Brilliant piece of local history, pity there isn't more. That year there were wonderful sideshows such as "The Invisible Man", "The Bloody Tower" and "Terror From the Deep" but sadly not shown here although there's a brief glimpse of John Lock's Ghost Train which was there every year. Great stuff!

Its frieghtning to think this footage is over 50 yrs old the quality of the movie so good, like it was yesterday, all those kids all fully fledged adults with all the problems of life, and most of the adults all gone..........must have been filmed in 16 mm...?

This really is great - thank you for putting it online! Is it available on DVD anywhere, as the traveller children I teach in the 'Hoppings Fair School' would love to see it?! Not long to go until Hoppings 2009....

    What a brilliant time piece.
Great to see some of these classic rides in their heyday - and of course most of them are still around pulling crowds to this day! ... What was the cost of a ride in those days? ... about 20p a ride perhaps?

some of those rides were sixpennies, that is 3 pence today
