CJ what do you think OCD is? it's an obsessive compulsive disorder, and can manifest itself in anyway including needing to capitalise every word, it is something you have no control over. But on the other hand it could just be being picky.
I have commented before and I'll do it again. Your problem with the lifts is due to bad valve springs if you drive with a boost on the vanos top, you need to change
Hey dude i noticed u deleted the CCV did u conect the vanus hose to the dip stick directly, im actually curious about that your build is similar to mine but mine is no turbo i dont have the cash :3 , could you plz make a video about that u are really detailed explaigning i love to watch u work ;) that can ezelly remove a ton of vacum leaks and has other profits i gess, give me some love plz :D
only a mechanic can understand the frustration with this , so much work and if u miss something it goes wrong an it´s fucked .... have a meany bees and SAUNA and relax an i hope it goes well . Kim from Finland =)
love your videos Alberto RUclips keeps saying +1 next to your name so i keep coming back to this video haha. cant wait for your next one i cant wait!!!
I don't know if you're running the OEM water pump pulley but trust me when I say you need to pull it out and get the aluminum one. I broke mine the first time I pulled my fan off.
i get the feeling that you probably wanna do 100% of the car with your own hands, that's maybe why u wanna wrap de car, or just make it cheaper, but srly man after making so many cars for other ppl you are finally finishing your drift build, go get that friend of adams and paint the car! it's gona look sick with the body kit aswell, and a small lip spoiler would be a lit add for the car.
The moment when you realize you just yelled at your screen cause your so mad at the end of the video. Nice meme young lad +1 internet for you on this day.
Cost of tuning, reliability. Variable valve timing requires tuning the VANOS system, and that means more dyno time to gain little more than bringing boost in a few hundred RPMs. Deleting vanos means static timing and predictable tuning
I guess to further elaborate... It's great to have if this was a street car. You'd be able to dial the torque band back and would make low RPM, around town driving much more pleasant. Since this is a track car, he doesn't need to tailor the car around different driving habits. The vehicle is meant to spend a good deal of time near the limiter, and having an electronically controlled hydraulic system fail at high RPM is an easy way to break some valves.
Bob Sagit well this but VVT isn't designed for the stress of racing anyway. I'm a big BMW guy and I dislike vanos if I'm putting forced induction into the whip. For this reason I'm putting a M50 in my E30 (mostly because I got it got next to nothing)
Hello bro, I'm currently building an M52 stroker motor, but I see that you used the OBD1 fuel rail rather than the OB2, what did you do to use the OBD1 instead? Thanks in advance. I'm loving this channel!
you recon this could be the reason why my rb20det has a random misfire around 5500rpm Alberto? it should rev to 8000rpm easy but after 5500 it starts misfiring exactly like yours
18Elitegamer it said three views (I did make there first comment but idk what people care about with the first view or comments) and all it means is I have no life 😢 JK 😄
KooKii Reign i think vanos is changes the duration of intake/exhaust and is beneficial to have but require more work for tuning and is therefore easier to work on without it. I have no idea what im talking about
Liqui Moly makes an additive which is just a solvent. You can take the lifters out and clean them by soaking in solvent and using air compressor to blow out as well.
As someone who is looking at options as to how to go about to build a m52/m54 conversion track car..not drift but track car...why not go with the n54 84mm DIA already built for turbo application piston/connecting rods? Cost? No need given the boost you plan on running? Just curious...thank you.
hi big boost I bought an 03 infinity g35 it has a vq35de 260 hp 260 tq. don't plan on boosting it yet was just going to port the heads and intake, anyway was wondering if you had any advice or if you know anything to watch out for while taking apart and reassemble the top engine that might cause problem or damage thanks and love your videos your my inspiration and I plan on boosting once I learn how to drift for now just doing bucket seats harness bar bc coil overs hydro e-brake and wise fab or pbm angle any advice at all would be very much appreciated
Branden Russell He worked on mine while I had it. Don't waste your time you'll save a lot of head ache and money just going nitrous and calling it a day. Spend good money on tuning also using uprev. Coming from a guy who did all the bolt ons and tuning.
Several reasons I'd imagine, 1) He doesn't have to tune for it now. 2) It's a drift car, it'll be driven mostly at the top end of the rev range where vanos wouldn't be giving him much extra, especially considering the car's turbo'd. 3) Vanos seems to have a reputation for unreliability, I don't know how deserved the reputation is but this way there's one less thing that can go wrong.
He just was tuned, and BMW uses VANOS in almost all their engines currently, camphasing gives a lot of torque under the curve, so I'm not sure what you're saying here. He must not have an after market ECU that supports active cams.
No. It has not been two years. More like 5 months. His first engine blew and it wasn’t Alberto’s fault. Building a car takes time and money. Maybe if you where building a car you’d understand. It’s to bad your probably 12
Every time you post I’m like oh fuck yeah here we go
Oh boy, can't wait until your car can rev to 700!
Cerripha _ 7,000. Sorry Im Not One Of Those People Who Correct People's Comments To Be Rude Its My OCD Im Sorry
Dark Wolf don't worry bout it, but if you listen closely at 0:41-0:44 he starts to say 700 and then correxts himself
You claim to have OCD but capitalize every word?
CJ what do you think OCD is? it's an obsessive compulsive disorder, and can manifest itself in anyway including needing to capitalise every word, it is something you have no control over. But on the other hand it could just be being picky.
Alberto you are best !
Marecki99874 beast
i love that transition from unbuilt to built
Kick it sideways my boy!!!
You made that look so easy!
deuces roxy lol, can’t even get mad at that one... kinda set myself up😂
Sarah -n- Tuned 😂😂
Can’t wait for the BIG BOOST SKIDS!!!🔥🔥
Really can't wait for you to get blessed with your own home and garage man. Keep it up. It's inspiring.
You're a madman. Good work.
Oh man idk why I ever stopped watching your vids but I’m back! Keet it up man
I have commented before and I'll do it again. Your problem with the lifts is due to bad valve springs if you drive with a boost on the vanos top, you need to change
Love your car

