Attention to detail is second to none as always. Seen this colour change ppf popping up on your feeds a couple of times & it does look good. Yes I have a black car as well 🤦🏽♂️😂
some questions from someone who knows nothing about any of this. If a car is vinyl wrapped how do you maintain it? Do you still wax it the same as paint? Can you polish it if there are small marks or scratches? and how durable is it, how long would it typically last?
Five years later and I need a wing bumper and bonnet replacement due to an accident, will the same shade of wrap material still be available to match the adjacent panels?
Does the ppf have any impact on driver assist systems like the radars behind the corners of bumpers? Manufacturers tend to state only paint to say 150 microns thick including original coatings in these areas?
Hi Jon, will you be updating your review of The Rag Company gauntlets video? You said you were leaving the towel with fresh layers to see how it performed over time, which was 5 months ago so it would be really interesting to hear how it performed and held up
@@ForensicDetailing terrific, thanks for the update Jon. I think i'll get one ordered soon :) I'm actually going to try to give my car a maintenance wash this morning before the heat wave hits up here in Cheshire! Hope you and your family have a good weekend with the new pup 😃
Can PPF be applied to alloy wheels? I have a motorbike with diamond cut wheels. The lacquer has lifted (as I don’t clean it regularly) and I wonder if it can be fitted after the wheels have been repaired.
@@ForensicDetailing thanks for the quick reply. What’s the best way to protect diamond cut wheels for lazy b’s like me who hate cleaning? I’ve done 6k miles in 4.5 months in all weathers and washed it 6 times. The last time I noticed the wheels had the lacquer lifted. Thanks in anticipation.
Thank you very informative. I want to get into this industry. I want to take professional training course in the states. Should I take the 3M PPF course or a color change vinyl wrap course first?
New to your channel. What is the cost of a ppf like this roughly? I need to know because this seems like a much better option for my black truck. I’d protect the paint while still gaining some color excitement. The fact it’s self healing and adds pop makes way more sense than a traditional wrap which I was weeks from doing.
I’m sorta curious now as to the possibility for creating some sorta of drag ? A few fraction off and yer 2nd bud😆🤔😬🤙🏼 How does it look on a white base?🤨🤔😬
Scratches will self heal as its self healing film and its designed for stone chip protection, If you did get any damage to the film we would just replace the panel and the paint would remain protected :)
a bit harsh though to say "Wrap is dead"... I mean yes, there's quite an evolution in wrapping and PPF materials going on, but still, even the STEK Miami Blue PPF on a white car... it just doesn't work , so back to a wrap + PPF
Coloured ppf is the another way to get colour change with a superior protection, detailing is a different job, is like to say, surfboard is the future of rugby 😂 👍👍👍
@@ForensicDetailing great but in the video you mention black and white donor cars are best for this option you are presenting. i wanted to achieve a blue/green colour

Very timely, I've been looking at coloured PPF and have narrowed down to Profilm and STEK Dyno!
Wow, that's crazy. I had not even heard of this. Thanks for sharing!
What an incredible transformation, beautiful.
would like to see the result after 3-4 months, with the inevitable contractions etc.
This is great content. The results look stunning. New car levels of finish.

Educational and the way forward 👍
That looks like a spanking new car now , wow looks awesome 🤩
Looks amazing! I have a Black 997.2 GTS and am very tempted!!!!!
Its totally worth it :P
Nice! I’d love to see a blue pearl PPF over white paint.
Martin is such a good friend Jon👍. I enjoy you both and can forget about Harry.
I love this car and this colour. I think you've done the car proud.
Wow. That’s fantastic. I may have to look at that at some point. Better than wrap.
This is brilliant stuff. Thanks Jon
Nice Wrap, Crazy It totally highlights the styley of da PORSCHE!!! That’s a good looking machine 🤘🏼
These guys are like surgeons, nice work.😊
Interested to see what this would look like on Agate Grey! Is there a version that just has the flakes without the pigment?
That final shot ! ❤❤❤
Im confused, so once the wrap is on how dontou chnage the color? Like from black to white to red?
Great technology!
Only advantage of wrap is it covers scratches and can totally choose any color you like.
Exactly
Is this more affordable or more expensive?
@@Unxpekted Regular vinyl wrap from a shop is $4000-6000CAD depending on your car. PPF is over 8k for the whole car.
Need to see a junkyard vehicle wrapped
That looks amazing
I have Flexishield Cosmetic PPF on my GR Corolla. Gotham Purple. Absolutely love the quality of the film.
How much did it cost?
Just under 8k total not counting ceramic coat. Roll of film is 6k in of itself. Install was 1.7k
We love Profilm ProColour here in the Dubai sun… great job guys
Yeah!...looks awesome, real nice!
Whatever you call it
the finish is amazing !

