Hi Steve, good to see you over You-tube again. With all of us stuck home and limited travel opportunities, it's nice to watch life overseas. Thank you for sharing and stay safe.
Nice to see you back again, steve. I like the weather there and enjoy watching your video so much, especially driving with campervan and staying overnight. Thank you so much.
That giggle when you were driving up the hill & saying you feel for the cars behind you! 🤣 Thank you for showing us the oyster place & the park. You’re right, the drive up is really scenic & is still charming on a gloomy day. And that parking spot at the park is perfect for kicking back in a camper van, looking out! The White Hippo life, one that we can only dream of in SG! Thanks for letting us live it through your channel. The oyster place reminds me of my days in Melbourne when I would eat fresh oysters at the standing oyster “bars” at the markets for under 2 AUD each. A small handful of restaurants in SG do sell under $2 “fresh” oysters but usually only on certain days/ at certain timings & the oysters tend to be pathetic in size 😩 I haven’t had fresh oysters often enough in SG due to the cost but it seems like while we do import oysters from many places they are always the briney varieties. I love briney oysters (mmmm taste like the ocean 🤤) but I also really like the sweet (not salty at all), creamy ones. Do they have those in NZ? Hope you do well in your remaining exams 👍🏼
Haha me too! Didn't get to each oysters too often in SG. I don't think I've ever tried the creamy ones you mentioned... (are they nice? Sorry keep imagining oysters with like creamy foam on them 😅) thank you as always for enjoying my video and leaving a comment Sylvia!

Hi Steve. Thanks for showing the surroundings. Oysters looks scrumptious, I'm sure it's full of flavours. By the way, you can always try to cook oysters omelette. Just scramble some eggs and fry them till almost done, then add oysters in and continue stir fry till done. Add some soy sauce for taste. Good luck on your exams and stay safe/healthy.
@@ReddotDiaries Not necessary to add starch. Normally you do find that most hawker do add starch to the oyster omelette, but there are some who does oyster omelette without this. Of course the price will be higher due to adding more eggs and oysters. Making oysters omelette requires you to prepare the eggs differently. By the way, the starch is used is actually Tapioca Starch and is added to water. Also you need to make sure the texture of the starch liquid is not too watery nor too thick, should be like that of full cream milk. If you do decide to try with the starch added, then you need the flame to be high for the starch to be partially cooked before adding the eggs (without scramble), then while the eggs is being cooked (fried) is when you break the yokes and spread them all all over the starch and stir (mix) them altogether. Only when these 2 ingredients is done do you add the oysters on the side to cook (the oysters) for a short while before mixing everything together. You need to add soy sauce on the oysters before mixing. If you like it spicy, you can try using belachan chilli paste as it is dry (with oil) by spreading the chilli with back of the spatula and spread all over the mixture. Another way (if you can't find the paste or you like to have chilli sauce added while eating) is to get chicken rice chilli sauce as this is sour in taste. The normal oyster omelette chilli sauce is made with chilli (blender-mashed) and lime/calamansi.

Hey Steve, Your Video randomly came across my feed. I am ex-singaporean living in Auckland now for over 30years. There are quite few places in AUckland that has good Malaysian food. Let me know if you wanna catch up over a curry laksa!
Would you happen to know of any recent vlogs of singaporeans life in NZ? Most that came up in search are like 2 years ago or more. Yours is the best latest! Very nice updates! 👍
Hey the speed limit here depends but it's pretty restrictive. And as for the mechanics I don't really know but when I service my car, the boss always complain young mechanics go to Australia to work so short man power..
Hey Anna, yeah they can. In fact surfing, fishing and golf all can without mask so long as outside. People here seem to have big resistance towards wearing a mask compared to sg.. personally I think its a small nuisance but most people take it off when outside. The one I dapao tasted really good too! Definitely worth it for $26
OK tbh I wasn't road hogging la. Probably going 70-80 which is the speed limit but on these rural roads lots of locals especially those driving trucks tend to drive pretty fast.. and I don't blame them tbh. The roads are so twisty and nice to drive!
Hey! Apparently it's not.. and it's not as strictly as enforced as SG.. no safe distancing ambassadors also 😅 I think people here are just getting really tired of lockdowns now. Imagine going through full CB again 😅 but it's almost over now!
wow, you ate a lot of oysters 🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪 How did you feel after that. I don't know how you even find these places..I'd never even heard of Clevedon and had to look it up on the map 🧐 oh my gosh NZ roads are so narrow (dangerous 😭). The campervan takes up the whole space. But at least everyone can see you well 😁
Fun fact - the plural of "sheep" is "sheep"! These words are known as "mass nouns" and do not have a plural form! And things in Singapore are pretty much the same as when you left, masks everywhere, WFH default, primary school is still on, 5 from the same household can eat together, but only 2 if you're not!
Hey Sean! Haha thank you for pointing that out. As I was editing it crossed my mind but what to do 😂 ahh ok thanks for the update on what's happening there. It actually sounds pretty similar to how it was when I left. I think I was a bit concerned from reading news about the number of deaths but understand most of them were u vaccinated or had other health issues. Either way please stay safe and take care!

