- On this special episode, Busta Rhymes comes through the trap to tell us about his new album but first he tells the story of the birth of hip hop in the way only Busta can!
ele2.bustarhym...
Karlous, DC and Chico get into some of Busta's most iconic moments in our culture. All the way back to leaders of the new school to his film appearances on films like Higher Learning, the squad breaks it all down.
Busta gets into WooHaa! and how he crafts his famous intro adlibs and Busta breaks down his process and he shows love to some of his favorite rappers that are female like - Rah Digga, Rapsody, and Lauryn Hill.
Spliff Starr is also in the building and Busta shares the story of their friendship, how it came to be and what's been keeping it going.
Busta's style of rapping is unique and tells the story of his rap battle with Jay-z who was also rapping fast at the time.
Busta's history lesson goes all the way back to Dancehall culture and he recognizes the influence of Shabba Ranks, Professor Nuts, Ninja Man and others and explains where he found the inspiration for some of his own elements of showmanship.
Busta breaks down how Chris Lighty started Violator records and how many of the record labels we've come to know were birthed. Plus, Busta shares the stories of making music and music videos with the queens, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson. This is the coldest podcast!

Bruh, Busta always been on that next level extraterrestrial stuff. I LOVE this man's career. This dude, amongst others, make me LOVE growing up in the 90s. Music really isn't what it used to be that's why I'm so happy to see him and others still writing the rules to the game.

@Jewel Dazzle I thought that too but then I rethought and realized people like him who try to finish someone’s sentences can actually be helpful. They can help someone complete a thought or help someone spark up another thought based off of whatever word they just said. So I think DC should continue to be himself in doing so.
They respect him 🤝 Salute the young 👑 knowing how to listen to a wise 👑

This is one of the rare occasions where someone meets their hero and it's a wholesome experience.
I can tell Busta Rhymes is a gentleman. The way he speaks about women. How he researched Janet’s favorite flowers etc. That’s a solid guy
Yea and he’s very wise
Women these days don't respect that🏌️♀️
I am cool with this legend and some people on his camp. He is a very respectful man especially to women. I used to date one of his best friends for a few years. I will never forget my guy and I got into a disagreement and Busta talked us off of a ledge from breaking up. He was literally about to go on stage; minutes from it here in Chicago at the House of Blues. He sat us down & literally schooled us on relationships & love before he went on. The relationship lasted a few years after. This was years ago but it turned out to be a life lesson. I love & appreciate him, people in his camp, Spliff until this day for it. He is very wise, caring and knowledgeable. Till this day I will never forget his lesson he gave me & his boy on love. I hold it near & dear to my heart until this second.
