Dan's a Christian, Methodist. His Mother was an Opera Singer & they sang together in the Church Choir. His Dad was a Musician who Loved Elvis. Dan's Best Friend was his Dad. He passed away from Cancer 6-7 years ago. Dan went into a 2 Year Deep Depression. This song shows the emotion of God's Grace bringing him back to life. You should hear his American Trilogy. He recorded it soon after his Dad's death to honor him. He has a hard time keeping it together. He was so young looking. He started working out, eating healthy to help with his Depression. He said in an Interview there's a family video of him singing before he could even talk properly. He is Classically Trained & taught Voice Lessons to help pay his way through College. He ,also, served in the Brazilian Military. He's now my Favorite singer of all time. He's Beautiful inside & outside. Dan the Man!❤
Personally, I think this is the absolute very BEST version of Amazing Grace that I've EVER heard in my ENTIRE life & I'm old. Dan Vasc has a God given talent. He sang this song asit was meant to be sung... with respect, passion, emotion & finally with a powerful impact. Simply beautiful & amazing!!! God bless Dan Vasc for sharing his talent & this video with the world! 💕🎶✝️🎶💕
I found him around 2-3 weeks ago. Dude is legit. Not many do heavy metal Christian rock. Mostly you get the country Christian not heavy metal. He still young. Yet does some damn good music.
I've heard it probably 50 times now, and lose my breath and tear up every single time. But then again I'm a life long Christian and this version hits HARD.
I am not that religious (brought up catholic but kinda fell of the wagon coz I'm more a science person etc) and heard plenty of versions of this song but Dan's version always hits me.
Fun fact about that harmonica. It was his father's harmonica. His father gave it to him when he was a kid and that's what sparked Dan's interest in music. By playing it here he's thanking his father.
I've been a huge fan of Dan the man and I'm subbed to his channel. He loves vintage games and he's very interactive with his chat. He's such a entertaining personality without singing. To see this side of him is a whole new level of respect.
The best Amazing Grace ever! Its chilling and messages the power of God! His variations, range, and changing sounds, perfect pitch, are exquisite! Dan plays and rolls the note or notes to perfection! I love the mix of metal with so many other sounds, that make it so captivating. 💗
I’ve watched just about every reaction video to this. Dan has absolutely brought us a version of this song that shakes the heavens. You have been a blessing to watch and your reaction was beautiful! Thank you!

He brings me to tears every time I hear him. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t know about him and his incredible voice. He has so much range and sings with so much emotion. He is also wonderful eye candy for this old lady. I hope you listen to his other covers.
I have listened to Dan's version of Amazing Grace over 149 times and every time I hear it he takes my breath away as he is phenomenal. I am beginning to think that he has an extra set of lungs hidden in his chest. Talk about breath control!
I first heard this amazing talent sing this song a few months ago. I immediately searched for every song he's recorded for RUclips. I've never heard Amazing Grace sung better and I sent it far and wide to friends and family all over the world. I am his big fan - and, at 80, probably his oldest! 😄 I wish him every possible success! Thanks for your comments to send his talent even further.
You may not have gotten a favorite version of Amazing Grace from anyone because it may not exist. Dan Vasc totally blew our socks off with this incredible performance. I do believe he is the best singer/artist that I have heard and have not seen anyone even come close to his vocal abilities. I so enjoyed your analysis of all the nooks and crannies that Dan effortlessly placed into this ancient hymn and thank you for your amazing abilities.
It's so beautiful to begin with, then the harmonica... and when he cuts loose, you can't help but cry. This man put his whole heart and soul on display im this song, and it just lays you flat.
I've listened to this so many times and get goosebumps every time he lets loose - it makes you want to rise and reach for the heavens. I saw one man comment he was not a Christian, but this version is so powerful, it might convert him. You feel it in your very soul.
Dan is the man!! Never have I heard a more beautiful and masterful performance of this old timeless hymn! And I grew up in church. My father was a Pastor (still is at age 78!) I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have suggested this and heard it probably thousands of times throughout my lifetime. The harmonica gets me every single time because my beloved Granny played it beautifully. I want this version at my funeral!! Can't wait to sing with him in Heaven!! God bless you and all who hear it! Congratulations for reacting to Dan Vasc (Daniel Vasconcelos), proud of his talent and person. A Brazilian showing his potential to the world. Direct from Brazil.
