      Hi there, I am really enjoying your vlogs. You both give off a lot of good vibes. I had a thought that you could spill back some of the excess pump flow from the pump discharge to the drum so that you create the net flow you need to not deplete the reservoir. Hope this makes sense. Regards

    Yo! I did the same thing. Same setup. BUT. My kit came with 2, 100 watt panels and a controller. I put a car battery in a battery box and the pump uses the battery and it’s set to pump for 2 hours and then off for 30 min. My pump will pump all day, stop completely at night, and start again at dawn. The battery acts as capacity for the pump to run. Love watching your channel. Keep up the hard work! Don’t forget to put a shut off float on your pump so when the barrel empties it will shut pump off till barrel fills again. 😁😁😁

    you may need a stand pipe to provide pressure... the stand pipe if steel could be up to 24 inches in diameter and 15 feet high with a screen and solar panel cap...the water would be screened and deliver water under pressure to 60 lbs with gravity feeding the head pressure...and plate at the bottom can encapsulate the pipe and reduce to 1 inch ball valve to your buried pipe in the ground the bigger the better then deliver the fresh water to the homestead may have to drag it in but once you stand it up it will have a good source of head pressure and reserve build a small building around it to assure the critters are kept at bay...as well as temps

    Ah, my favorite canadian youtube couple, I pray that all goes well. I always look forward to spring as I am so dang old and hurt where new hurts just don't get my attention anymore. I see this struggle, wish that there was a stream on the property close and easy to maintain. I worry that some day a bear will be a mean one and its never good when they are. Of course, spring makes for those hungry bears and right now they are looking for a bedroom, not conflicts so there is that. I just want you in the home you built and warm. So spirits high and hopes of a wonderful christmas maybe??

    Simple..just do all the outdoor stuff..I suggest you build Removable Panels made of 2x2 -2 ft x 4ft..tack an Alu Foil on it..it will keep the temp going below Zero..below the house the water tank..keep it above 50..maybe install a heater or mini stove for the Nights when it goes below -20..Maybe have 2 summer panels just a mosquito net and frame..To make it look cute, add a trellis to it...with planters around the house..climbing vines that give Raisins.

    • @ThisOffGridLife

    • @ThisOffGridLife

      We pay our government for water usage, and we have a right to a certain amount of water from that spring

    • @ThisOffGridLife
      @ThisOffGridLife  Год назад +1

      Sure, we pay an annual fee for rights to take a certain amount of water, anyone taking surface water here should have one. No one enforces it unless you are caught for some reason, but if you don't get the license and someone else does get the license, they could then have first rights to use the water and you may lose out on the access to that water

    • @silvursprings
      @silvursprings Год назад

      Interesting, thank you for the explanation! I think certain states out west may have similar regulations. In the eastern half of the U.S. most states concur that if the water is on your land then it is inherently yours, no need to pay to use your own water. However, there are laws that state you may not unnaturally block the water from flowing onto other's lands thereby depleting their supplies or cause unnatural water flow onto other's land. Water...so weird. lol Take care 😊
