Please tell Betsey her hair looks lovely. I am trying to grow out my hair from a pixie cut that I have had for the last 10 years. I can't wait till my hair gets to her length.
Another fun filled episode! Laugh out loud moment = “if my head was on backwards I’d have a flat stomach”, what a visual 😂 Love the colour choices you made for your sweater Kim.
The lupine and hummingbird designs are so lovely! The mittens! Everything was enjoyable, as always. I chuckled aloud with the measurements discussion when Kim described her head on backwards! No matter which way my head is on, there's not much flat landscape! 😊
Always love to catch up on what you girls are doing, and love all the stories and info all sorts of things! Birds, flowers, yarns, the knits. Thank you for sharing it all!!! 🧶🥰
Betsy is right! The math lies and my gauge swatches lie. Maybe I have finally learned not to add the number of underarm stitches the patterns say. It’s always too many. I always appreciate the joy and laughter that runs all through your episodes.
Amazing to see the hummingbirds. They look so exotic. It must be lovely to have lupins everywhere. They are difficult to grow here because of the slugs and snails. All your work is gorgeous, I really love those mittens and the colours of the yarn for your sweater is gorgeous. I think that the Henley is going to be such a wearable garment. 🇬🇧
Great episode! Simone, the hummingbird cowl! ❤❤❤ Kim you make me laugh, and love the tip for purling the first row after long tail cast on, might be my new go to. Betsy, the rose is amazing! Now i need to make one, just because 😁
Lovely episode, ! Betsy your hair is wondeful !!! A little trick for Kim and waist shaping, I got it from my "Stick Season" sweater by Rebecca Clow, this great designer added 10 stitches of 2x2 ribbing on each side of the sweater, It gave me perfect fit just where needed without any stress, I think I will add this trick on any of my future fitted sweater. Thanks to Ken for the Hummingbirds.
The Texas Blue Bonnet is just like our lupins . So someone sent me some flower seeds for Texas Blue Bonnets from Texas and they grew for me herein Canada and also bloomed. So I stuck a little Canadian Flag by my Blue Bonnets. Just had to brag a bit. Love your podcasts all the time.
Oh, such beautiful projects! Just bought the hummingbird.we just have a couple that visit us but I’ve always loved them. Kim those mittens are lovely. If Betsy’s sleeves don’t work, she can rip them off and make a sleeves top. 😊
Thanks Kim, Simone and Betsy. I do enjoy spending time with you. The new blanket blocks are so timely. Our lupines are bloomingvv here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Love the Hummingbird Cowl. I do hope those measurements work out Kim and Betsy!!
Another wonderful podcast gals! I'm especially enjoying the sweater reconstruction segement. Simone, the cowl in delightful and Betsy your hair is gorgeous.
Simone I absolutely LOVE your new Hummingbird cowl, I am in Alberta and still waiting for my hummingbirds to show up, love watching them. I will be making this cowl. Thank You.
Another GREAT episode!!! I LOVE the new square and I also really love Simone's hummingbird!!! I might try to substitute it for the lobster since we have hummingbirds here, but not lobsters! And, Betsy even snuck in a book recommendation to this podcast!
With the Top down sweater book, the guide says to put a wooden spoon or length of dowel in your armpit to ascertain your back width and to measure the depth of the armhole.
I lol so hard when Kim said she has a flat behind. It made me think about my mom. She is also flat in the rear lol. Someone once said she has a behind like a "wasklip" - a flat stone on which laundry was washed in the old days lol.
Always enjoy your podcast. Just an fyi, it was Dottie Angel, aka Tiff Fussell, a very talented knitter, published author, and artist who coined the phrase wooly tattoo back in the early 2000’s. She had a great blog in the era of blogs and her embroidery on wool is gorgeous. She still has an online presence; I would encourage everyone to check out her work.
I want to knit ALL OF THE STUFF😁. I love your knits and podcasts. I'm on the 2024 Blanket wagon. I ordered 3 months of yarn in January, started the first design and stopped at 10 rows. I picked it up again and in less than 2 weeks I am about to complete my 3rd square! Of course, I didn't swatch and my squares are 11x11. I'm going to make the Ruby cowl and the songbird gloves and also several items in Laine. oh....Simone had the paper doll sweater on, that too! I need to knit faster!
You sound like me! Yes you need to knit faster. LOL The beauty of the blanket squares is it doesn't matter what size they are as long as you have them all the same size (12 inches, 11 inches - doesn't matter).
Love the design your own sweater. You gave me the courage to start my own. I’m remaking a wool sweater I bought ages ago and loved. Set in sleeves with a shawl collar.
You guys crack me up. I was watching and my husband was doing a mindless game at the same time, and we both laughed at the idea that if your head was turned around that you would have a flat stomach. All joking aside we all need to engineer patterns to fit our own bodies, Mine had gotten a little rounder in my senior years. One other thing that messes me up is that my gauge swatch is always lighter than my actual garment. I take this into consideration as well. Sometimes I change my needle size to accommodate my enlarger or reduce circumference measurements within the garment I am knitting. There is nothing on the rack that fits this body size I have now, so I sew and knit what fits. And I enjoy every minute of it. Great show. 🧶🇨🇦
Great podcast. I’m in NewZealand and in the South Island lupines grow wild along the roads and tourists take photos of them with a background of our mountains. They are also noxious weeds here too. They don’t grow in North Island. Watch every podcast always have a laugh and learn something too. Enjoy your Summer.
Ladies - comfrey will take over; however, if you have mosquitoes and are bothered by the bites - take a leaf of comfrey and rub it over the bite. It will feel rough but it will lessen the sting of the bite. Tried and proven, here in Alberta.
Love the blanket blocks! And the humming bird cowl. It could have been a motif for the blanket blocks as well. I am one of the people that stopped even looking at the Laine magazine because though the colour work may have been beautiful, or the colour combos , the designs themselves were not wearable. And when you pay so much for the magazine who wants to modify the patterns?? This one does look lovely! Thank you for showing slides of it. The humming birds at your feeder are probably both males and not yet mated to their female partners so there will be rivalry.
17:53 I had to interrupt watching to buy Simone’s hummingbird pattern. ❤❤❤ I love these birds; I get fuschias in hanging baskets every year because these little creatures love them. Oh! I love hummingbirds. Thank you Simone. PS we are having cool sweater weather here in the Adirondacks, too. I adore it. I’d so much druther wear a sweater than suffocate in summer heat, awfulness. I love wearing sweaters!
We can plant long weekend in May. My favourite temperatures are 18 to 25. Recently we had 14 degrees, 26 degrees and now back to 14. I have a friend who doesn't mow her one field? Until the lupins finish. It is the most beautiful field. I live in Bella Coola, BC.
Kim, Simone & Betsy...You are fabulous! Your knits, projects, book choices, yarns & accessories are brilliant! I especially enjoy the interaction among the three of you! I absolutely LOVE the Embroidery on Knits book, too! Betsy, would you share the Embroidery Podcast from the Netherlands? I couldn't find it on RUclips. Thanks for another wonderful podcast!!❤
Kim - I sent you an email about measuring for upper torso and full bust. I was introduced to this concept by Amy Herzog Custom Fit and from some sewing intructional videos, too. Eager to hear your follow up.
I found Knitted Bliss at Knit City Toronto and bought a stick and stitch kit to use embroidery. When I got home, I saw a shop in PEI with similar products for embroidery- Unraveling Joy Embroidery. Are you familiar? I’m excited to try embroidery on mittens first I think.
Kim you and Simone and Betsy just make me feel good. The blanket blocks are are beautiful as are all if you projects. Thank you
You are so very welcome!
Please tell Betsey her hair looks lovely. I am trying to grow out my hair from a pixie cut that I have had for the last 10 years. I can't wait till my hair gets to her length.
Betsy reads the comments most episodes. She will see your compliment. Thanks for watching!
You guys are so much fun. I want to visit PEI just because of you.
Me too!!
Awww thanks!
As an islander this makes me so happy
You three are just SO good together, you can see the deep friendship you have. Fab projects💖
I am truly blessed to work with Betsy and Simone!

