Estelle has to be my favourite example of great character growth, I don't think I'll ever find a more amazing protagonist. I am happy with this ranking. You did it guys, well done.
She's a fantastic character indeed. If it was me, she wouldn't be at the top, but I can definitely see why she ended up there. There are just so many brilliantly written characters in Sky, so arguably, we're spoilt for choice!
I don't know, I love llyod, his growth can be seen on the same scale as Estelle. N his intelligence is not overdone and doesn't come of as overly smart and irritating but comes of as a really smart detective. That makes him that bit more relatable than Estelle. For me that is anyway.
@@Starkride48 I dont even like Kevin that much as a main character. The overly hitting on girls is a bit much for a jrpg main character. I know it's different and loving. But its amazing for a side character which he definitely was, even in the 3rd sky he was the main focus but you can't help but to view Estelle and Joshua as the main characters over Kevin and the most useless Ries.
This was a good reminder as to just how great the Sky cast really is. The finale of 3rd especially is probably one of my favourite scenes purely because it highlights just how far everyone has came together, and just how much you've grown to love all of them now that the first major arc is over. Would be very interested to see more of these for the other Trails arcs if ever that becomes a priority!
and heck yeah, for me Estelle, Renne and obviously Olivier are the best Sky characters!! damn i teared a bit when i saw Olivier in CSIII in his old outfit
My top 1 is definitely Olivier but I understand that his importance is to the whole series and not just limited to one arc so he might not be the best character through the lens of a single arc. Estelle though...man, simply blown away by this character. Definitely the best protag of any game for me too. My main reason for liking her is definitely because of how refreshing of a protagonist she is compared to many. There's no dramatic backstory, not with her family, not with her friends, not with her lived experiences. As loewe says, she has no darkness (which is not to say she has no flaw). Normally that would be a boring character but, in the context of legend of heroes, she is the perfect character to explore zemuria's hidden darkness with and see how to rise above insurmountable odds when it seems like your character is only a very small gear in the whole machine, especially when said machine is hurting the people you care most about.
Just watched all three videos and i honestly agree with all of them. Except for 1 and 2. Estelle is definitely Bestelle in the Sky games but Olivier is perhaps my favorite character of the entire Trails series. Though to be fair i have not played the Crossbell arc yet but i did watch the video summaries of them. Btw, the character that comes closest to Cassius is Victor Arseid. They are both considered living legends, they are veterans of the army, they have badass daughters and are relatively chill characters. I'll never forget his entrance on the Pantagruel in CS2. The moment he landed i thought "That's it, Class 7 will survive". The exact same thing happened in the Infernal castle. Too bad his character is still not as fleshed out as Cassius which is why Cassius is an overall better character. Then again some people say Arios from Zero/Ao can give them a run for their money both combat wise and character wise. Not in the badass daughter aspect though but certainly in the cute ones. Here's hoping that you make similar videos on Crossbell and Erebonia Arcs.
Thanks for taking the time to watch them all! I would have to agree that Olivier is one of my favourite characters too, but for me, Estelle still wins out due to her down to Earth nature. I find myself relating a lot to her character, especially as it develops. In terms of who gives Cassius a run for his money, there are many more character that have appeared since the games have continued, and while Victor is indeed powerful, I'd still say Cassius is above him in combat potential (if he had his blade of course). The problem is power scaling is very difficult to judge in these games, as everyone seems to beat everyone on a chosen day, so it comes down to interpretation, and quotes in game. Arios is definitely below the two of them though. He may be powerful, but Cassius is his senior in the Eight Leaves school (he was the final test for Arios to receive his Divine Blade title), and Victor is the master of one of the main schools of swordsmanship in Erebonia, a land renowned for it's military might. Can't forget as well that Arios has openly admitted he's not at the same level as Cassius, thought this could be modesty. Again, it's tough to ascertain with the way the universe is.
@@TheKisekiNut Well good to know about Arios. Like i said, i haven't played Zero and Ao yet and I'm halfway through CS3. Once i'm done with it i'll play them :)

Yeah, the one I show is canon! It takes place concurrently with the Sky arc, so worth reading for some added context. You can find it here, only 3 volumes so can be read easily in 1 sitting. :) imgur.com/a/sHXdy Links to the other volumes are at the bottom when you finish. I would also suggest reading 'Ring of Judgement' if you've played Zero no Kiseki (and ONLY IF you've played Zero no Kiseki as it gives a bit of a spoiler in the novel for an event later on). Link for that one is here - mangaowl.net/single/4645/eiyuu-densetsu-zero-no-kiseki-pre-story-shinpan-no-yubiwa

Estelle had some great moments but her dumb unfounded optimism was getting me a lot. The fact that Olivier was with the group all this time and pulled an wool over our beloved protagonist(Even Kevin did that)do not help the characterization of her.Joshua was the first to identify his identity. In my eyes Kevin's character was better characterized as a protag. The story has a lot of diplomatic plots with some of the great characters. Such Diplomatic lore with a simple and superficial protag doesnt fit in my eyes. But that is my opinion.
Why is tita so high she is a crybaby man , , agate so be higher ,I love a tough ass character with no nonsense ,,I could play with him as the protagonist

@@DaLastMonster Oops!! Honestly, it could be wrong, but I'm going off the German pronunciation, which I believe is correct.
Great stuff man! What are the mangas you had in the video? Are the canon? Where can I buy/read them?
Yeah, the one I show is canon! It takes place concurrently with the Sky arc, so worth reading for some added context. You can find it here, only 3 volumes so can be read easily in 1 sitting. :)

Links to the other volumes are at the bottom when you finish.
@@TheKisekiNut Yesss! Thank again!
Man this list is very interesting as it goes from story perspective rather than battle contribution. So far all ranking I see is from battle contribution, so seeing this ranking is, yeah, very interesting experience
But, whoever votes Renne at the 31st place, or anything below top 10 belongs to gehenna
Not joking btw, even without Zero redemption arc she shouldn't be below top 10
All this talk about Tita, and no mention of how she becomes Death, destroyer of worlds once she gets her mech in Sky the Third.
I love this game.. Here in brazil, i dont find anyone for talk about this game.. Shameless
I call him A-GA-TAY ...
In my opinion Kevin>>>Estelle
Why Is Tita So High??? There's Literally Nothing Interesting About Her
Why is tita so high she is a crybaby man , , agate so be higher ,I love a tough ass character with no nonsense ,,I could play with him as the protagonist
