For the record The AIRSpace clips were recorded while he was unsupervised. 🤣 Sorry y'all. -Mrs. AIRSpace
I would use that to let my 8yr old daughter use when she wants to airbrush with me.
Hey Mike! I have an issue with this airbrush - I'm having an impossible time removing the nozzle from the body. I returned the one I got from amazon, and the next one I received had the exact same issue. The nozzle cap comes off, but the nozzle will not come loose from the body. Any thoughts?
I'm a model car builder and have used a few air brushes in my time. My 17 year old has always been very artistic and wanted to start air brushing and maybe becoming a tattoo artist. I think this would be a great starter brush for her... without having to give up one of mine 😅. If it works out for her, we can always upgrade later....
As usual, great job on the video, thanks for keeping us informed
I have a few different Timbertech brushes and I recommend the needles be polished thoroughly using either Flitz or an equivalent metal polish. Aside from a bit of prep when you first get it these Airbrushes are solid for their price point and using the 3 or 5 for general painting it's hard to beat the price. For very fine detail work I would say switch to a Sotar or even a fine needle Patriot 105 or an Eclipse. These are great work horses but not really for ultra detail but well worth their price.
I would use this for model kits and practicing basic illustrations
What amazing timing. I asked a question on a beginner Facebook group and someone recommended this brush I opened up my RUclips this morning and here you were.. I am switching from rattle can over to airbrushing my RC bodies. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money and find out I didn't like airbrushing. Would love to win one but definitely budget-friendly thank you
Well Mike I was/am saving up for the ps 290 to spray the heavy stuff but now I’m thinking maybe get this airbrush and concentrate on getting a detail brush. ✌🏼
I happen to own both this and the ps 290 and depending on budget, your compressor and how smooth of atomization you're looking for, I'd go with the ps 290 especially if you have a smaller airbrush compressor with small tank the timber tech using the 0.8 mm needle needs more air, I use the airbrush type compressor with 1 gallon tank and it runs constant and splatters a bit, needs more cfm I think, the PS 290 also runs a lot of air but sprays finer atoms and is consistently smooth.. the timbertech running the 0.5 doesn't seem to have the same problems as the 0.8.. if it'll get you by for now, and you decide to get the detail brush I'd recommend the gsi creos ps 771, I love mine, and half the price of comparable Iwata.. hope you find my 2 cents helpful.
@@babel232 Thank you for your input much appreciated. I use a pancake type compressor with a 6 gallon tank and the output is 3 cfm @90 psi do you think it will be enough?
the 290 with the fan cap is entirely a different experience. if you are in that budget range, and plan to use the wide fan its an an incredibly useful tool. That becomes an apples to oranges comparison. the 290 has a needle and head built more like a spray gun, designed to open up and throw paint a lot faster. and clearly for very wide coverage is going to be better.
Ultimately the 290 is going to be better on much larger 3d objects
Thats enough to run even an LPH80 for small periods. 3CFM will run any airbrush with lots of air to spare.
Mike i love this style video. I value your expertise and opinion. I need a brush to shoot metallic's and top coats so I've been in the market for a top feed ,larger needle AB.
Just found your channel & I LOVE it!
I would love for it to go to a airbrush article that will get some good use out of it. Good luck all
I’m a beginner and I’m painting skateboards and I think it would be good for what I need it for. Thanks, Mike.
Nice review Mike ! I think I'll give it shot ! ... The main reason is because I just bought the Timbertech Compressor ABPST08 with the tank ($79) and it works fantastically and is good quality ! thank you
Good AB for that money. I got 3 of them. 1 for Primer, 1 for the basecolor and 1 for the clearcoat of my 1/24 modelcars. And gonna buy another 1 for metallic paints. Tell me where you can buy 4 AB,s for $100,/ and dont have to change needle, nozzle etc everytime. Using them all at least 2 hours a day,and laughing the whole day. Polishing the needle with Flitzz or Fritzzz paste and they work like my h&s evo.
First time here and I really enjoyed this vid. Thank you for sharing. I'm an artist in other media but am going to try my luck at this airbrushing stuff. I had one airbrush many years ago but it was complete junk. For 25bucks it doesn't break the bank. Again ty for sharing. I'm a big sponge right now learning all I can. Great video ty.
GREAT STUFF MIKE i WOULD USE THE AIRBRUSH TO PAINT SOME STUFF FOR MY GIRLFRIEND :)
Great video. I have gotten interested in laser etching tiles. I'm looking for an airbrush to coat 4"x4" tiles with an alcohol/TiO2 mix. I have an old Harbor Freight airbrush that has been working but at times the gun sticks or has a rough trigger. I thinking the .5mm and .8mm tips will help me lay down more coating?
Another great video Mike !. Definitely learn alot from your videos . I myself can always use another airbrush to throw in the mix .! For practice sessions and I do like the idea of a .8 tip for the metallics etc. keep up the great work!.
I really like the way you help others on their airbrush journeys, I’ve learned loads even though I’m still more of a conventional artist using normal paintbrushes. I do use an airbrush for backgrounds etc, also for painting clay ornaments.