That nosal resonance is quite rare for him. He make himself not do that and most can’t hear the metal coming at the begining. If so, like you, not not usually heard or reacted to .He sings every note and genre that exsists because hes been very well trained! This is the best version ever done! It is so powerful and to me, nothing compares ❤❤ And yes, its beyond beautiful
Dan Vasc said on Friday Night Tights that that harmonica was his first instrument, a gift from his father at age 7. :) His training and the strength in his voice is incredible. I think he has a 5 octave range? Dudes nuts. The power he gulps down before he goes "was blind but now I.......SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" is sooo intense

I only discovered this young man in the past month. This is the song that stopped me to listen. Brings chills and tears each time I hear him sing it! At 68, of course I enjoy traditional versions of this song BUT this is one of the very best versions I’ve ever heard. Love it
I cannot watch this enough. He has mesmerized me with it since I first came across it a couple of weeks ago. It is hard to imagine a version of Amazing Grace that displays such variety, expressiveness, power, and passion. Amazing Grace to the nth degree!
Beautiful, sweet, powerful..., and that harmonica! What else can be said? I've heard this song so many times in multiple settings and by multiple artists, but this tops them all. Thank you so much for bringing it to us.
I loved your reaction to Dan's performance - was great to see how moved you were by his singing, as we all have been - I'm now subscribed... I discovered Dan's channel in early 2020 at the start of Covid - heard 'Toss a Coin to Your Witcher' first then 'Song of the White Wolf' and had the same jaw-dropping, ear-to-ear smile -- was totally blown away... His songs saved me during those dark times. ... Dan is Brazilian - native language is Portuguese. His dad gave him the harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away from cancer about 5 years ago).... Dan is genuine - he puts his whole soul into everything he sings and has incredible control as you've experienced. So many incredible covers (200+) for you to enjoy and react to --- Gethsemane, My Mother Told Me, any of his Evanescence songs, Nightwish songs, 'I'll make a man out of you', Handel's Messiah (all parts), even opera (see Nessun Dorma). Just a fantastic singer and good guy. Do more of his covers and enjoy!!
Do you know which songs are his 'screamiest'? I only found Burn Butcher Burn because someone recommended it, I'd been delving into his channel for weeks and hadn't seen it come up. That and Amazing Grace are my absolute favourites, and by far this has been my favourite reaction video.
I'm gonna go find Handel's Messiah. Anything like this?! This.... this... holy cow. I came across a snippet of it last night on TicToc, I think.... My hairs on my arms are still standing on end.
Now that you’ve heard this song from Dan Vasc, go to his channel and just start listening to his different songs. He has an eclectic list that will both delight and amaze you. He’s very versatile in the things that he sings, and you’ll never be disappointed.
I am an Australian and LOVE Dan Vasc, I actually have his RUclips channel playing all day on my TV in my lounge and also my Bedroom, it just loops, and I now have my cleaner addicted to him as well. He is a complete time waster because he is gorgeous and absolutely amazing, just wish he would do a tour and visit Australia.
When he first starts out I was thinking- he better start rocking it out at some point, otherwise it’s the same as any great singer would sing it. He delivered big time! I’ve never heard this guy before, so thanks for introducing me.
I've seen dozens of reaction vids to this performance. Yours has meant the most to me. Thank you for taking Dan's effort seriously, and laying down a great effort, yourself.
Dan Vasc was trained to sing Opera so he has very good vocal control of his voice. He's been doing music for most of his life and has spent the last 10 years doing both original and covers of songs on his channel. Most of us are still scratching our heads about why he isn't signed with a major label yet, but his time is coming we have no doubt. You should look up his cover of Sound of Silence... Its amazing to listen to.
I've watched many reactions to this video. Probably watched it upwards of 100 times. Dan Vasc is awesome. This version is phenomenal. The beginning sounds like a man signing alone in a church. The build. His passion. You can feel it. It does sound like different singers. You are right on so many things. The power and conviction of the last verse continuing thru the key change ending with the softer more personal tone.....his breath control.....I don't usually enjoy it so much when a video is stopped multiple times during the reaction (dunno why so much lol) but yours, ma'am, I did. When you didn't stop it after the harmonica, I could tell you were feeling it! Thank you so much! Have a grand and glorious day!
@@TheVocalyst yes!! he does a number of them! Some of the more obscure ones too. Any good power metal cover vocalist worth his salt should have a solid take on nightwish imo :). My favorite of his is The End of All Hope if you want a more classic bit of nightwish but he also does a great cover of Over the Hills and Far Away and Last Ride of the Day.
