo Sky fly high as the next Raw Womens Champion.
Ok ! My take away from Backlash !!!! 1. This was the BEST match of Bianca’s reign !!! They missed the big moment of crowning Iyo. In my opinion 2. We all knew Rhea was gonna win.. as did we for Bianca .. but WWE problem is that they keep booking these matches where we know the outcome ! Having Zelina win would have been like WAITTTTTTT!!!!! Plus !! This would’ve been a great way to end her Queen of the Ring year ! Like they failed her a while back All in all, I would love to see Iyo or Zelina be SmackDown women’s Champ

Reminds of the Mickie vs Trish match at wrestlemania 22. Trish was face but ended up getting booed throughout the match while Mickie got the cheers for being the charismatic psycho lol. But I don't think Trish turned heel after that.
One problem is in a vacuum of hardcore fans like Puerto Rico iyo is super over bc they are Japanese wrestling fans . But iyo doesn’t get that reaction in the US same with asuka, hardcores will be like oh Charlotte should have NEVER ended asukas streak, forgetting that asuka leading to that match was not the hottest she wasn’t setting the wrestling world on fire and her fans have never bought her stuff. IYO same thing , silence for the raws and there have been just bianca getting the reactions. So the notion that they should have just called an audible has never and would never make sense. Bianca is one of the top draws of the womens division and is the face of the Company she’s the one that does the interviews now u will have a case where iyo is the champion gets zero reactions at some points , lowest merch selling champion like asuka was and out of the millions of wwe fans less than 50k are njpw fans globally in the US it’s less than 25k ( njpw us audience on tv is less 35k and that’s the hardcores who are more likely 90% njpw 10% other stuff too). The Puerto Rico crowd was so behind her and she put on a star-making performance. She didnt just do her high flying/high spots and did some good mat wrestling. The fans where popping for her on rest holds which was crazy to see

As a Puertorican who lives here. I'll clarify that here we LOVE Bianca, but we just like Io more. Had Bianca been paired up with anyone else, she would've had a huge pop.
Iyo is a classic face - I hope we see a Damage CTRL split and Iyo get a run as a babyface in the near future. Honestly, I haven't loved her as a heel and it would be pushing at an open door to flip her with most people I think.

Im really hoping this performance gives iyo a future championship run and a great solo run after the inevitable dmg control break up. WWE needs more asian representation for the women's divison so it would suck if they drop the ball with her like they have been doing asuka.
The show was sooo amazing, the crowd was amazing. It's so nice to see when the audience rallies behind performers without being annoying.
Bianca vs Iyo was the secret main event. They showed up and showed out.
It felt like a 80s-90s joshi match with a crowd to match. Bianca had an ECW John Cena moment but in a more positive way.
I was a little sad when Iyo lost but that's okay. Instead of "aw man" I said "WHAT'S NEXT!?". I knew Bianca wasn't gonna lose but I also hope they don't throw this away. I want more of this - WWE do. not. waste. this. I swear to god.
Knew Zelina wasn't winning but not everything is about winning the title or doing a wrestling classic. The emotional appeal was something uniquely special. WWE tries too hard to manufacture fairytale-like stories, this is one time where it felt authentic. Hope she gets more camera time from this. I'm so happy for her.
If I’m gonna be completely honest, I knew Zelina wasn’t winning, but her acting and storytelling was SOOO GOOD there were points in the match where I thought “SURPRISE ROLL UP” or SURPRISE VICTORY”. She’s just SOOOOO GOOD!

I love how they represented both Iyo and Zelina as the underdogs in there matches like both got massive crowd reactions from the Puerto Rico crowd (which were awesome by the way) 😊😁 and everybody wanted them to win and both showed what they can do and to me thats not only great storytelling but how you build up a great wrestler as well. I thought Backlash was an awesome Paper view and can’t wait to see what’s next for both Iyo and Zelina and the rest of the woman’s division 😊😄😉😉

Paloma was right on the money with WWE being in it's "record-breaking" era. They're doing it with Reigns and Gunther, so that's why the finish was predictable. There is no way, no how, that they were going to continue the streak of two of their men while denying a record to someone in their women's division just before she broke it; there is no version of that outcome where the company wouldn't catch major heat online. A lot of fans would be highly pissed and I wouldn't blame them for it.

