Just a perfect playing of mr Aimard. I have heard him in some chamber music, always on top, but never as a solist in any piano consert before. In this uptaking he proves that he is ready to challenge anyone of the really famous pianists. If it was a competition. It is not. I will just say that he is one of the greatest interpreters of this Beethovens third piano conserts I ever heard.
Just hearing the very introduction to this fine concerto, with its crisp staccato attacks, forebodes something special. And this soloist knows well what he's doing. Put all three elements together: composition, NDR orchestra and the soloist, and the performance is practically unbeatable. NDR, kudos!, you've done it once more. The German broadcasting companies are the equal (at least) of all the "name" orchestras! JAT

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieses perfekt komponierten Konzerts mit klarem doch elegantem Klang des technisch fehlerlosen Soloklaviers sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt beruhigend. Im Kontrast klingt der dritte Satz echt lebhaft und auch inspirierend. Der intelligente und geniale Dirigent leitet das perfekt trainierte Orchester in verschiedenen Tempi und mit effektiver Dynamik. Hörenswert!

Beethoven, the greatest romantic composer, totally unsurpassed practically in all his masterpieces, sonatas,concerts and symphonies, this piano concert in one of my favorite together with 5th " the emperor " I think are the best, believe or not, the history tells that Beethoven wrote a New concert, which would be the 6th, but he can't end it , but the curious thing is that this concert is exactly the same as the violin concert in D major, I heard it and is absolutely beautiful, charming and magic. Again thanks to NDR orchestra for bringing us such a beautiful music and joy to the world.