I've read a lot of comments, I've seen a number of reactions to this amazing rendition but the one I didn't realize that I was missing and desperately needed to hear was from a vocal coach. To see her facial expressions as she heard the song brought new meaning to the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words." and especially so in this video example.
His voice so encapsulates the meaning of this song. the raw and gritty anguish of Slavery. And the redemption of sin . Pure God given talent. I love so much how he powerfully shares his talent.
Hi Beth, awesome reaction! At first the in depth analysis as we know it from you. And then you went silent, but your face gave it all away, the emotion, the joy and awe for this amazing rendition of the song. Thank you for letting us be part of it, we felt with you. Dan has by the way done some Nightwish covers and I'd love to see him sing with Floor 😊. But there's a lot more to discover...
We had bag pipes playing this at my father in-laws funeral bless his soul march this year. I only discovered this amazing entity of a singer the last 2 days, had I known this person before, I would have played this first before the bag pipes procession. Definitely an emotional moment for me to hear this in lyric form from a soul that can bring up your heart and touch it with a loved one who's passed. So glad I'm now subscribed to this amazing Talented individual.............
This man has the most amazing voice I have ever heard and I am a heavy metal head and heard many amazing metal voices but this man takes it to a whole new level!!! He is beyond awesome!!!!
I never even knew there was such a thing as "reaction" videos until this song! I'm loving them, especially from vocal peeps because I've learned ALOT! But seriously, how could anyone have a better rendition of this song??
This is like my 50th time listening to this song sung by Dan. He is an amazing Brazilian metal singer as well as all the other styles he gifts us all with. Thank you for your wonderful analysis of his rendition of Amazing Grace. ❤
This version is Incredible. Dan gives us his 200% , the Passion he sings with along with elevating the Lyrics so they Touch Your Soul, as they are meant to.
Oh wow she just had the same reaction as me. The first time I heard it. You can see it hit her hard and her eyes are tearing up. He really does have a very powerful voice that just hits you hard. Especially with this song. I would love to hear him sing more gospel
What a great analysis of Dan's singing and his Voice. So happy you were able to hear his style and sound. If you look deeper you will see his amazing story through different songs. His cover of the Elvis Trilogy is so touching , it was a dedication to his father . His father passed a few years ago and he expressed threw his voice and emotions his tender feelings. At the end of the song he shares a picture of he and his Dad when he was a little boy. As you explore this young man it's amazing. He too in his own right , is a vocalist. He earned his living during his journey teaching young children to sing. I'm a 70 year old Grandma and have enjoyed discovering Dan's Wonderful story . His brother Davi is one of the magnificent guitar players you hear . It was a pleasure to hear your Thoughts. Enjoy !!!
Thank you, Joan, for bringing new info on Dan’s life, he is indeed a special soul, a humble person with a huge gift, that’s so beautiful and rare nowadays. As we go on getting to know him better, our admiration and respect also grow much higher about him. I have no doubt we can say he’s an angel in disguise.
Great review, and, I've watched this about 15 times, and I would need my own site to say how many things I love about it. I fell over it, "Metal Singer sings Amazing Grace" and out of curiosity watched it. I'm still stunned by it. So much to love. The beauty of his voice, the raw power which he can harness, but it turns on a dime and becomes soft and sincere, the phrasing, my favorite part of that, the way he sings the word "praise", ala "we sing God's praise", it's classic, it's perfect. The way he sets his body up for the power section, let's face it, the man is gorgeous, he's a beautiful physical specimen, and it's stunning to see such power in motion, as when we observe the finest thoroughbred win the Kentucky Derby. I'm not intending to insult him at all with that, but he is a fine example of beauty and power, and it's all masculine. I hope he's a believer, he sings as if he is, but his rendition is beautiful, and I pray God blesses him and allows him to keep that voice. Check out his rendition of Nessun Dorma, it's also superb.
Seriously, this was an other-worldly performance by Dan. Then to top it off, Beth's reaction was priceless. It was like Dan's voice made love to Beth's soul. Unreal, amazing what else can you say.
Ive watched him sing this song about a hundred times, but i absolutely loved watching your face, as you reacted to him. Your emotion was exactly how I felt and still do feel when I listen to this song. Hes the greatest. ❤
Sensational, Dan Vasc is absolutely amazing and my number one. You shouldn't miss "The Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera or Gethsemane-Jesus Christ Superstar as well as "Bohemian Rhapsody" from Queen are world class ❤
Intense yet balanced. Harmonic resonance with controlled air pressure allows him to render one of the most exciting renditions I have experienced in my 67 years. Simply "amazing". Thanks for a wonderful analysis! Well done.