I disagree she needs a heel turn. She’s a great face. It’s just one of those rare moments where a particular crowd take to a particular person. Bianca did fantastic with it as well, changing on the fly, not sacrificing her face character but letting the crowd enjoy the match. I thought she reminded me of John Cena a lot in this match and how he dealt with such crowds. She’s really really good, but she’s a great face and I get really annoyed by fans always crying about heel turns, then the moment they get it they move onto someone else. They already ruined Liv Morgan by giving into marks so I hope they don’t mess around with Bianca.

It was great to see Io finally get her moment to shine on the main roster. I do think they are teasing a DC break up so they had to throw that in there even though it messed with the flow of the match. It really goes to show that Io can definitely hold her own in singles and have great matches that get the crowd into it when Bayley coming in doesn't make the match better at all. I also love the Mami Theresa reference as Rhea really does it all and makes everyone around her better!

Now that Bianca is on Smackdown we all assumed IYO would win the Raw title at Backlash. Bianca has done an awesome job defending the Raw title but we will soon see Iyo Sky fly high as the next Raw Womens Champion.
If there is a change of titles, Iyo can still take the title from Bianca since the two will be in the same brand.

1. This was the BEST match of Bianca’s reign !!! They missed the big moment of crowning Iyo. In my opinion
2. We all knew Rhea was gonna win.. as did we for Bianca .. but WWE problem is that they keep booking these matches where we know the outcome ! Having Zelina win would have been like WAITTTTTTT!!!!! Plus !! This would’ve been a great way to end her Queen of the Ring year ! Like they failed her a while back
All in all, I would love to see Iyo or Zelina be SmackDown women’s Champ

Reminds of the Mickie vs Trish match at wrestlemania 22. Trish was face but ended up getting booed throughout the match while Mickie got the cheers for being the charismatic psycho lol. But I don't think Trish turned heel after that.
One problem is in a vacuum of hardcore fans like Puerto Rico iyo is super over bc they are Japanese wrestling fans . But iyo doesn’t get that reaction in the US same with asuka, hardcores will be like oh Charlotte should have NEVER ended asukas streak, forgetting that asuka leading to that match was not the hottest she wasn’t setting the wrestling world on fire and her fans have never bought her stuff. IYO same thing , silence for the raws and there have been just bianca getting the reactions. So the notion that they should have just called an audible has never and would never make sense. Bianca is one of the top draws of the womens division and is the face of the Company she’s the one that does the interviews now u will have a case where iyo is the champion gets zero reactions at some points , lowest merch selling champion like asuka was and out of the millions of wwe fans less than 50k are njpw fans globally in the US it’s less than 25k ( njpw us audience on tv is less 35k and that’s the hardcores who are more likely 90% njpw 10% other stuff too). It’s one of those things where yeah that’s the reason their has never been a Japanese star presented at the level of a Becky or bianca. It has NEVER been as profitable, end of the day it’s a business. Ppl want to separate them and say let’s not just book this bc it’s what we want to see but those ppl are generally at best gonna buy a T shirt and ironically it won’t even be of the person they are saying they want to win. It's funny because I am 100% into Bianca continuing her dominant title run. Bianca keeps showing up and SHOWING OUT, so she isn't getting in Cena territory yet, for me. Cena started getting booed when the crowd realized he wasn't going to evolve in the ring. Bianca has continued to evolve. She's been changing her moveset, getting much better on the mic.
Also apparently Puerto Rico is super into Japanese wrestling, so that could really explain why the crowd was so against Bianca, tonight will be the real test for Bianca. When she exchanges the titles with Rhea we'll have to see what the crowd's reaction was.
