@@EthNet34756 Yeah, I can see it not being for everyone, for me as well the gameplay itself is the least appealing aspect of it but if the story and sound design is great I'm willing to just play it like a simple Visual Novel if anything.
It's very addicting lol
It's an intersting game, but it has some issues with translation. A lot of it is just super-awkward phrasing, but there are some real headscratchers here and there that can make following the plot... difficult. The weirdest part is how they seem to have made the VAs not deviate from the script even little bit. They're all english speakers I suppose, so they KNOW what they're saying is occasionally just pure Chinglish.
As for the chibified battle graphics, I don't mind them, and it being turn-based is *chefs kiss* which also is one of the primary reasons I was drawn to Star Rail.

It's so cool that you get what and who character is and what they've been through right off the bat just by listening to the music and read the lyrics
For the context (yes, I read Reverse 1999's story and it's pretty good) Druvis III is the daughter of a wood distributor family, she's also an Arcanist (a species of human who possess magic power), she got that from her mother, fast foward into the timeline where we met her, her family's business went bankrupt because of the new policy, then both of her parents were killed in a fire which people somehow blame it on her for her being an arcanist (WHILE THEY OVERLOOK THE 20 GALLONS OF GASOLINE), and now, she carried those burden around on her shoulder, still mourning for the lost of both fortune and family, but she's also ready to break out of it and stepping toward a brighter future
Her story really is tragic. I love her - hoping to pull her.
You also forget to mention that she's also speaking of her past burdens that she's been carrying to offer Vertin that she, Druvis, is willing to carry Vertin's burdens as well. "I'll carry all the scars, I'm strong enough for yours." Just goes to show how much team timekeeper really cares about and are grateful to Vertin

Aaaah I'm so glad that you covered R:1999! It's been on my watchlist for a while, and the upcoming global release has got me all excited. The game's overall production quality is outstanding! From the captivating trailers to the superb voice acting and, of course, the beautifully crafted music that fits the game's setting so perfectly. I hope Bluepoch continues to deliver masterpieces like this. If the glimpses we've got so far are any indication, it'll be great!

Since this and the other EP (Regulus) they released were both composed by Adam who does so much of the Arknights stuff I'm really looking forward to what else comes from it.

I believe i am quite late to the party but consider me an anonymous whose admiration for Druvis III is of the greatest!
For context to the EP, it is as you said that the lyrics focuses on rebirth or moving forward and it surprises me that you were able to guessed it correctly!
Druvis III is one of the many tragic characters whose past was ruined by humanity in Reverse 1999. Druvis III came from a family that owns a forestry company that sells wood, that which makes Druvis III a broke aristocrat. At the time of 1929 if i recall correctly, Druvis III tried everything she could to stop her family and other consumers from buying anymore wood as she is an Arcanist that hears the pain and whimpers of the woods. Unfortunately, it all ended on a combusted node: as her parents gather around a location of a colossal tree with two or three consumers that were interested in aunctioning the wood, a fire overcame and everyone surrounding that colossal tree bite the dust. Druvis III was there but was not affected by the enlarging inferno and was subjected into questioning by interviewers for the press of newspapers during a funeral, i believe? Druvis III was blamed, faults were point at her saying "she cast the flame in vengeance." Druvis III tried her best to clarify and vilify her innoncence, nobody listened.
Druvis III then joined a group of Arcanists bunch named "Manus Vindictae", in hopes that she could search for the truth of why the colossal tree combusted out of the blue. It was thanks to Vertin that Druvis III is convinced to turn to another side of a new leaf and move forward.
On top of all the contexts, Druvis III is a wand maker expert! She can carve and craft using the branches given by trees that do not need it anymore, very neat!
I have listened to this EP countless times as i am able to empathize on Druvis III predicament but the moving forward might take years... Anyways, bestest EP to have ever created! Thank you for listening to Druvis III and Reverse 1999 greatest creation, credits to the actual composer though, quite the talent!

Been following this game for a while. What hooked me is the music, lore, and art style. Reminds me of Umbrella Academy. I love jazz and funk which this games seem to have a lot of so I'm quite biased. I recommend "Between The Rain And The Times" from the same game as well, it's the first music I've heard from the game. As well as " ReReReRegulus."
I just hope I'll love the combat mechanics.

I sorta imagine the story of a young beautiful heiress of some obscenely wealthy industrialist being driven in her father´s coach build Duesenberg, as the streetlamps illuminate her face.
I haven't watched the full vid and skipped some parts so maybe you mentioned this, but I'd like to note that this was composed by the producer for The Greatest Showman. He's not the composer for the movie, but just a little fun fact.

I have this game. Played it the moment I was able to. Aside from a few weird bits in the dialogue, the game is fantastic. I do not regret playing this game in the slightest. The music is also amazing.

@@chaosinfernoid9008 The game is really generous yeah, you should mind which character you're going for in future 6* Banners tho, Gacha has 50/50 Mechanics so it can get a bit tough if you fail to get the 6* on the first go.
So refreshing to have more anime games that arent just "medieval era good", starting to hype this one ngl.

Just a suggestion because you did Nier songs; Drakengard series as quite a few gems in it that you might enjoy. My favorite is Drakengard 2's "Symphonic Poem Forbidden Prelude". :)

I recently found this game and its music really surpised me as its surprisngly diverse and emotional.
each song feels like it has a story and past to it which seems pretty on theme considering all the time travel

@@anmoldembla4743 I'm not quite sure, but I believe this specific music video isn't copyrighted as another fairly well known music analyst who goes by the name "DrumRollTony" has recently created a video on it and seems to have had no issue thus far. Please correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm not that familiar with the copyright process.
