With the backdrop of violence and terrorism associated with Islam The Review of Religions team traveled across America touring 6 States over 8 weeks asking the public if they had any questions about Islam. I am christian but I used to have a classmate in middle school who was muslim. I remember talking to her about islam out of curiosity and I remember being so interested in the subject. As a woman, Ive never had someone lay their hand on me in my entire life. The women in my family too. This is something that’s not even cultural or religious, it’s just something wrong with people.
The women in Islam are treated like Queens and you don’t need to worry about our hijab, it’s not a sign oppression, in-fact I even feel empowered when I wear a hijab. So please for all the people outside islam don’t think all of us feel oppressed, I started wearing the hijab at the age of 5. Till now I have never taken it off, I feel comfortable and confident when I wear it. Don’t assume we’re all oppressed.