Helder Alves I deleted the CCV, plugged up the intake hole and left the dipstick hole open to the atmosphere.
Alberto you’re awesome
only a mechanic can understand the frustration with this , so much work and if u miss something it goes wrong an it´s fucked ....
have a meany bees and SAUNA and relax an i hope it goes well . Kim from Finland =)
kim öhberg ahhh hitting the sauna the most finish thing I've ever heard! Kudos
Really happy to see things have come around for you! Hard work pays off keep it up Alberto!
CANT WAIT FOR ANOTHER VID.......:( ....5 DAYS .....ALBERTO I MISS YOU ALREADY
Ozzii12 back from sema!!
Looking forward to seeing this thing get sideways.... post the drift event with outside shots of the car and p.o.v.
love your videos Alberto RUclips keeps saying +1 next to your name so i keep coming back to this video haha. cant wait for your next one i cant wait!!!
safe heaven new videos are up
I love that body kit with them rims so nice
Big Boost is going drifting !!! woop woop
You are an amazing mechanic man, your work is legit
I don't know if you're running the OEM water pump pulley but trust me when I say you need to pull it out and get the aluminum one. I broke mine the first time I pulled my fan off.
Damn Alberto, get new spark plug boots! This is important, especially when boosted.
You deffo should re name E36 to Eturdy6 in all titles and videos...
Seen ya at the mall today .Didn't wanna bother ya though. Keep it up man!
Keep up the good work Alberto, Can't wait to see that beast go sideways tho!
Alberto is my true love
I keep forgetting to like Bigboost' videos after watching them.
I can't wait yo see how many hp is going to increase!!!
i love this show keep up the good work big booooooost
Hey alberto great videos keep up the good work. Would you consider getting angel eyes for the headlights i had them on my e46 they look amazing
i get the feeling that you probably wanna do 100% of the car with your own hands, that's maybe why u wanna wrap de car, or just make it cheaper, but srly man after making so many cars for other ppl you are finally finishing your drift build, go get that friend of adams and paint the car! it's gona look sick with the body kit aswell, and a small lip spoiler would be a lit add for the car.
You deserve this bigboost!
The moment when you realize you just yelled at your screen cause your so mad at the end of the video. Nice meme young lad +1 internet for you on this day.
Wish you could be closer I need a bmw mechanic, and you look like you know what you are doing
Why did you delete the vanos?
Cost of tuning, reliability. Variable valve timing requires tuning the VANOS system, and that means more dyno time to gain little more than bringing boost in a few hundred RPMs. Deleting vanos means static timing and predictable tuning