You cant wax vinyl from what i hear. You have to use a certain soap and detailer spray with it so it doesnt damage the vinyl
Quality work gentlemen 👍🏼
so clean it looks like a rendered model
Five years later and I need a wing bumper and bonnet replacement due to an accident, will the same shade of wrap material still be available to match the adjacent panels?
Not if meteor hits planet m8.
Does the ppf have any impact on driver assist systems like the radars behind the corners of bumpers? Manufacturers tend to state only paint to say 150 microns thick including original coatings in these areas?
Awesome question m8 I don't know. You could leave the sensor face uncovered I guess but the ones I've seen done seemed fine. One for martin really
No it won't have any effect
WOW !! ..Superb Job !!
approximate cost of PPF installed? and can you apply shine to it like hi gloss items? can you still get the same pop/gloss as with regular paint?
North of 4k m8. Yes can coat, wax, qd it etc. Finish on this film looks really good can get the photometer on it I think
Would it work on a C300 estate 2018 that has the usual wear and mini chips on the bonnet from road dust ?
it will work but not sure how it will look mate, and its impossible to say if it will hide chips without seeing them. tiny ones yes big ones no m8.
Until car paint can change from white to black and red to green vinyl wrap and plastidip are still alive. Still a great finish though, awesome video.
Gorgeous

Ppf is better because it simply lasts longer without damaging the vehicle after just two years like vinyl.
How many years does PPF last ?
Looks awesome 😮
That 997 looks so good debadged.
Would love to see this type of ppf on some white cars

i think its starts at abuot 3800 upwards.

That gloss is gorgeous
how much did that cost? and how long will it last in the sun ?
This Wraps it all up!! 👍
This is so cool damn
How is this different from a wrap and how do the costs compare?
Wrap normally for color change Ppf more a protection film
I was expecting it to turn green but it didnt. What a let down 😢
Hi so if you ppf a car in a different colour do you have to change to log book ?
No
Thank you very informative. I want to get into this industry. I want to take professional training course in the states. Should I take the 3M PPF course or a color change vinyl wrap course first?
I really don't know m8. But we will compare film qualities soon.
Vinyl and ppf are two totally different animals. Very few installers are competant at both.
10:14 mins what happen to the bonnet? Doesn't pop as the rest of the PPF
think its just the angle.
I spotted that as well , looks like a bad respray
That's just the angel the bonnet is flawless

I am really interested in this product. My car already has scratches on the paint, will the color change ppf hide it?
yes mate, hides most light to media swirls. the color change PPF hides a lot more.
Forget wraps this is way better
Guess what it's still a wrap hahahahaaaaaaa
Lol ,not for those guys with bad body work and primer patches
Nope it's nothing like a vinyl wrap, it's totally different technologies and materials, it's nothing like wrap
Its bettet and much much expensive
I'd love to see it on a white car to see the difference between black and white, can you tell I have a white car?
My Mrs and my bank manager have asked me to stop watching your videos 😂😂
Can't go wrong with green👍👍
How difficult is it repair? Like if you got rear ended? Can it be repaired in sections?
Yes m8
I doff my cap to these guys. It takes some serious skill and patience to wrap a car/ppf a car to such a high standard.🫡
Thank you 😊
That came out nice in the sun
the color outdoor looks almost like Honda green from the 98-02... indoors the reflections are insane tho!
What is the point of "protecting the paint" if you are changing the color??? Does PPF come off without damaging the pant under it during removal?
What's the point in protecting the paint? Come on m8 you can answer that one surely
So m8 is supposed to be "mate" if I guessed right as you keep saying it everytime you speak. right? lol@@ForensicDetailing
I’m sorta curious now as to the possibility for creating some sorta of drag ? A few fraction off and yer 2nd bud😆🤔😬🤙🏼 How does it look on a white base?🤨🤔😬
Yer I wouldn't loose sleep over drag m8

How much would a job, exactly like what you've just demonstrated, actually cost?

Does a car needs to be polished before putting the PPF down ?
depends on the car mate and the customer. But with older cars covered in swirls yes. PPF will hide small stuff though.
a bit harsh though to say "Wrap is dead"... I mean yes, there's quite an evolution in wrapping and PPF materials going on, but still, even the STEK Miami Blue PPF on a white car... it just doesn't work , so back to a wrap + PPF

I'm not sure really I'd like to see it
How does this stuff work on non clear coat finishes like lacquer paint?
I don't know. Brilliant question. Id would imagine not great

Out of interest what snow foam do they use?
I think their one m8
Difference between ppf and a wrap is that ppf is thicker?

Yes there is mate and more colors are being monthly.
My jaw dropped when I saw them using water to apply - Awesome.
I don’t get it why? I can’t see it on my screen why
Someone's getting gold wheels 😊
How much is it to wrap a standard saloon car.
All depends on the car it's self
Ppf is still vinyl… and you still wrapped it 🤷🏻♂️
other than the fact its not this comment was amazing
They are completely different materials of different thickness and different purpose. You must be new.

I would agree if the color palette was infinite but it's not so there is still a place for vinyl
Does look super glossy on those outside shots 👍
I get that its PPF but you still wrapped the car. Since it wasnt paint. Wrap lives on
yer we didnt wrap it mate. you got it right first time with the PPF.
So how do you give warranty on a new product that has not been real world tested for that amount of time ?
Prolly because the underlying film and glue tech is understood and tested. Confidence in product etc...
It's been fully tested
Looks like my old T350 in Nebula black 👍
Would this damage when it is removed at all?
Not if done properly and ppf much easier to remove than wrap
