Hilarious when people have this romantic idea about sex and relationships. All relationships between men and women are transactional and men are always paying for sex, in one form or another. I've been in the game for many years and sometimes I prefer the direct transaction, avoids all the games and time wasting that comes with regular dating.

The women of yester year stayed with said man as long as it was the best way for them to survive. Once equality and feminism was introduced and they were able to survive without men they took that deal and left the men. Your parents and grandparents relationships may have had some love in it but the base of the relationship was built on survival more so than love. In fact I would add that romance messed up relationships between men and women due to the inconsistency that comes with emotions and feelings in contrast to actual duty !