The first change in pitch is just beautiful to me…seems like his true pitch? IDK, because it’s so perfect to me! I just love your analyses too! TY! ❤❤❤😅😅😅 Those bagpipe sounds of the harmonica are perfect for this song….magnificent ! ❤❤❤ DAN CONVEYS GODS POWER HERE TO ME…
I just love this version. But even more so I enjoy the Vocalyst's facial expressions as she watched and listen and felt the song. He rocked it, and your facial and feelings that you felt when listening to it, made me cry with you. Yes it is the song, but his voice and range are superb.
The harmonica was a gift from his father when he was 7 years old. His father passed away maybe 6 or 7 years ago. It's quite special to Dan.

He is a complete time waster because he is gorgeous and absolutely amazing, just wish he would do a tour and visit Australia.
I literallly just found this song last night. So good.
Same, but it's two weeks later. Dan is good. How have I never heard of him before last night?
When he first starts out I was thinking- he better start rocking it out at some point, otherwise it’s the same as any great singer would sing it. He delivered big time! I’ve never heard this guy before, so thanks for introducing me.
I listen to him every day. His vocals are OUTSTANDING, which truly touches my soul.. I've never heard that version of Amazing Grace.
Best version I've ever heard! Dan hit it out of the park.
❤ FABULOUS his version of this is FAR from anyone else. A BEAUTIFUL TALENTED MAN❤️
Dan Vasc is such a great talent and a nice person to boot. Could not have found a better exemplar of modern singing to cover.
No disrespect but I don't think he needs any vocal lessons. That was the most powerful vocals I have ever heard.
Dan is an adorable Brazilian. He does a bunch of great covers and originals. So awesome to see him get some love. ❤
I love this woman! Excellent analysis of Dan. She's one of the most likeable reactors on RUclips! 🙂
I concur!
Totally. Her vibe is so warm and kind. Instantly my favorite along with The Charismatic Voice.
His powerful voice really hit me hard. I really did not expect all that and the way that it hit me. I just found myself in tears
Love this man, could listen to him forever. You should do more from him. Love his Nightwish covers as well.
Agreed. His Nightwish and Evanescence covers are awesome!
Nightwish covers!? Yes please!
@@TheVocalyst Oh yes girl! Go down that rabbit hole. You may never want to leave.
Just follow him here on YT just look up Dan Vasc.
There are currently over 60 reaction videos to this song alone! The fan club has been listening to every one. 😁
@@SpaceNinja321yep, I see the same fans’ names in every reaction…soo cool🤩
Reaction channels are the best way to find new music and connect online with other music fans. 🎶🎶
P. S. His Mulan cover "Ill make a Man out of you"
is absolutely
MAGICAL !!
I love those first reactions to Dan! Just whatching her face. This is what Dan does with all of us!
What a great analysis of Dan's singing and his Voice. So happy you were able to hear his style and sound.
If you look deeper you will see his amazing story through different songs.
His cover of the Elvis Trilogy is so
touching , it was a
dedication to his father .
I'm a 70 year old Grandma and have enjoyed discovering Dan's
Wonderful story .
His brother Davi is one of the magnificent guitar players you hear .
It was a pleasure to hear your
Thoughts.
Best rendition of Amazing Grace I have ever heard...I became and instant Dan Vasc fan after hearing him sing Amazing Grace!!
I REALLY loved your take on this. I think that you were just as entertaining to watch and listen to as Dan was! You made my morning! THANKS!!!
I simply love this version of the song. He's performed in perfectly.

I don't remember how I found Dan Vasc on RUclips but I love his versatility in his voice with any song he performs.
Oh no way. He plays harmonica too?!? Very risky. Absolutely beautiful.
It's cool to see Dan blowing up..he's a talented dude.
❤❤❤ DAN CONVEYS GODS POWER HERE TO ME…
His voice tranports you around the world and back. Breath-taking performance.
I just love this version. But even more so I enjoy the Vocalyst's facial expressions as she watched and listen and felt the song. He rocked it, and your facial and feelings that you felt when listening to it, made me cry with you. Yes it is the song, but his voice and range are superb.
Dan Vasc, I hope you see this! So beautiful!
Love it and when you listen to his voice you can hear the diffrent
