I agree when she says aid should be a catalytic/facilitator not a solution.

She's not advocating government control, she's advocating cooperation among ALL sectors. Government, investors, and philanthropists all sitting down together and saying: what is the best path, the best plan. And much more importantly than private vs public sector or your libertarian question of government protection of rights, much more important than all of that is: all of the decisions regarding investment and trade in Africa MUST be made by Africans.

Good talk. Just unfortunate to use the examples of aid to Ireland and Spain now that these countries have huge problems repaying debts...

The 'single story' is not a problem; the the 'same story' is not aproblem too when the same occurrences being told happen over and over again.
The single story is just a whisper of peoples thoughts, and thoughts are cognitive.

Even though the country is not necessarily in need of it. Do u know how many jobs for the unskilled in the villages could be created if they came to tour and not take pictures with us. Ngozi was in warfare when she had the aid given to her. Most african countries arnt ad yet aid flows in like water, further stealing job opportunities. While ngozi talk about the main issues that arise. Chima talks about where it starts from the root cause of the problem.

Okehnzeh sorry oh! But Nigerians were polled about the question of Unity and about 75% of Nigerians do support one Nigeria. She was a supporter of Biafra if you need to know and at the very least, she will open up the dialogue about moving us forward.

Why do people alway have this need to compare two people (Ngozi and Adichie) who aren't even comparing thmselves. These two women are equally intelligent and smart and both have the same goal : to present a more positive picture of Nigeria and Africa. But they present it from different perspectives. So lets stop this childish game of comparism

Chimamanda is a book writer ngozi is the director of the world bank. What chimamanda is saying is what the average african wants and says. Do u know how much investments could be made in africa which would bring in greater reward to africans that aid could never do that has been blocked out due to the concept of africans. Do u know how shocked people are in the west of my very being. Every one i talk to only go to africa to give aid and not tourism.

Look this woman was one of the very few success story of Obasanjo. I dont care what she was paid; at least she was not stealing it like most of our current leaders. by the way, shes not advocating for government owned programs. Shes actually talking about the private indivuals working for themselves to build a small economy.

17:00 Kendake Ngozi asked, "How can we leverage all of this good will that is coming to us?" The first thing to recognize is that it is not good will. It is re-colonization & re-enslavement. The main issue is that Africans are to reticent about accepting that they must build a Pan-African system. This system must be a global power, able to dictate terms & agreements in its own interests. If this does not happen, the result is genocide, which if you haven't noticed, is presently occurring.

Sorry Minister Ngozi for not, essentially and entirely, sharing your views on aid. I agree that, in many instances, foreign aid has proved to be a "one way affair". The "aiding" country has generally one thing in mind: "What will I get out of it? This is unfortunately too true and too significant of "human nature". Now, I believe that, rather than dwell too long on the dark aspects of "post-colonialism" features, one ought to seek the solution to get Africa out of the quagmire. Maybe if you would consider reading my latest publication on LinkedIn, you might agree to give me your frank and considerate opinion on its contents.www.linkedin.com/pulse/live-free-decently-peacefully-george-sabat I thank you in anticipation for helping me in this important matter, should you consider advising me.

I meant her speech sums up problems and possible solutions to the continent, unlike Chimamanda's-talked of what happens in other countries and affects a very small %age of Africans and is not applicable in the continent.
Her speech is backed up with facts, quantifiables, logics and not fiction or ficticious stories and a fairy tales as Chimamanda. Lol.
Compare the way both ladies dress-who's wearing African? Who's wearing American?-who has 'African authenticity'?

No, look at what happened to USA when you get a monopoly of protection of rights.
The people can sell security services and and infrastructure volountary. That way their is accountability without bloodshed. Just take your business somewhere else, that is real accountability.
