The Mermen. The only band I really want to see. Too bad they don't tour the east coast. Everything I've ever loved about the electric guitar Jim Thomas does...and then some.
wow, that crowd is freaking awesome. This band... that location... IDK, I'v seen alot of crowds, and that one looked the MOST LEGIT EVER. Seriously, no sellout fanbois, just people. REAL people. COOL.
I close my eyes and between 2:00 and 4:00 I imagine diving head first into a wave and popping out the backside only to repeat it over and over and never tiring of the sensation.

Very very nice! But too many pedals I think... I don't want to seem cocky, but I play surf with a 8-9 year old Line6 30W Spider amp and a Danelectro Fab Echo pedal and its almost perfect (cause the amp has great but digital reverb)
Thephilmor, Oh ho, you are right. Remember when Jim still had hair? I saw these guys a few times back when they used to come to Texas. I recorded a couple shows to minidisc. Wait a sec, did you record this? Did you have a line from the SB to your camera? The sound rips, man.
Thephilmor, Right on, man. I actually would drag around a Mackie 1402 VLZ as it fit into a laptop bag. I had a couple mics and would also run a line from the house SB and rec to a portable Sony md. I was just learning as I went so most of my recordings turned out crappy but once in awhile good things happened. Yes, 74 minutes in stereo and twice that in mono. I have uploaded a video on RUclips @ClaytoneRecords of a Texas psych band called Seven Percent Solution if you’d care for a sample. P. S. Was this recording done with the Zoom? Also, I ordered this lp In god we Trust from the band when it came out. The Jesus & Shitler cover is hilarious and one of my favorites.
I really like the original studio recording of this song and wanted to hear all that energy in a live performance. But it seems like they try to reinvent the song every time they play it with dubious success. Just once I would like to hear this song with all the energy of a live performance but with the original arrangement.
