The scoring is the best I've seen in like 20+ years. The music was in sync with the buildup to the moment and the epic battle in the Coliseum that is Jaws pumping- had me nostalgic.
I was in Tubes restaurant in Bali about 23 years ago, about to surf a massive swell the next day at Uluwatu... and they played a surf video of massive waves with Prong's 'Snap your fingers, snap your neck" as the score. It had me ready to face the next day. And I did.
But this combination of Nordic, Mongolian, Hawaiin warrior music and double the size waves got me ready to narc on everyone. :p

Been watching surf videos for 20 years, back in the 90's on VHS tape when I first started riding, but your vlogs give me chills like the first time I ever saw big surf on those tapes. This is the best big wave video I’ve seen. Main role is played by the ocean and those fearsome waves, while Man heroically tries to approach them.
Geez have watched this about 5 times now. The editing and production is just first class. It’s just mesmerizing. Those are some of the scariest scenes. Pure survival at sea day. Well done.

your performance throughout the contest was one of the best that big wave surfing has ever seen, in my opinion.
you picked big perfect peaks and surfed them like it was 20 foot backdoor! i was blown away by how outstanding your surfing looked, despite having too big a surfboard. if the waves would have stayed good in the afternoon, it would have been a real big wave shootout, and you would have been hard to beat.
hats off to billy the king! that was a sick wave he committed to at the gun...he could have just as easily been torn up and broke his board. BK is a real bad ass in big waves!
and kudos to koa...he scored a couple sick waves, and played it smart in the final, not wanting to risk it in those waves with guys more qualified. i thought you both showed huge balls, and great skill.