Another fun filled episode! Laugh out loud moment = “if my head was on backwards I’d have a flat stomach”, what a visual 😂 Love the colour choices you made for your sweater Kim.
It's a true story - flat as board on the back end! LOL
The lupine and hummingbird designs are so lovely! The mittens! Everything was enjoyable, as always. I chuckled aloud with the measurements discussion when Kim described her head on backwards! No matter which way my head is on, there's not much flat landscape! 😊
Bahah!
Always love to catch up on what you girls are doing, and love all the stories and info all sorts of things! Birds, flowers, yarns, the knits. Thank you for sharing it all!!! 🧶🥰

Lupines are sometimes not easy to grow in a garden. I think they like to be a little neglected and have damp feet.
Love your podcasts! Your laughter is infectious. I learn so much from all of you!
Yay!!
😂are fun and joyful 🥰 so inspiring on the fun with the projects but the farm, I do so love.❤
Yay! Thanks for watching!
Hello Ladies from Swansea, Illinois.
Hello from Belfast PEI!
Thanks for another episode that makes me smile
Like the ruby cowl
Oh - that's nice. We love it when we make people smile!
Great episode! Simone, the hummingbird cowl! ❤❤❤ Kim you make me laugh, and love the tip for purling the first row after long tail cast on, might be my new go to. Betsy, the rose is amazing! Now i need to make one, just because 😁
Thanks for watching and commenting Karen! That rose is really something.
Again, thank you for sharing your friendship, laughter and projects with us. This podcast is very enjoyable.❤
Thank you! We are glad when folks enjoy it!

