- Plato's Closet was having a 60% off sale, so of course I had to check it out to find stuff worth flipping on Ebay, Poshmark, Depop and Mercari!
I ended up finding a bunch of stuff that was well worth it, and multiple items already sold!

I went from plastic bins to wire racks and 24x12 boxes. I am so happy to not having to move around heavy stacked bins! My business runs out of my bedroom and I have 8 underbed frame bins and 30 boxes between two set of shelves. My goal is to have a 400-500 item store that flips multiple times a year.

Thank you for taking us on your adventure to Plato's Closet, nice find on all of those shorts. I really enjoyed the Rad Room tour. That do sell wired shelving in sizes that fit that closet to put to better use for the hast and such....Keep up the great work, Will needs a bigger monitor to work with/jk

With your system what if you have 2 of same items how do you no which item to grab? I like your system. I do everything myself.
Two identical items? At that point it doesn't matter which one you grab ;-) However, if one has a little stain and the other doesn't, then just make sure you grab the correct one lol! Great job, keep it up!!
I like your inventory system Ebay room setup. Do you think niching down to mostly men's item has been fruitful for your business? Great vlog.
Thank you! Great question! It’s made us more efficient at the thrift store (although we still glance over the womens section, we definitely dont go through as thoroughly) and since we find enough men’s inventory to keep listing at our pace, we definitely prefer it this way 👌🏼 If there wasnt enough profit or finds in just mens, we’d have to go over to other categories to make up for it. So it’s more time saving than being non-niched, which holds a lot of value to us! 😊
@RadResells That makes sense. I've been considering niching down, but there is not a lot of available thrifting options yet on my end.
At that point we would just take what’s available. If niching down happens it happens 🤙
I love learning BOLO brands fro you. You are one of my favorite channels for that. So, I don't mean to be rude but I see you often refer to $10 profit margins. Profit margins are not dollar amounts. A margin is a percent.

Thanks so much!! Not rude at all - THANKS for pointing that out, you’re absolutely right I used the wrong terminology (guess that’s why I struggled w accounting back in college lol) 🤣 What would be the correct term for «desired dollar profit»? 🤔
Well you have it right when you just say profit. A $10 profit and drop the word margin BUT... that is still unclear to viewers. So. You paid $5 for a pair of Nike Running Pants and they sold for $20. Your GROSS profit is $15. That $15 is before platform fees, so if we assume fees at 20% and that comes off of the $20 sale, they take $4. So your NET profit is $11. I recently started making videos after years of selling. I posted in several facebook forums asking what people wanted to see, and they overwhelmingly said they wanted to know how much I actually made in a Whats Sold kind of video. I think people are looking for that actual net price. This is a very simplistic accounting because I am aware there are other expenses involved at the end of the year but for simplicity sake, these would be the best terms to use, I think, in the way you are trying to covey that information. Has anyone sold to Platos closet recently. I have a bunch of new with tags jeans and pants and shorts that msrp $50-$100+ and i’m wondering how much i might get. is it worth bringing in.
Great question! I overheard them saying they're "picky" with brands and won't accept certain low quality brands such as Shein BUT I've seen multiple Shein items there so.... I guess it depends on the person going through the items.. Haven't personally sold to them but have heard others complain that they don't get much.
I'm no expert, but your inventory system seems very inefficient, especially if your store were to grow to 3 or 4 times its current size. Plus if you have a lot of similar looking clothes it would easy to mix it up when they have just slightly different characteristics or same size tag but with different measurements.
Totally see what you’re saying! But we typically stay around 500-700 items. If and when we scale we’ll definitely have to start labeling items. As of now this has worked fantastic for us.