Shipping to the UK will cost loads so best make sure I don’t win. 😄
Nice review on this. I previously watched Bill's review and this does definitely look to be a good deal for the price. I mostly paint lures and it would be great for primer and base coating.
I got this for 60€ and I thought it was a good price, damn! And the Badger that goes for $90 there, is 225€ here. Only Iwata doesn’t overinflated prices locally.
As usual great help and advice, you dont get much for $25 these days. looks like great value Mike
Great starter airbrush
Awesome it comes with multiple needles and attachments too
Cant beat $25
Oh and u have to lube all ur seals and keep them lubes or the trigger adjustment for example will bind and wont work right I'd recommend a gahlery airbrush for a kik ass brush for the price
I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A BRAND NEW ECLIPSE,WHEN I TOOK IT APART TO CLEAN IT AND RE-ASEMLED IT DINT SHOOT OUT PAINT ANY MORE...ANY IDEA WHAT I COULD'VE DONE WRONG?????
I would use it with the .5 needle for t-shirts. Just getting started. Any help would be very appreciated 😃
I would use it to learn with I been watching your videos and would really like to learn I bought the harbor freight siphon feed but it uses to much paint
Thanks for this video! Exactly what I needed to know.
competition benefits the consumer! nice to see more and more value coming in when it comes to sub 100.00 airbrushes. i got into painting shoes now so something like this would be handy! i might want to get 2 lol
got mine today. spent like an hour with it. compared to the one that came with my compressor as a kit, its alot better! more responsive and allows me to do way smaller dots with more control. im sure its not as good as say a 250.00+ Iwata but im really happy with it so far. I found the .5mm goes through alot more paint than i am used to. so i swapped it with the .3mm
I woukld use it for basecots and spray sizing glue
Pretty cool what you can get for 20+ bucks. 👍🏻
I would use it to paint some skulls!!! ahhahahahah! (evil laugh)
Does the timbertech also have a siphon feed airbrush for shirts?
I would definitely use it for masked off work. Heck yea
I would use it painting fishing Lures’s
I would use it to paint my Cadian 40k army
Nice! I could use this to color block shoe panels.
I have 3 of these airbrushes and Love them
The default needle which I believe is 0.5, struggled with illustration paint
🤔 ok...
i am greatfull that i found both of you guys and i am able to learn alot from you guys .. i love bill's vedio he is funny and thats always motivates me
Awesome! Thank you!
Oh the link for Air Spaces channel isn’t working for some reason
I fixed it thank you! www.youtube.com/@TheAIRspace
Just a tip on the master airbrush as I own and use the g233 all these needles need to be polished and u will get a better spray and less tip dry
What do you use to polish them?
I've had that same airbrush for about a year and I had no complaints, But I Upgraded to an Iwata Eclipse and There is no Comparison , but the timber tech does spray good for the price, not disappointed, I do find the 0.8mm needle and nozzle not working well with my compressor. I'd need to go bigger to get good results with the 0.8.
For $25, this seems like a great value. I airbrush my woodturning projects, mainly bowls, and am doing a free workshop in June for members of our club. I primarily spray Fiber Reactive dyes, which spray much easier than the acrylic ink mixes. I think I will get one to use for a secondary color. Hmmm, maybe I will get another after that! I also have some tank tops begging to be airbrushed, but haven't worked up my confidence to do them. Your airbrush skills are amazing to watch! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.
I actually had their previous model ABPST01 and was not happy with it compared to the Badger Patriot I bought as my main airbrush for miniatures. This one, however seems better made and I will see how it works as a primer and general purpose brush while I keep my Patriot with a finer setup. Fingers crossed!
Mural on my truck.
I wonder if the timbertech is the USA brand as In Europe they are called fenga the packaging looks the same, that .8 would be nice to spray some spinkley sparkley paints..
This as well as Master airbrush are all made by Fengda This one would pop up as the FE-183-k In particular i cannot say if the fengda branded has teflon or rubber needle packings. This one indeed has teflon.
Talking with a friend in the UK the other day he said this was about 25 pounds on amazon.
Thanks for that Bill I didn't realise they were all made by fengda, I'll have a look at the fe-183k I bought the fe-180k a year or so ago by recommendation of Mystic airbrush and that has Teflon seals as he uses urethane paints in his videos and for £25 it's worth a look.. Cheers Bill..
@@dustyart580 im actually running the .3 nozzle with the 180 Needle in mine. Which I like a lot better i mentioned in my review the needle for the .3 setup was much slower than I liked.
With self centering nozzles this is much less likely to get damaged when cleaning. I bought a second.. one to keep the .8 in and one im running a modified .3 in and im really liking it in that configuration.
I would want that to lay out Createx sparkle effects!! With a skull squad cap of course!!!🚨🚨🚨
As a noob, I think this would be great for custom painting fishing reels and rods that I build.
Very nice. Just starting to airbrush. Would be nice to grab 1 or 2 of these. Thanks for sharing
Great video!
That's awesome ...skull squad.. love the videos keep up the good work 👏
Great review! I would use this for base coating or first tries on shirt brushing.
I accept the masters opinion, thanks for the video demonstration.
I d use it to shoot the Uvls clear and the autoborn sealers for the base coats
Thanks for the demonstration.
