- Two men from New York were charged by federal officials on Monday for their alleged involvement in the deadly siege of the U.S. Capitol earlier this month. NBC New York’s Greg Cergol and Erica Byfield report.

The common charges seem to only be violent entry into a restricted building, disorderly conduct, and obstructing law enforcement. Not exactly the crimes of the century here. I believe that criminals should be punished and damages should be paid, but I’m not sure that outright canceling someone’s retirement savings is appropriate. Imagine if you committed a crime, did your time, and then they denied you social security.
