Tried welding the bike frame and it burns through all the time, me not being a welder doesn't help. So seeing you make this has given me fresh hope for making my recumbent bike. Thanks for sharing 👍
Hey Gav, great video and a super no-weld recumbent build. You broke down the details. Anyone with a few bike skills can build one. As you kindly referred to my old no-weld build I was reminded that my bike is resting peacefully after many short hops around town. I used to get stopped to explain what it was and how I built it. I know have a couple of recumbents. Older ones that i got cheaply. Again, good job on the video and the bike build.
I think this will be my next project. Currently I'm riding my DIY MBB 26inch recumbent. It's a tank, but the comfort is awesome. I just could not go back to upright when thinking about the recumbent comfort. Great build Gav!
With the prices of recumbent bikes wayyy out of reach for a working stiff like me, I had all but given up on the idea of ever owing one. Well, thanks to this video, I am considering building one myself. This is something I never even considered before. Thanks for rekindling my idea of possibly having a 'bent after all. I guess it is time to get out and find some "donor" bikes and get ta work on building one. With winter coming on soon (northern USA) it will give me a great project to have ready for next spring. Thanks again for the inspiration! This is going to be fun.
hi there ! the bolt on boom works well for this kind of bike, a folder, as the frame is quite large, and the shape worked well. the extended steer tube helped too. i've done nearly one thousand miles on this so far and its still held together well. hopefully there's enough info here to help with your build.
Well, thanks to your experience, I now drove over 3000 kilometers on my vehicle, if there is a desire, on my RUclips channel there are few materials, for this and two more cars, all front-wheel drive. And all on a 28 inch wheel. Again thanks for the inspiration P.s. Greetings from Ukraine
lol ahh but yes ! got my high racer, low racer, MBB and this bolt together...all home huilt. there's older videos here. i ride em regular. regular'ish !
three years on, many miles, trips to town, away for a touring trip, and everything is still solid.

My old neighbour used to weld for me, never had a failure. And this bike is still going strong, on just he nuts and bolts.

A good device, but I prefer MBB...By the way, I assembled my device, a little inspired by your front-wheel drive ... thanks ;-)
thanks !
this was more of an experiment, for no welding, for various reasons.
and my designs.... copied off others, lol !