Magnificent Hummingbird 🐦⬛🐦🕊️
He is a stunner!
I laughed so much!! All the projects are gems. Thank you for everything.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You all had me laughing several times. Thanks for another fun podcast.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh, such beautiful projects! Just bought the hummingbird.we just have a couple that visit us but I’ve always loved them. Kim those mittens are lovely. If Betsy’s sleeves don’t work, she can rip them off and make a sleeves top. 😊
Ha! She could have a sleeveless top and a really great scarf!
Japanese Knotwood is also a remedy for Lyme disease. Love your show❤.
Oh... cool!
Ladies you are funny and so creative. Simone I bought the Hummingbird cowl but I will knit it as a pillow! Thank you for giving your time ❤
Oh - great idea!
Loved the choice of music for Harmony part!
Thanks!
Such a great podcast, as usual! ❤❤❤ Loved each segment. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much!
We hope so too!

You go Betsy, I can't wait to see the conclusion of "Hunger games Garden".
LOL!
Simone I absolutely LOVE your new Hummingbird cowl, I am in Alberta and still waiting for my hummingbirds to show up, love watching them. I will be making this cowl. Thank You.
Yay! We are so happy you like it!
Ooo! My favorite podcast! I love all of you. I hope to one day make a visit to the PEI fiber festival. Thank you all for what you do. ❤
You must come!
Love your hair today, Becky!!
Thanks!
Another GREAT episode!!! I LOVE the new square and I also really love Simone's hummingbird!!! I might try to substitute it for the lobster since we have hummingbirds here, but not lobsters! And, Betsy even snuck in a book recommendation to this podcast!
Yes she did! The hummingbird would have totally worked in the blanket too!
Dandelions are yummy though and make great tea, and the pollinators love it. And wine.
Yes! Not let us forget the wine!
With the Top down sweater book, the guide says to put a wooden spoon or length of dowel in your armpit to ascertain your back width and to measure the depth of the armhole.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I’m starting to see lupins popping up all around me in Nova Scotia. Love them.
We do too! So cheery!
I lol so hard when Kim said she has a flat behind. It made me think about my mom. She is also flat in the rear lol. Someone once said she has a behind like a "wasklip" - a flat stone on which laundry was washed in the old days lol.

Love the little hummers❤️
They are so tiny. It kind of makes my heart break a little - they work so hard!
Love the design your own sweater. You gave me the courage to start my own. I’m remaking a wool sweater I bought ages ago and loved. Set in sleeves with a shawl collar.
Yay! Nice to have company on this journey.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes it seems making your own things is the way to go!
Oh, I have that Embroidery On Knits book. I'm absolutely in love with the fern fronds. I'm making a plain something right now so I can add that fern.
It's a gorgeous book!

Noxious weeds... I am feeling the same way about Lily of the Valley - even though I planted them in my garden. I only have myself to blame!

Oh - that's a good tip!
Betsy, your crochet rose is beautiful. I'd love to try a felted version. ooh, and maybe you could needle felt the petals in place.
Oh! I bet you could do it in felting!
Love the blanket blocks! And the humming bird cowl. It could have been a motif for the blanket blocks as well. I think Laine is back on track and I am so happy! We actually have two females and one male that are visiting the feeder (as far as we can tell).
17:53 I had to interrupt watching to buy Simone’s hummingbird pattern. ❤❤❤ I love these birds; I get fuschias in hanging baskets every year because these little creatures love them. Oh! I love hummingbirds. Thank you Simone.

We hope you enjoy knitting the Hummingbird Cowl!
You can knit the thumb using two circulars at the same time
Yes - I should try that the next time!
That cowl is beautiful 😻
It is super sweet and soooo cozy

Sounds a lot like here!
The hummingbirds footage was so lovely (perfect music too!!). Are they two different species? I was wondering if that is why they don't want to share.
They are the same species. The males have the red throats and the females just have the buff-grey chest and throat.
you can embroider little french knots in the middle of each hexie.
Oh wow - the crochet is enough for now! LOL
The RUclips channel that Betsy was referring to is "It's a Sarah".
Thanks!❤
Kim, I did a quick measurement of my upper bust and my regular bust. I am fairly busty and I have 3 inches difference. Bra size is 38 DD. Go figure!
A bit larger than mine, so maybe the just over and inch in the difference makes sense?
Kim - I sent you an email about measuring for upper torso and full bust. I was introduced to this concept by Amy Herzog Custom Fit and from some sewing intructional videos, too. Eager to hear your follow up.
Yes - thank you!
Yes I k now who she is. She is actually coming to the PEI Fibre Festival.
The blanket squares are stunning. How do Simone and Betsy design them? Could they be changed into crochet patterns? I am a crocheter! Thank you!
They are pretty creative and are inspired by what is around us here on PEI. We can't convert them to crochet but maybe you could?
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
I’m with you Kim about knitting gloves. I absolutely am not interested.
Yeah - seems like you want to make yourself suffer a little bit to take on 10 fingers!! LOL
Comfrey/Lily of the valley steel cage death match next month on Fleece and Harmony
LOL - a new segment perhaps!
Ambrose Abrahams
Please finish your sentences. You’re all over the place. You get there eventually but it sure is distracting. 😅 1:17:05
