I like the way you explain things. You talk facts about the good, the bad, and the in-between of the types. It's to the point, clear, and you don't sugar-coat it without being harsh either, like a fine middle ground. Thanks for your work! Do you plan on tackling the triads too?
So glad you enjoyed it! I definitely aim to never shy away from the painful truths of the enneagram (which is where the true work is). And yup I've covered the triads in the full episode on 9s, and here's the clip of it: ruclips.net/video/6zP77WTeI64/видео.html
bro PLEASE keep making these! Like to me you're one of the best enneagram RUclipsrs I've seen...The depth and way that you explain each type is spot on. I'm a 9 and your full explanation video felt like you knew me lol. Bro, would you be up for creating some sort of pdf or written but concise doc for each type? A friend of mine just took the enneagram test but she's one of those people that doesn't like watching videos and would rather read. I went to your site to see if there were any written pieces and didn't see anything. Side not, I might reach out to you, would love to help you keep You've Got A Type going and growing.
So glad ya enjoyed it Matt! I've wanted to create some worksheet type docs for a while now - but I've been focused on video content for the time being. So many ideas, so little time! Appreciate the support!
I can’t seem to figure out if I am a nine or a seven. I look like a seven on the outside. Happy 90% of the time. People often I ask my husband is she happy all the time but I also like order structure and a loose routine. Like I have all my household chores written on todo list which I check off each day. However, I fear conflict like nothing else. I would prefer to just let things go rather than fight as it is not worth it to me. I’m always thinking ALWAYS. I have a strong moral code and I know what I want out of life much like a seven however what I want does not change often unless it’s been accomplished. I tend to get obsessed with things such as psychology, nutrition, organization … just to name a few. I loath people trying to control me or people who push me to do something before I am ready. My biggest fear is loosing someone I love as my brother died when I was young. I don’t fear boredom, sometimes I wish I was board as I have a lot of responsibilities with my family and I would love more free time . My idea of a good time is grabbing a coffee and going on a long drive through the mountains with my husband. I love silence and solitude ( which I rarely get as my kids are homeschooled) but yet when I am with others I am usually smiley energetic and I try to make everyone happy and feel good. People love to talk to me about their problems even random strangers! People will tell me things they claim they have never told anyone. I have goals and visions and I almost always accomplish them but it takes me a longer time than most. I like watching people and observing them but despite how extraverted I look they exhaust me. I have consumed material on the enneagram and despite my best efforts I still can’t type myself. I think I’m just weird 😂.
Well it's always hard to say when I don't actually know someone, but my best guess would either be a 9wing1 (hence the moral code and tendency for productivity) OR a 2wing1 because 2s and 7s have a very similar positive energy. It depends on if you enjoy giving advice to people (and dish it out without people asking which is 2ish) or if you're just a great listener but don't like to give advice (with is more 9sih). Loving silence and solitude almost immediately disqualifies you from being a 7 haha. Social 9s often bring a sense of positivity and upbeatness to their community - which may make them think you're a 7. But 7s have an unmistakeable lust for NEW things and NEW experiences. If you prefer the "familiar and comfortable" over the "new and mysterious" then I'd say go with the 9. This is why wings and instincts are always so important. I'd recommend watching the full video on 9s and 7s if you haven't already! Peacemaker is not the right word: peacekeeper is more correct. We want peace to remain peace. But we're unlikely to go and fight to make peace wehere there is none. It's more a type8 wing 9 thing.
That's kind of a superficial take. The term comes from the Enneagram Institute that's been doing this for 40+ years. The 9s essence creates peace & harmony by being nonjudgemental and accepting of all people & situations. Furthermore, their movement of integration is to Type 3 Achievers and they become very proactive, productive, and effective. The name comes from their gifts, not what happens in average/unhealthy range. Watch the full 9 video to learn more: ruclips.net/video/dkYR6b_hUMQ/видео.html
@@YouveGotaType it's not just me that think this way. Several Enneagram channels talk about this misconception. Type 9 stays calmly in the background and if things get rough, unless there is something really important at stake, like family or friendship, we remain in the background. Ignore the tests, focus on the core issue and stress points.
