The second part of music comes a famous Chinese movie called "Red River Valley", Britain launched two invasions into Tibet, in 1888 and during 1903 and 1904, in an attempt to build up an exclusive colonial influence in the region. It also tried to separate Tibet from China and ultimately turn it into a "buffer zone" against British-controlled northern India. This film tells the story of how the Tibetan people fought against the British invaders. The pictures and music are magnificent, and the story is very touching and heartbreaking.

@@tenshona1770 Yes, absolutely. You do understand there is a huge difference between the de facto independence and a genuine independence, right? The case of Tibet is the former while the essential factor to a sovereign state is the latter. Tibet has never gained any recognition from any major power during the half century between the collapse of Qing Dynasty and the establishment of PRC. And needless to mention Tibetan leaders needed to bow to the Qing emperor for two centuries before the half century’s de facto independence. What PRC did in 1959 was simply resumed Beijing’s control over Tibet, which was interrupted by the Japanese invasion and civil war. Of course the then-Tibet government resisted it and reluctant to transfer their power to Beijing. That is their lifeline. But sadly they were ruthless dictator at that point, so they couldn’t be regarded as representatives of all Tibetan people.
By saying that, I do not meant to fully support Beijing’s policies over Tibet. But Tibetans in exiles are so delusional, always spreading a complete false narrative that Tibet had nothing to do with China before 1959. That deeply sickens me.

@@thuptenkunga9365 Ok, but however in the title it says traditional. You can't forget about that part. It does include modern, but I don't remember modern Tibetan dances being like this. I'm a modern Tibetans living in the US in the 21st century, but I can also see the bigger picture it's not just you. I probably have a broader spectrum of music than you do.

@@irenemyers5815 Historically Tibet was never part of China. Tibet was forcibly occupied by the Republic of China when Tibet was economically unstable. Because of that His holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and thousands of other Tibetans had sought refuge in India, Nepal, and Bhutan to start a new life and the Dalai Lama made TIPA to protect our culture, identity, and traditions of performing arts, whether it was sing, clothing or instruments he wanted to preserve its special unique culture before it would be forgotten by others in the future. That's why I respectfully want to keep the culture alive.

@@irenemyers5815 Ok and? What's your point here? Tibet was forcefully taken by China. The Chinese government killed our people, oppressed our right to speak our language, and oppressed our right to follow our own religion. Just because there are Tibetan people living in China doesn't mean that they wanted to be oppressed like this. Our human rights were taken away from us, and just because Tibet was taken by China doesn't mean all of a suddenly we are Chinese. If that's really what you think you might have to go back to school and pay attention a bit more. Your ethnicity doesn't just change like that.
