It's videos like this one that keep me up all night on RUclips (it's 4:47 AM)! SUPERB LAYOUT!! The level of detail is stunning and inspiring. Thank you Mr. Fagan for sharing this masterpiece with us. Now I must watch model railway videos from the UK before going to bed.
This is too much! The size, detail, complexity, accuracy, etc. I just can't comprehend, in my walnut brain, how projects like these are possible. I just watch and drool when I see layouts like this! Phenomenal!
This ride was amazing, each level it's own experience, the track work, use of trees and of course painting the floor joist gave a feel of realism as I enjoyed my front row seat. Fine video, really enjoyed it.
Ken McCorry : Thanks for your reply. I must admit I am watching these again and thoroughly enjoying your operations. 25 years well spent in my humble opinion. Your industrial scenes are beautifully modelled. Mark you, everything is beautifully modelled. There's a real sense of purpose to the layout. Cheers.
What's to say but incredible! There are a few little things I don't get about train guys, having all sorts of power poles as the real world does but, no power lines for them?? Would it not look more realistic to have said power lines or is this just something yet to be done? I see quite a bit on videos like this is all I'm saying. I don't have trains, I design & create RC Replicas, so please, no offense intended, it's an incredible layout & I especially appreciate your attention to detailling & backdrops etc. The video quality is not great but I would rather see your amazing labor of love this way than not at all, deepest respect for a job extremely well done overall & ty for sharing it with us.
When a person reaches for an inevitably derailed piece of rolling stock, you can watch all the pole lines cascade like dominoes. Now do you understand why "no lines"??
Yes, given the unimaginable effort put in, I would have thought that straight straights would have been so easy - the wobbling track becomes distracting. Nevertheless, nothing less than a work of art.
W O W ... I LOVED THIS LAYOUT. IT WAS THE MOST MASSIVE ONE I HAVE WATCHED. IT IS WELL WORTH WATCHING. QUESTIONS, HOW MANY CARS, LOCOMOTIVES AND SWITCHES ARE IN THE LAYOUT AND WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE LAYOUT??? WHERE IS THIS LOCATED???? IS THIS OWNED BY A CLUB OR A PRIVATE LAYOUT ???? I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE OF THIS. THANKS FOR POSTING. GOOD JOB. GOOD WORK. SUPER FANTASTIC. THE BEST
Awesome layout and love the Pennsy! One suggestion......lose the round headed nails down the track center line. There are better ways to hold down track. They just ruin an otherwise great layout.
I've seen three, maybe four, videos of Ken's layout and have yet to see any passenger trains. I know there was at least one in each direction for the era he models between Buffalo and D.C. or Philly. So, why, Ken, and when?
I can only imagine the cost and time put into this layout and models that run on it? I'm guessing Thousands and thousands of dollars. That is why I keep my collection to a dozen Locomotives and couple of dozen rolling stock and run my models at a Railway Club. Use their power and expertise to improve on my stock
Jerry Davis I'm planning on building a layout(HO scale)albeit no where as large as this (11x 11room on modular tables)is, but I plan on keeping my HO club membership. I haven't counted, but I'm probably up to easily 20+ locomotives and I see how easy it is to continue buying. There's more Amtrak that I want, I like having pairs of diesels so dual Canadian Pacific, CN and either another BNSF locomotive or Santa Fe to go with my BNSF SD70ACe. So I've been on a buying spree since returning to the hobby in 2011 between HO and O scales. I totally understand your point, but this hobby is addictive!
Good idea to make a Old wagon with electronic counter and laser to little axle wheel.... How many kilometer of tracks ????? . Maybe World Record Longest model train tracks ?????
I'm not a fan of multi level layouts, it's hard enough to make any train in ho scale look small in scale alone leaving a space in between of 18-24 inches, I'm modeling PRR horseshoe curve, it real hard to make a centipede look small on the back of a coal train pushing ,my curve inside rail 9 ft across by 20 ft long with Bennington curve after that it's about 8 ft across 10ft long any tighter and you loose that look of nature's massiveness, to me a better thought about realism rather than 200 ft long trains
Kind of anti-climactic. You can't enter the Harrisburg/Enola area from the west and not see the Rockville Bridge. The longest stone arch bridge in the world!
Fantastic layout. Very realistic in every way.
Cool layout and I like the structures. Nice design and detail
The best cab ride, I have seen
Ah, the late ‘60s Penn Central. This is a beautiful railroad that took me back! So many scenes that I remember even here in W. PA.
Very impressive benchwork. Love the cantilever design of the upper levels. No supports to spoil the view of the trains and scenery.
Love the signals! Great ride.

Absolutely beautiful. Best cab view video I’ve seen so far. Thanks for sharing your passion.
Truly a great way to dig all this art and work... thanx for this (and all your vids)... cheers Bill
The details on the track bed and the surrounding areas is amazing. At a glance, it looks very real because of it. Great work!
You could take clips of this and show to some people and they would think it was full size real RR. Amazing.
Thats the labor of a lifetime. The buildings are incredible! That steel mill is massive!
Thank you for sharing this incredible railroad.
great layout love the attention to detail
Very well captured ride on this amazing model railway! Superb building structures around every corner with unbelievable number of points and wagons!
Best cab ride ever. Wow. Great job
This layout is amazing. Everywhere you look there is outstanding craftsmanship.
Very Impressive !

Love the auto carriers, when you could see all the new cars.
Some people have model railway tables, some people have miniature railways in their basement.
This guy has a rail network.
Very impressive Layout and models
Thanks for this video. The layout is magnificent. Good luck!
Always wonder how many years it takes to reach that level. GREAT!
Wish you neverending health, patience and what most important, space to continue...
Excellent layout, excellent video. Looking forward to seeing more.
What you see here is about 25 years worth of work. Railroad was started in Feb 1992.

Incredible job on the scenery. There was the odd time I had to remind myself that this is a model and not the real thing.
This wouldn't work for me... Cuz I don't know 30 people who would help me run it. Lol great stuff thanks for posting...
Incredible. Nice video Bill!
Amazing job on the scenery! This must have taken years to get this just right. :-)
Meraviglioso 😍

AWESOME DUD. K
Wonderful! Love the signals. Straightracks should be perfectly straight. Mine are.Would like to see a street running section.

The jerky camera is a bit annoying but incredible scenery & layout with just so much detail...excellent job!!
Are the type of signal lights used here supposed to represent In Cab control signals?

So I'm going to assume that those 'white bandaids' over the track were really wheel cleaners?

Why not put a lit visor over the camera lens to obscure that ceiling?

In addition, I've not seen anything more realistic.
Wonderful layout, what brand and code of track do you use?
Where is this beautiful layout - and how do I get an invite to an ops session???
Nice art an detail work howmany ft of track is their what is the grade how many bridges r there. K
that has to be over 1000ft of trackage..
Sure, saw a few minor questionable details, but they are insignificant compared to the praise of excellence.
Where is the sound ?
It's there. Were your speakers muted?
