Your smart on the fuel tank in the center of the wing, I don't know why others do the same instead of putting the center cap and putting the fuel tank on one side of the wing. Mabie safety, but I had my local fab guy make a 5 gal. Fuel tank out of aircraft aluminum right in the center of my eagles wings.
Frank, Absolutely splendid work. I bought my plans (DE G 20) from Mr. Milholland by visiting his place in Brookshire. Wonderful experience meeting him. You have done way beyond justice in building your airplane. I live just outside Round Top, Texas. Please keep posting on the results of your taxi test, weight/balance, etc. Will be watching for it. Thank you.
She's a beauty, an award winner for sure. Cant wait to see vids on the first runups, taxi and hops! Has anyone considered a lightweight tube cowling instead of the angled faces?
Frank Johnson......That's a beautiful plane. Someone else asked the question and I didn't see a reply so I will ask it again, What's the total weight of the air craft? Did you fabricate the fuel tank or were you able to find on that fit and fabricated the sheet metal over it? Thanks
What part of Texas are you in? I would like to see a close up of your brake system. I bought the plans for the XL and was going to build it, but I got a good deal on a FlightstarII so I bought it and restoring it now. My plans are to sell the Flightstar when I'm finished and start on the Legal Eagle XL. Good looking plane you have there.
To build it costs around 3k-5k. You can get blueprints online. Time to build varies on how much time you spend on it, but if you take longer than 2 years it probably means you aren't giving it enough attention.
Very good job. Extremely satisfying to build and fly a machine. I trust that you have many hours of enjoyable safe flying in her.
Nicest one I've ever seen.
That is by far the sweetest Legal Eagle I have seen. Love the paint scheme. If I didn't know better I would swear it was factory built!
My word that is nice. Great paint also.
Beautiful
Nice workmanship Frank. Looks like something that might have come out of Wichita or Seattle.

Very nice work! Looking forward to seeing more videos as you get going with taxi and flight tests. Best wishes on many happy hours of flying.
Very nice LE, I am in Texas and would like to see it up close. Look forward to seeing it fly and hearing how much fun it is. Thanks for posting.
