This is a Great video and I have got both of these! And I notice right of the difference of what could be done and the flakes are so beautiful but do is the powder. The flakes just have to be used only with a brush is the difference. Thanks again for this great video
Thanks for the video. I’ve used both flakes and powder, but never side by side like you did. Nice to see the difference side by side. I love the flakes but you are so right, hard to work with. One tip for anyone using them. Static is the enemy!😄 when using flakes, I make sure to have a dryer sheet right beside me. I wipe my hand, brush, mold, and container before opening it. It’s not perfect, but cuts down the “flying flake” effect somewhat. Thanks again for your great videos.
I committed on this video 10 months ago and decided to watch it again tonight! I learned so much, I think more the 2nd time! Maybe I should go for a 3rd! Thanks, Again and again!
Thanks for showing the comparison! The flakes definitely end up with a pretty look but what a mess! LOL. That's okay, I guess. Art is messy! Beautiful colors!!
Hi Wendy, I didn't get a notification for this one so I went looking. You can't hide from me. LOL. Great comparison Wendy. If I ever do get into resin work expect a phone call. LOL. Take care hun. Cheers, Huw X
Ooooooooo mine both arrived today .... so excited for this video... 😍😍 So helpful thank you so much hunee ... really loved those flakes just wow ! 😱 😍😍 Thanks for sharing xxxx
It wasn't long winded..I'm grateful you took the time to do that for us...thank you Wendy 😊. I have a small assortment of the powders by Lets Resin and I love them, I didn't know they made flakes lol, they seem gorgeous but really hard to work with...thank you for sharing all of this with us🥰💖
Hi Wendy. A very good comparison and the flakes were more pronounced in their colour change, but what a faff, it would drive me potty getting the flakes all over the place. Mind you my black dog would wear it well 😂🦆💕
Great comparison Wendy. They all turned out so beautiful and shiny. I don't know why, but it's never occurred to me to use chameleon colours in Christmas decorations. Think I'll have to give it a go. Thank you.
Thank you so much Yvonne. I have used the snowflakes in another Christmas project actually to add colour and I think they work really well. That’s another video though 😂😂 😀❤️👍
Just got these. But I got a box of flakes and a single jar of powder. I like both the flakes won’t last if u use them the same way as you use the powder I tried just brushing the flakes in random spots for the effects. Then resin with black works nicely. 👍
I was dusting my molds with Let’s resin chameleon powder.. just when I finished I got the notification for your video! 😄 I’d planned to mix the gold in resin for another project and I had no idea if it’d work, thanks for showing that as well! 😅
Thank you so much. I've been looking for something to give my resin pieces an oil slick affect and because of this video, I know that flakes seem to be the way to go.
Thank you for that. It's great to be able to see the differences before purchasing. The shine with the flakes is beautiful, but the mess would probably be too annoying for me. That's just me, though.
Hi Wendy. As you know I am a huge Let's Resin fan and I do have both of the sets you have used. I'm thinking of using the flakes in my resin rather than on the mold? Thank you for sharing X
Hi Clare, did you see the bit in the video where I did that? You could use the flakes in resin with anything colour, such as white which would show them up. But it would be more like glitter There is a comment about mixing flakes with isopropyl alcohol. I’ve not tried that so no idea if it works 🤷♀️ Hope that helps Clare 😀😀😀👍
@@Toonpish I went back for another look. I'm so glad I did. The flakes are stunning, however too pricey to use just mixed with resin. I think you would have to use the whole jar to make it effective. Oh are you gonna try the isoproply alcohol? I'd love to see how that would work. Thank's again Wendy xx
Thanks Pam. All levels of people watch RUclips and more experienced resin crafters like yourself probably won’t find this helpful. But thank you so much for watching and commenting. It’s really appreciated 😀❤️
Thank you so much Nathalie 😀 I didn’t because They are not very good quality. 🥺 I had to trim them to get them to sit flat and some sank in the middle 🤦♀️ I can get you the link from Amazon but only if you still want it ❤️
I didn't see much of the chameleon effect with the powders, bummer! The flakes are great, but I think using masks and glasses is important as they do fly everywhere and you don't want to breathe that it! Thank you for doing the comparison!
Thanks Sue. Yes the static is real 😮 The powders are colour changing but not as dramatic and some are better than others. Appreciate your comment Sue 😀👍
you don't need to use glue on a silicone mould as it has a surface the flakes stick to. But if you are putting them on cured resin or another surface you will need something to stick them with. Hope that helps
Thank you so much Linda. I bought them from Amazon uk. They are not great quality so I wouldn’t recommend them. Some of them are not flat most I had to trim the back up. I will drop the link in if you want though 😀👍❤️
Can u use the flakes as eyeshadow? I already have the chameleon powder and I pressed them down making a pressed eyeshadow in tin. And there GORGEOUSS!! BUTT I been eyeing the flakes for some time and wanted to see if I could wear as eyeshadow??
🤔 well I have no idea about safety 🤷♀️ But they definitely stick to skin. Why not ask Let’sResin if it would be safe for use 😀😀😀 Sorry I can’t help any further 😀❤️
