I'm with you about the battery on the 8gen2 chip its amazing. And i had alot of phones that claim good battery life nope. Thats why I just love my Vivo X Fold 2 but ill be hoping the Pixel Fold will elevate the foldable game or ill be waiting for Vivo X Fold 3 another great video.

I got a heuwei phone p40 pro for 3 years and I love it, will upgrade next year, I got my bank app on nationwide to work perfectly on the gspace for Google apps
A great video. Totally put off this device. One of Huawei's greatest edges was great quality and great prices but that was short-lived. Now you have extortionate prices and slippage in quality in comparison to the price point. A phone at this price where you need another phone to use a banking app is a Royle Royce with a Fiat engine. Battery issues in this day and age and at this price is just not viable.
Great review, honest and accurate. I sold my Vivo X Fold and i'm turning back to slab phones until the release of Xiaomi's mi fold 3. I can't decide between the Honor magic 5 pro and the Huawei P60 pro, so i'm looking forward to your next review :)
Can Xiaomi support Google apps and high street banking apps in the UK? It's this problem that makes it impossible for me to get this phone despite its awesome hardware.
Super review man ! You have now a subscriber in me, from Argentina. Regarding Huawei, and this phone in particular, makes Huawei one of the greatest tech companies in the world, period.
All their products are always top notch, they push the limits and leave everyone else catching up. They have the most complete ecosystem of products, and even make EV cars (Aito) !

The states need more options. I use my banking apps and android auto daily. I hate the limited options. I had a z fold for a few days, couldn't stand the outer display and don't want to be using it open screen all the time. I'm hopeful for the pixel fold, but super disappointed at its price point that they put in an older chip, and subpar cameras. Also, I hear the heat issues are bad albeit hit or miss per device. X fold 2 or honor v 2 would be my frontrunners if I could have my android auto

I'd consider moving to Malaysia for this phone 😂. You are lucky as it's a total deal breaker for me in the UK. Google maps is just so useful for live traffic data and I use it for navigation everywhere to reduce the traffic jams I get in. Can't having it think I'm in Germany

HEY, thanks so much! sadly, the Huawei is still around 1900 just now... i expect this to come down in the next month.
I got mine for £1799 with a discount voucher. Still expensive but softened the blow. Always search for discount codes before buying Huawei devices as there are a few out there.

I agree with everyone on here this is a great review. I almost had this phone as my next purchase as the hardware is exactly what I'm looking for in a new phone. The only improvement for me (yes this is controversial) would be the power button and volume rocker on the rear of the device like the LG G2. However, the lack of Google support and banking support means there's no way I could get this phone. How would I beat the traffic without live Google maps. I actually can't believe anyone in the UK would buy this as their main phone. But it's a sign of what Samsung will end up with their next book foldable and hopefully OnePlus will bring one out at a better price point.
Do we need any Google apps?
I can live without any Google apps just fine...
And Huawei phones are the best quality equipment you can get on the market..

I found Petal maps work reasonably well and I live here in the US, so I don't really see the need for Google maps. The banking apps and what not definitely are problematic.

great posti 👍. i use a vivo xfold. its a bit heavy, but i need banking apps because i trade shares on it. waiting for Xiaomi mix fold 3 or oneplus fold to get the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 for power management, better cameras and weight. 👍

Banking apps not a problem with Gspace, or install apks.
i had Gspace and Gbox. UK bank apps wouldn't work for me at the time.

I think that if you chose to make a video on the Huawei mate X3 it is for its photographic quality (but alas you do not present us many photos) and for its ultra-thin hardware

Viewing an older one of your videos, I did see see Viber app on the Vivo X Fold. Does App Twin option on Mate X3 provide two instances of Viber simultaneously? One for each SIM card, so that you can receive notifications on both phone numbers at the same time? Is this point in favor of Vivo with the App clone option supporting this?

Cannot use on Microsoft on Huawei as company uses Intune MS Company Portal which restricts Huawei devices authentication

Hi, great review. Couldn't believe that someone gripping the UK like me actually bought this phone. Huawei are definitely punching well above their weight in view of the US ban. I believe Huawei have the best foldable hardware while Samsung has the best software. I can't bring myself to buy Samsung foldable now because of the skinny external display so I have decided to washout until Samsung get it right even though it's really annoying it's taking them this long to have a normal phone that unfolds into a tablet rather than what we have now which is a skinny/ narrow phone that unfolds into a tablet.
I can't have two phone like you recommended.

Recently got this phone and sadly after a few days of trying to adjust from my old iPhone 13 Pro Max it just was missing too many features such as reliable NFC, GMS, and many game application such as Clash of Clans which runs but in a terrible format which doesn’t utilise the full screen. Bought it in the UK and I do have to say this phone just isn’t worth it from a iOS users POV, maybe if you are already Android user you will not be disappointed but the camera on Snapchat is terrible on this device.
Such a shame as the hardware on this phone is incredible and it feels great in hand and unfolding but software really is not good enough, Huawei have a great return policy letting you use the device for upto 2 weeks before you can get a full refund on a return so I have sent back for a return and will wait for Apple to release a foldable hopefully in the next 5 years.
In total I would not recommend this device unless you are already a Android user and do not mind the lack of GMS, banking apps and the use of APK downloads for certain apps (no notifications). Very disappointing as I love the phone but hate the lack of apps, games, notifications, Android OS and no NFC usability and not to mention the quite poor battery life at only 4800 mah with such a big screen the battery size of my iPhone is only a bit lower, foldables will need Gen 2 processors + or a battery with capacity at 5500 mah+ to compete with standard phones.
Too bad you didn't take more photos with the Huawei mate x 3, such as photos with portrait mode, photos with night mode, etc 😢😢.

Fold 4 is actually £1650 for 256gb a wee bit misleading there and right now on ao it's actually £1300
before you comment... get some facts straight! the Mate X3 only comes in 512 GB... check the price on the Z fold for that... now crawl back into your cave! much love!
also, i give accurate pricing on official retailer websites, sure toy can find some good deals on Wish.com!

I would definitely say the Vivo X fold+ is the best option as it will be cheaper than the X Fold 2 and has a 5x optical zoom lens.
Either one you go for is going to have better hardware than the samsung however, software will not be as sleek.

Great and amazing review, Hounstly I had and still have vivo xfold and have Huwawi mate x3 now for almost 2 weeks.. Really amazing phone, I was afraid from not working google services but till now all working great and google map too... I am living in Dubai.. But I can't sell my vivo x fold.. I will keep it till I get full sure that every thing is okay
