WWE posted a video of SNME short promos including Liv, Drew, Kevin Owens similar to the short promos they had back in the day with music in the background minus the logos.
That's very cool. So I guess it shows they're aware of the expectation but either creatively or due to time, decided to not include them in the show. -W
@ That was my guess also. There’s additional promos also including Rhea, CM Punk with Koko B Ware that would have definitely put them over in regard to time or they wanted to make additional content for their RUclips channel. Looking forward to the next SNME in January.
It was a fun show. Only thing i would have added would be some short backstage interviews between the matches. I would have hired Sean Mooney to do them.
Enjoyed the return of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. It was better than the 2006 through 2008 incarnation of the show. It was a mixture of present day WWE and Old School WWE. This felt like a Saturday Night's Main Event from 1985 to 1992 for the most part. Drew McIntyre is on his Destroy The Bloodline Tour after defeating Sami Zayn in a solid match to open the show. A match between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns looks like a guarantee for some point in 2025. Liv Morgan had her best singles match in quite some time as she retained the Women's World Title against Iyo Sky. Looks like the blowoff match with Rhea Ripley will happen on the January 6th RAW or Royal Rumble. If it's the Royal Rumble, it needs to be a Casket Match or Buried Alive Match. The Triple Threat Match for the World Title between Gunther, Damian Priest, and Finn Balor was enjoyable. Looks like Gunther could be SmackDown bound pretty soon for a Future Title Defence. Chelsea Green winning the Women's United States Title over Michin was well executed. I wish Green won with the Ruff Ryder though. Finally, the WWE Title Match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens was solid. Rhodes winning was a surprise to some. The Post Match Angle with Owens going to his Kevin Steen Roots by using the Package Piledriver was a great way to set up a 3rd Match between the 2. Does Randy Orton make his return during that 3rd Match that could take place as early as the 6th of January? For those wondering why Hulk Hogan wasn't in the building tonight, he was in Tampa walking Colby Covington to the Octagon for his UFC Fight Night Main Event against Joaquin Buckley. Covington lost via 3rd Round TKO. I give this show 9 Fashion Television Themes out of 10.
Kevin Owens package piledrove Cody after the show so I would assume that story is not finished or Kevin will transfer to Raw or some shit. The broadcast didn't show it. Kind of a bummer that the Package Piledriver was an off screen thing especially after Orton gotten written off with a piledriver. That move should be like death, like the Tiger Driver in AEW.
I don't usually watch WWE TV, but decided to give the show a shot as it was a special edition. It was fine overall. I have no nostalgia towards the original Saturday Nights Main Event, so it didn't check any boxes in that area. And the wrestling was just your typical WWE television style of matches, which never does anything for me. Nothing bad, but nothing great either. I'll go back to just watching their PLEs for now
I can promise u joe tessitore is not watching every sports team in which he calls every week. Not a big deal with Cole filling in his broadcast partners. Happens in real sports every night of the week.
Kevin going to walk around with the Winged Eagle title. Going to claim he's champion.

@@POSTWrestlingWai I think it's more of a creative choice.
Jesse Ventura was awesome
A straightforward show with clean finishes?!?!?! AND it was a good show?!?!?!? No way!?!?! Who would have thought!

It'll get played plenty on air afterwards. I think doing it this way just makes it feel more unpredictable or taboo. -W
