Unfortunately I don't think he fights O'malley. I think Chito beats O'malley, Merab beats Cejudo, Merab then beats Chito for title, and Cory has to fight Merab for title
@@rooibosvanille862 well it can't just be forgotten that chito has already beat o'malley. I think this handpicked matchup will backfire for the UFC just like it did for Adesanya-Strickland
You should definitely pin a comment with time stamps that document each question asked so that you aren't constantly answering each question every 10k subs. Especially with how much care and thoughtfulness you put into each question. Thanks for the work as always Cory, hope to see you fighting soon 100%
How do you schedule your training(Strength and Conditioning, road work, striking, etc),do you train bjj and wrestling seperately or do you train grappling as a whole? What should someone that doesn't more than 2 hours to train per day do to REALLY elevate their skills and conditioning?
Are you trying to take the NMF title from Wonderboy!? I was watching this and my wife was like “this guy is the sweetest and nicest fighter ive ever seen!” You’ve got a new fan buddy bro
hey cory, love you as a human and the content you put out in the world. been binging your channel and was wondering if we could get some round by round breakdowns of your past fights from as early as you want to start, would love to hear what you were thinking or why you have certain footwork, reads you picked up on, tendencies you try to avoid or use to your advantage, etc. would just love to hear your mind go into depth on your fights all the way through each round, much love from maryland 🤙🏻
All the best from my son and I. He just turned 15 and been wrestling and training mma for 2 years now. Huge inspiration to him and also me. All the best.
This one's pretty broad, so feel free to focus in on any aspect that's interesting. Can you explain why boxing looks so different from MMA striking? For example you see even good strikers like Petr Yan or Volkanovski stepping through on their strikes, which seems a lot less prevalent in boxing. There's also a lot more stance switching, it seems like far less combos thrown in MMA, etc. Interested in hearing your perspective on the causes of these differences.
Hey Cory, what techniques do you think are widely taught that are ineffective and what techniques or concepts would you recommend focusing on the most for both striking and grappling?
Cory, I'm a fan of yours, your technique is amazing. I want to communicate with you, you are a very good person. You have a lot of fans in Kazakhstan, know this! 🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿
Love your content man, great technical breakdowns, super easy to understand. What point in your fighting career did you choose your style & what was the process of building it like?
What led to your sudden increase in social media presence? Years ago when you only had a twitter that didn’t get used and you were still flying under the radar I knew a little more internet engagement would put you over the top and give fans like myself more insight into their favorite fighter.
I wish we were getting to see you vs O'malley. The both of you are respectfully my favorite MMA fighters. Not just good striking but high fight IQ, insane ability, able to get into flow states, diverse MMA versatility. I really enjoy watching you both compete. Stay awesome 👍🏼 You destroyed Chito. You deserve a title shot.
Hey Cory - can you please breakdown body shots? You're known for them and I'd like to know how to get in to land them effectively as a longer fighter, specifically throwing a naked lead body hook.
Will you hold off for the winner of Sean O’Malley and Chito Vera? We all hope you do. You deserve it especially because you always are willing to fight anybody. Chito also said he would ask for you to be his first defense, plus we all wanna see you fight O’Malley too, so either matchup would be a winner for any fan of yours. I see you beating both of them.
What are your opinions on the "constant shooting" style of wrestling in MMA, where you use shoot even "bad" shots just to force wrestling activity where you have a technical and cardio advantage - vs the more traditional, measured, "waiting for good openings" style of wrestling? What should one consider when deciding which style is best for them, and what are your thoughts on the respective metas?
Thanks a lot for your videos! Great stuff! What is your thought process when fighting (thinking about set ups? Thinking about your opponents openings? Thinking about where your opponent is hitting and how to adjust? Etc…). And how actively are you actually thinking vs just letting your muscles memory and your reflexes do the work? Thanks again!
Your amazing Cory. My favorite fighter and your an inspiration! Wanted to know what your favorite striking move is? Keep doing your thing future champ!
whats the story of your back tattoo and what was the inspiration for it? Did you get addicted to tattoos when you got your first one? thanks for the videos cory!
How would you compare or describe your level of understanding of mma to that of Jon Jones. I ask because when I watch Jon Jones fight, hes always steps ahead of his opponents and always knows what do. Much like you. Thanks!
What gear would you recommend investing in for practicing techniques at home? What style or brand of bag for striking? There are so many options and a lot of them are expensive!
I believe the next time you get a crack at the title. You will be fighting O'Malley and you will win. However much like Moreno & Figurado. The rest of the division is going to be held up because you're going to drop it back to him in the rematch. You two are going to go on to have three or more of the most technical striking & elite strategic grappling these fans will ever witness! Mark My Words!
What are some secrets to fighting your rangey/movey-guy style? I'm similar and am still working on staying long. Besides using the jab/teep to build off of, what other tips do you have for taking advantage of our style?
Is there any merit to catching strikes with the point of your elbow? For example your opponent likes to dart in with a jab, can you meet the fist with the tip of your elbow to hurt his hand?
Can you explain why sidekicks to the thigh and body arent used much in mma? To my lamen eyes it seem like one the longest weapons where you dont have to overcommit with it and wonderboy has quite a bit of success with it.

For those of us 40+ trying to fight amateur only, what techniques offense and defense would you recommend working on that aren't reliant on athleticism and reaction time?
Just watched your interview on Ariels show, really great insight. I was wondering what caused you to move away from religion? I have no religion myself so this isn't a loaded question or owt, was just wondering the thought process in you making such a decision. Only just subscribed so looking forward to checking out your content!
Hey Cory huge fan! I want to do one amateur fight, then stop training, just to know if I have it in me to get in a cage and fight while I’m young. How long should I train before my first/only fight?
I smoked cigarettes for 10 years, age 33 now. I have always done some kind of training so my cardio is surprisingly not THAT bad but I do notice the younger guys in Muay Thai class have way better gas tanks than me. My advice would be just smoke on special occasions if you really dont want to completely give it up.
so next Q&A is tomorrow. Sweet.