Because Big Boooooooosttaaaaa
shailin govender *incoming BMW fanboy hate* Vanos is not known for being the most
Consistent reliable variable valve timing
Bob Sagit well this but VVT isn't designed for the stress of racing anyway. I'm a big BMW guy and I dislike vanos if I'm putting forced induction into the whip. For this reason I'm putting a M50 in my E30 (mostly because I got it got next to nothing)
She needs a wrap soon!
I love your videos big boost! 😀
Hey man just trying to gather some information on the 328i e46 on some compatibility for turbo components and other engine bits.
Hello bro, I'm currently building an M52 stroker motor, but I see that you used the OBD1 fuel rail rather than the OB2, what did you do to use the OBD1 instead? Thanks in advance. I'm loving this channel!
+Alberto BIGBOOST:
You are one _damn good_ mech-a-mech-anic! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Good vid, too!
Hey man , how come ur not at lz garage anymore ? Did he just let you use it while he was away
GOOD JOB! KING!
If I was you I would choose big bost over low boost
you recon this could be the reason why my rb20det has a random misfire around 5500rpm Alberto? it should rev to 8000rpm easy but after 5500 it starts misfiring exactly like yours
You will need take apart ev erything again for big boost and high rpm valve control you need stiff valve springs
Albertooo
Would have a good argument against sliding the 540i e39 over the 328?
For once notifications got me here on time
R͙E͙X͙ Nihof and first no less.
18Elitegamer
it said three views (I did make there first comment but idk what people care about with the first view or comments) and all it means is I have no life 😢
JK 😄
can t wait to hear this thing hit the red zone
Good stuff
dat e46 M3 doe!!
Good work
Hope it dynos 400+. When are you doing it?
One question for you =) why do you explain how to remove stuff? i think everyone know, it's maybe putting it all together again is the hard part......
YaY, Perfect timing!
Is there a reason to remove the Vanos/vvti? I don't really know to much about it. Just asking.
KooKii Reign i think vanos is changes the duration of intake/exhaust and is beneficial to have but require more work for tuning and is therefore easier to work on without it. I have no idea what im talking about
KooKii Reign vanos is pretty annoying to Tune and not incredibly reliable
Alberto = Best ;)
Yo alberto why dont you work in adam’s garage anymore?
when you delete the vanous will it give a check engine light ?
Did this solve your ticking issue long term?
I have an e46 and the valve cover leaks, any idea why BMW’s are so bad for it?
Why did you delete Vanos? Was it for ease of tuning?
SSBall3r yes, i may add it back on later if needed
How would I go about contacting you about a possible project car (sc300 or is300) 2j?
How do you have your cold air intake set up?
Is vanos no good for turbo application?
i have lifter tick on my s50 too :(
Adam Gomez change the oil a couple of times then it Will stop
Driftarn dk lmao😂😂
Liqui Moly makes an additive which is just a solvent. You can take the lifters out and clean them by soaking in solvent and using air compressor to blow out as well.
10/10 wins
What turbo are you using and what drive shafts too?
Ed JJ garrett gtx3582r gen 2 and stock m3 6 bolt driveshaft
here before 500K

N54 rods are 144mm. Same as a m54 b25 (2.5 ) but tge 2.5 m54 has a cast crank and lighter rods. The m54/ m52 has 135mm rods.
Drift car done
Are the valves stock?
Where can I buy your steering wheel
Gregory Bomgardner met up with nrg at sema so i can come up with an official date and get it on the website
Is your ankle ok
U put the air cam allowance the exhaust cam
hi big boost I bought an 03 infinity g35 it has a vq35de 260 hp 260 tq. don't plan on boosting it yet was just going to port the heads and intake, anyway was wondering if you had any advice or if you know anything to watch out for while taking apart and reassemble the top engine that might cause problem or damage thanks and love your videos your my inspiration and I plan on boosting once I learn how to drift for now just doing bucket seats harness bar bc coil overs hydro e-brake and wise fab or pbm angle any advice at all would be very much appreciated

Why do you even delete your vanos ? You can get more torque across the board with it after tuning the maps for it.
Several reasons I'd imagine, 1) He doesn't have to tune for it now. 2) It's a drift car, it'll be driven mostly at the top end of the rev range where vanos wouldn't be giving him much extra, especially considering the car's turbo'd. 3) Vanos seems to have a reputation for unreliability, I don't know how deserved the reputation is but this way there's one less thing that can go wrong.

what turbo is that??
Why have a garage, and then work outside?
what would happen if you removed that plastic cover on the intake cam?
bdusanek it would spit more oil put the valve cover breather
sounds a bit loud should have manually bled the lifters before fitting to the head
Drive it like you stole it, boss.
wher i put the air mass
I prefer videos this length ngl
Why don't you buy some lighting from Harbor Freight or Home Depot
Ey bro you speek spanish ? could you help me with some doubts
wont u have to re dyno it
Noise too much why no oil in engine 🤔
sounds like my m30 haha
Don't crash it
Some spanish can translate to me what is the VANOS?
VANOS is BMW's valve timing system, in the same way that VTEC is Honda's, VVTi is Toyota's and MIVEC is Mitsubishi's.
Alexander Klein ohhh thanks, now I understand
No offense but that airfilter makes IT really ugly😂
im not saying it looks great, but i dont think he had any other options that would fit
agreed
youre slacking on vids..
Danny D, yep 4 days no vids
And he replied to most of the comments but I see this video has no replies from him
Inwas at sema with no hotel wifi :/
Alberto BIGBOOST, Tnx. Love the Sema vids
berto i see in your face....too much gaming. you need sleep
(fixing the lifers on my e36) So what's the sense making video about sum and not showing it??????
Alberto I’m swiftoak from Xbox can we play together some time
This body kit is very ugly . Clean cars looks way better!
Patrick Jones wait for it to get wrapped
Or painted
just my opinion that this would have looked better stock with some fenderflares for more rubber. and probably much cheaper.
is this why you don't work at a shop anymore? because it takes you 2 years and rebuilding an engine 3x to get it right?
Roman _ shut the fuck up
No. It has not been two years. More like 5 months. His first engine blew and it wasn’t Alberto’s fault. Building a car takes time and money. Maybe if you where building a car you’d understand. It’s to bad your probably 12
stfu you're probably a 12 year old that thinks he knows everything. Show some respect or gtfo numb nuts
Roman hater
Guys Its Sarcasm😔