I'm so excited for you about passing your first written.
I've honestly never tried oysters, they kinda scare me. 😆
Hey Trellyn, why why why would you not try oysters 😅 they're so yummy. Maybe you can try the fried ones first next time. Thank you! I was so stoked to pass and hope the next five won't be too hard. Take care!
@@ReddotDiaries I know...there is just something about them that my brain says, NOPE! If I'm ever given a chance to try the fried ones, I will in honor of you. 😉
I'm positive the next 5 will go smoothly! I got my fingers crossed for you!!!
@@trellbell don’t be afraid to try new foods. If you find you don’t like it you don’t have to have it again and all it’s cost you is a few minutes of your time and a few $. You might just find a new favourite that you will have for the rest of your life . From my experience you will have many many good experiences and only the odd bad one.
Nice video Steve.
Thank you!!
Miss the NZ scenery!!
Come visit next time!
Hey Steve, Your Video randomly came across my feed. I am ex-singaporean living in Auckland now for over 30years. There are quite few places in AUckland that has good Malaysian food. Let me know if you wanna catch up over a curry laksa!
Hey thank you and sorry for the late reply! And yes please do let me know! I would love to grab some good msian food and chat. You can email me too!
Nice video Steve. All the best for your exams.💪🏻
Thank you so much Lucas ☺
All the best with the rest of your exam papers! The examination will be over before you know it. Enjoy your video and the familiarity of your voice.
Thank you so much for wishing me luck and enjoying my videos!
very beautiful!=)
Yes agree 100%!
Nice video! Nice camper van.
Are car mechanics hard to find over there?
Whats the speed limit of the roads there?
Would you happen to know of any recent vlogs of singaporeans life in NZ? Most that came up in search are like 2 years ago or more.
Yours is the best latest! Very nice updates! 👍
When in Rome...
Hey the speed limit here depends but it's pretty restrictive. And as for the mechanics I don't really know but when I service my car, the boss always complain young mechanics go to Australia to work so short man power..
U too used to wear mask in SG..that why...can't get the habits off.😁😅
Yah exactly. Still got that habit 😅
Just wondering can people over there jog or cycle during the lockdown?
The oysters look good! and the one you da pao is really of a good deal!
Hey Anna, yeah they can. In fact surfing, fishing and golf all can without mask so long as outside. People here seem to have big resistance towards wearing a mask compared to sg.. personally I think its a small nuisance but most people take it off when outside. The one I dapao tasted really good too! Definitely worth it for $26
Very nice place ah steve
Ehh Clovis how are you 😆 yah very nice here. Come when border opens la
How slow are you driving? I’m curious. NZ is beautiful.
OK tbh I wasn't road hogging la. Probably going 70-80 which is the speed limit but on these rural roads lots of locals especially those driving trucks tend to drive pretty fast.. and I don't blame them tbh. The roads are so twisty and nice to drive!
Hi Steve, it isn't a must to wear mask outdoor, is it ? Take care, Stay safe.
Hey! Apparently it's not.. and it's not as strictly as enforced as SG.. no safe distancing ambassadors also 😅 I think people here are just getting really tired of lockdowns now. Imagine going through full CB again 😅 but it's almost over now!
Good too see kiwis on you tube!!
Thank you Brandon!
Any nice cafes around? I think once the border opens up, many Singaporeans will come and look for you at NZ to makan and chill. 🍰☕
Hahah the borders are going to open in April! So happy. And yes if you come can look for me for sure la 😂
Love your cap! Yishun is doing well and look forward to revisit. Stay safe and well and look forward to your next video :)
Hahaha that's great to know. Used to go there to ride my bike a lot ☺
wow, you ate a lot of oysters 🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪 How did you feel after that.
I don't know how you even find these places..I'd never even heard of Clevedon and had to look it up on the map 🧐
oh my gosh NZ roads are so narrow (dangerous 😭). The campervan takes up the whole space. But at least everyone can see you well 😁
Haha yeah you know i can eat a lot 😋
@@ReddotDiaries Healthy appetite 😁
melu boooos ☕🔔
Don’t you just miss oyster omelette back in SG? Or oyster misua from Shilin.
I really do! I think its one of those dishes that should be easy enough for me to cook so going to look that up!
may be check if aircon gas needs a top up, get into the basic check first.
I think that's the problem also.. hope its not going to be too ex :(
Fun fact - the plural of "sheep" is "sheep"!
The boy who made the tempura oysters is kinda cute...
😂😂😂
always present sis ☕🔔
Thank you!☺
Can ask them to do oysters omelette ?
No la where got 😂 although if they sold them I think it can be quite popular
Enjoy that NZ seafood price bro hahaha
😂😂 spent almost $50 including that smoothie 😓
Stock up chilli sauce in your campervan!
I'm definitely going to do that!
Do you feel more energetic after the oysters lol
Hahahaha u know what I mean 😂
