Like you, I had my dealer place me on his E-Ray list when I first heard the rumor. Now, having seen the E-Ray at this year's Bash, and sat through all of GM presentations, I am no longer on an E-Ray list. I am sure that I am in the minority, but I was hoping GM would emphasize the economy benefits of a hybrid system over all out performance (i.e., 6.2 L engine in back with electric motor(s) that would maintain Stingray performance, while getting a boost in overall mpg in the 30-40% range. That would have been amazing, at least in my opinion. Now, having owned a 2013 GS and now a 2019 GS, I agree that GM needs to build a C8 GS as the wide body design is the way to go. A GS would have a minor impact on Z06 sales, but could have a significant impact on overall E-Ray and Stingray sales. I believe there is a pent-up demand for a C8 GS that GM could satisfy while making tons of additional profits for a minor cost increase to build GSs.
Exactly. The car manufacturers have forgotten that part of the car culture that wants a stout engine, a tough transmission and rear differential, good brakes and handling, and minimum "creature comforts". Affordable performance.
They have an abundance of parts to make it rn and get an extra 15k out of the stingray. Just add the widebody and 515- 530hp lt2. 2lt trim only with gt2 seats std and htc option Tho. Zo6 steel breaks mag ride standard. z51 option. Maybe center exhaust. Cool basic concave star rims. Low wing spoiler. Starting at 85k. Would be thee top selling C8 . and it would leave the "special ones" special and in the over 100k supercar class.and we could have the GS and Stingray as under 100k Muscle Exotic class. GS is what we wanted the whole time . but i understand the strategy.
Electrifying legendary petrol sports cars is a terrible idea. Nobody asked for them and they lose their values quicker than any other category, also devaluing the brand and model moving forward.
Consumer Reports found that EV's encountered nearly 80% more problems than vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. Simply put, they are less reliable. Never go electric.
why does this guy seem so irritated about GM product? first it doesn't seem like he understands that the Eray is an attempt to market a corvette that can be driven year round, instead of some customers storing the car every winter.. that might expand the customer base and help the brand. I doubt if a track focused car would grow the brand, and as some might have noticed, GM is not into cheap base model corvettes. They offer one, but I think the corporate vision is aiming at the higher profitability that the big ticket cars command. either way doesn't matter to me. I just want them to be as successful as possible, since interest in the cars will help me keep my old heap on the road and supplied with parts.
@@VetOnVettes if they made a manual then yes I’d agree but after owning a c8 stingray, it was so incredibly slow after you shift to 3rd gear, I sold it quickly. So I’m hoping the e ray power will make up for the manual loss. The c8 stingray already grips really well for acceleration. If you add more weight by larger wheels with larger tires and wider body, the grand sport will be even slower than the base stingray, except on the track. But I don’t see the c8 grand sport being much quicker than the c7 gs on the track. The c7 stingray had grip issues so the c7 gs actually made sense. I rather have GM give us an extra year for the ZR1 so we have a higher chance of getting our hands on one.

I would get a c8 grand sport if it existed.
Exactly.

I hear there is one coming but we'll see.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they come out with the C8 Grand Sport
I hope so man. 🤙👍🤞
I agree 1,000000000000000 % , Ty
They are coming out with the grandsport, confirmed with Rick Corvette conti..
A slim body GS would be an option for GM.
Is the 6.6L of 525HP/540tq for the New GS?
That garage is noice!
Thanks man!

I’m sure early cars weren’t reliable either. Electric cars will get better over time. That being said, I will miss the soul of combustion engines.
The e ray is the turbo s competitor at half of the price.
For me, the ultimate would be a fixed roof grand sport! Want those fat ass 335 section tires and no creaking roof!
That would be legit
Dude, all you need is a wide body kit

I doubt they will give a grand sport. I actually like the Eray. Have one on order.
I have an E-Ray on order as well. I would like to see something in between the stingray & E-Ray. My .02 cents.

Bro you’re not speaking for everyone…😂 E-ray is cool as fuck
I have one on order. 👍🤙
Google the new Consumer Reports article about new EV. They are crap and unreliable.
