I believe I saw the wires from the old pump going to two different pins of the wiring harness then the new pump. The old fuel pump appeared to have the wires next to one another. The new pump they were separated by a blue wire.
You need to use the new harness that came with the new fuel pump. Cut the old harness & follow the directions for wiring it up. I thought the old harness would work since it was a direct plug in, but it wouldn't start. After wiring the new wiring harness, it fired right up. This was on my 07 Magnum.
@tony75814 Yep. When you upgrade to a new pump, you will have to rewire no matter the brand. Just follow the wiring diagram that comes with your new pump. The only tricky part is the two identical(in color) sender wires, if you cross them it will trip a code. Hope that helps
After market pump,, you have to switch #3 and #4 wires with each other,,,, Why???--"cause it's a dodge" (they give you a harness,,, but I usually just cut/splice/solder/wrap the 2 on the original.)
had the same problem on my Friends 2014 Chrysler 300...we had to call Someone that knows about electrical...he made the new fuel pump work ...but he swap the wires...different...he mentioned that the wires come different...and I thought it was the TIPM but not
I am having the same problem right this minute with my 2014 chrysler 300,i am installing a new one and it doesn't work, this the second one,the first one i bought 2 days ago i returned it thinking they sent me the wrong one,i received another one today and the car doesn't wanna start🤔🤔🤔🤔i am gonna take a look at the wiring now that you mentioned it
Hey I got a question I tried to plug the top connector back after i replaced the pump it won’t connect back in the first time I did it went right back in but I had to unhook because I didn’t have the seal good on there but now it won’t connect back do you have any idea why?
When ur taking or installing any part don't cut it becs it's kinda extra help and also some people gets mad and i understand what u said in.video but in youtube you have to make a content that your fans likes it.... anyways it was good to know and thanks for sharing it❤❤
Why did u think u needed a new pump. Was it a code that told you. Or something going on when driving. Is there a fuel filter. Where and how to change. And anyone know should change both at same time. My 2013 charger se. Runs rough and shakes and almost dies when im at a red light or just stoping to long. In traffic sucks. And i can smell the exhaust too. I have to put it in park and turn off and on and go. Like had to reset the car. Then its good again until i come to a stop again. But once i keep moving even drive far. Car is fine. So not sure whats wrong. Dont know if i con this. Was thinking of changing fuel filter and spark plugs and oil and oil filter. Havent done the oil ìn 5 months. And i checked all fuses and relays.
Hey buddy you have to change both pumps the plug into to each other and talk. Also you have to rewire the plug to connect to the right pin. should of been a pin set included. its pretty easy wire crimp and shrink wrap and it will fire right up. If you have a new model since the update of the fuel pumps you may not have to re wire but most definitely have to upgrade both pumps
Hello, i just changed out my fuel pump on my charger. Now the Fuel Guage is giving me a wrong reading. Its about 1/4 off. Could you suggest a way to fix this?
I had my drivers side fuel pump changed out on my 06 Charger RT a couple years ago when it failed and I was not getting any gas to the engine. It fixed the problem with fuel delivery but my gauge never reads accurately. A few months later I changed out the pump on the passenger side but that did not fix the problem with the gauge fluctuating. I have been driving it with an inaccurate fuel level reading for over a year. But I never know what the true level is so I just have to fill it all the way up an estimate.
@@misternell09 as I’m reading what you said, I was hoping you found a resolution .... but I have same issue and mines showing half a tank on a full tank.... I topped it off and shows half every time I fill up..... I reset miles trip and just base it off 130-140 miles lol
@@B_HarTz I did get the problem fixed with the fuel level reading inaccurately...sort of. I was able get a new fuel tank installed under a lifetime warranty because there were known problems with some of the 06 RT models. However I paid a new fuel pump and sending unit to go with the new tank. Everything seemed fine until the trouble code reappeared a week or so later. So the fuel level doesn't fluctuate and it reads pretty accurately until I get below 1/4 tank. Then it goes to E very quickly. The stalling issue I had when I filled my old tank has not happened since replacing the tank. But the code comes back for an electrical signal to the fuel pump. The only other thing it could be is a wiring problem in the instrument cluster. At this point I'm not going to spend much more time or money trying to figure it out. 🙄
Why would you skip putting it in but added you struggling with hose’s and connection? Come on bro did you update this video or have that video closing it up?

I was like hummm so I filled it up and it goes to full but once cars running it dropped to 3/4 full and stays their never goes to full like it should I pulled it back out twice and check it all looks good and freely moving
Hey, I know your car works and what not, but it wont start because you disconnected the negative terminal. When I switched my throttle body in my car, and I DC'd mine, my car wouldn't start for like 2 mins. I just sat there trying to turn it on and off and pumping the gas pedal.

Any updates on this?? I'm curious about the new pump that didn't work.
Before changing the fuel pump, you should always change the fuel filter first. I believe the filter may be clogged. And that may solve your problem.
You have to replace the connection
Don't worry bro. You will figure it out in no time. Just a quick advice, don't get frustrated & be patient when working on your car.🖒
Thanks man, That's what I put my mind set into when I first start working on it. Be patient because it might not workout as planned.

There is only 1 full pump

What is the 2nd fuel pump for and is it the same as the other?
There is only 1 pump on chargers
It’s a transfer pump to get it to the other side
How did you get the top part to stay in mine keep coming out
I am trying to install just the pump itself. How can i do it
minute 8:50 why you put the pump electrical conector in the gasoline...?...you only desconecting the negative in the battery..
It wouldn't do anything.
Why would you skip putting it in but added you struggling with hose’s and connection? Come on bro did you update this video or have that video closing it up?
Why change only one fuel pump if you have two. Also how do you know which one is bad or not.
Bro!!! What was the update? you left us hanging? Did you blow up or something?
Has anyone had a p0300 ? I need help my rt is misfiring and I already swapped the coils Sparks etc.
Random misfiring on this car is commonly indicative of timing being off.
Did you get it fixed? What was the problem?
Any update on ur car?

still don't know i think i will return it.

You installed everything right but that's why it's not starting
Why you need to use 6.4 fuel pump while you can go with aftermarket fuel pump like youre car specific?
What's the reason for the fuel pump change ?how was your car acting that you felt the need of changing the fuel pump ?
It was working fine, I just wanted to upgrade it so I can use more nitrous shot.

Where's the filter at
My car does the same bro, so it has to be my fuel pump right? I got a 2007 srt charger
Every turns on but I don’t hear the fuel pump turning on
Same here!!
Just did mine two weeks ago and the gauge is screwed up now sucks

ya I dont think they are direct fit, I think we will have to play with the wiring, I will try to return it.
Need to do both bro, you have 2.
Good video tho
The left one is for when the car starts/idles, the right one is when the car is under load/acceleration.
