Well tbf ur Chinese is Cantonese accented. It’s fine though, mainland Chinese people also cannot understand my Chinese because I have the singaporean accented Chinese. differences.

No we don't normally learn sign language. Cathay foreign based crew don't need to be able to speak Cantonese but English and one Asian language.
