Gotta say, working in healthcare during covid pandemic has been horrible. These videos have been our biggest escape! A moment of tranquility in a chaotic time. Thank you for your amazing videos from all our ICU staff in the states!
Hi Jurijs, I wondered what happened to this one , but well worth waiting for. I really enjoyed the whole programme, lots of useful information about every stage. Liked the way you calculated the amounts of moss etc.useful tip there. You said you learnt a lot along the way , well ,so did we. I hope you will do an update on all of the series, at some point . All in all an excellent lesson on how too. Thank you so much for sharing.
I like Tanner's video style, but I also like your style as well each youtuber have there own style and each has it's strengths Tanner's give me ideas, your's I feel like if I had all the supplies I could make the same type of project although not as pretty... keep up the good work.. much love for your style from Texas.
I like the driftwood touch! This might be the winner for what I put in my renovated kitchen window sill! Now to sell it to the wife haha thanks Jurijs! Another inspirational video!
Stay true to your video recording style I like it since it’s different from tanner’s. It would be boring with 2 channels with the same style. The sudden spontaneous thought process from you are very entertaining. Thanks for another awesome project, now I want a terra base very badly.
I enjoy watching both styles my self. Ie @GreenAqua which is similar to mine as well as @SerpaDesign which is mainly voiceover. I think the style doesn’t matter at the end of the day, most importantly is the creator feels confident and enjoys the process - which one can feel in the video. Not going to mention bad examples of acting bad in front of camera or screwed voiceover acts 🤣 either way, appreciate your feedback guys and don’t be surprised if I try voiceover, that’s something I wanted to do for a long time and I think it can work great with specific type content
I like your videos, i think your way of recording the whole process makes the videos interesting and authentic. And what you build always looks great! 😁
Love the design! Beautiful as usual. The more I see you use that turntable, the more I'm convinced that I need one. That would be handy even if you aren't capturing video.
Perfekt soundmix in this video, I can easily here what you are saying thanks for changing it 👍 This was interesting havn't seen this type of terrarium before - nice 👍 :)
Really love these nano scapes, this one looks great again. If only I could look up the different products from ADA in the magazine I won last year, that would be nice.
It's never a waste to see someone do something well, but this cylindrical shape in a tall box doesn't seem to me to have much potential. If anyone can make it work, you are the one.
Amazing. I really would like to know if there were places here in the states where I could get my hands on things like this. Being back into the hobby again and watching your videos is giving me the itch to have “too many” plants in my house. Is that a thing to have too many plants...haha so cool 😎 😍!!
This is where the original idea comes from. I think if the terracotta is thin and surface untreated it should work. But I’m not sure how well it will allow the water to pass through, I guess it depends
Hi, I also made a terrarium with DooA terrabase, and I wanted to add springtails. I didn't understand the following thing: I would buy the colony, but what do I do with the rest of the springtails? Do they need to be integrated gradually? And when I open the container to add water to the Terrabase, is there a risk that they will jump out? I would like to understand how to proceed, can you help me please? Thanks!
Open the lid, remove the terra base, pour the water from the neo glass back into terra base, give the neo glass a quick rinse and wipe dry. Put terra base back in and fill up to the top with fresh water. Occasionally pour out water from the terra base and replace with fresh. Unfortunately there is no hack to avoid it..
I intended to use the ONF flat nano, ended using Twinstar 600SP and now switched to a 5watt led inside my vintage Do!aqua branch light. Emersed growing plants prefer stronger light.
Use crushed organic charcoal as a substrate for the bottom of this terrarium build. It is good for the springtails, and will suck up any toxins from the water.
Love what you’ve done with the addition of wood. Do you think it’s possible to add rock or cork bark to the terra base? How would one go about doing so?
ja kommt in den nächsten Wochen, ich kann soviel schon vorab sagen - alles wächst wie verrückt, außer die zweite (kleinere) Orchidee, diese hat sich gleich am Anfang verabschiedet.
Hi, New sub here😁. Please UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE. My wife just ordered this system for me for Christmas. I'd like to start ordering plants for it and I'd love to see how yours is doing. I'm thinking one of the miniature begonias would be good in here and I would also go with one or two of the smaller Masdevillia orchid species. Perhaps a small Nepenthes as well. Cheers, Chris
Only use smallest species and less variety is better, it looks more natural. Mine is overgrown right now. Mostly moss, but also the fern moss seleganela is all over the place
Use a light with a large surface. I’m currently using a twinstar 600s 😂, longterm i would like to build a miniature motorized magnetic plate that keeps the terra base rotating inside the glass while the Motor is situated under the glass. This way you could apply the light from a smaller surface slightly from the front
@@JurijsJutjajevs many thanks, these look great I just can't get my head around the 360 light requirements, not easy to place it somewhere that gets light from all sides, we need some 30cm tiles ;) I have one called Phillips Hue Aurelle Ceiling Tile but is ceiling mounted and would not look good over that, unless it was mouted to a shelve with the Terra Base under it, that might work ;)
How does your terra base look now? Ours always drained too fast. Ended up being half empty inside and sitting in a pool outside. We gave up ours. May have a redo later.
hi Jurijs.Great video.Just a question.Maybe you mentioned already in video and i missed but...I have this doaa terra Large type and 20x20x35 doaa air tank.I fill the container of terra with RO water.water which comes out from container slowly end up piling up at the bottom of the tank if i use top glass cover.I leave a gap around 1 cm,not fully sealed but it still happens anyway. There is always 3-4 cm of water at the bottom of the tank.I'm assuming that moss and other plants i use at the bottom will be covered with algea if i leave that water for some time because of high light period i'm using. If i don't use glass cover,Buce plants i use quickly dries. What is the solution here ? Any suggestions?
Wow brother I can watch this on repeat 😅 I have a question, do these moss require nutrients? If so, would appreciate your advice on the matter. Also would it be safe to apply revitalizers ie. the Japanese HB-101? Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately the links you provided for Amazon.de says they are no longer available. May find something similiar on Ebay. Great video! All the interuptions with all the adverts every couple minutes was quite annoying.
Make sure you have a properly sized container and you wash off any nutrient liquid or gel from the moss. Also don’t use moss too thick and yes, springtails are nice to have too
Issue is, the terra base slowly releasing water to the outside resulting a thing water film on the bottom after 24 hours. So the leaf litter suit constantly be super moist

Loved this video. It’s a piece of art. Do you have an update video on how the terrabase is doing?
very interesting watering cylinder... I wonder if gluing a cork round on top would help soften the top edge and make it a little more natural
Nice video! Does the ONF nano + stand fits with the 20x20x35 and glass cover 20x20?
-misto+ stand is 30a nd 45cm tall. Always 2 included in the kit.
which video is the one were you use that old ADA tools you picked up on ebay?
Great video, like all your videos, very inspiring !
Realy great job befor watch video
and now watching vedio 😬👍🙏🌹

I like the wood, it looks like lianes winding on a moss covered tree.
Great idea, I was thinking they are native branches of the tree (terra base) but Lianes are possible too
If you get compared to serpadesign, that should be taken as a compliment. the dude is legit competition regarding scaping

could something similar to this be DIY'd by using a terra cotta planter and sealing the drainage hole?

You can order moss in sheets from Josh's Frogs, as well as other places online. You'll need springtails and possibly isopods as well.
Can isopods live in this one as it doesn’t have any substrate? And the bare glass bottom is covered with thin water film after 24 hours
Where dit u get the rotatable plate? That's something I don't find in the description :)
Hi Jurijs, great video! Can you do follow-up photos, as it would be nice to see how it is going?

Great setup. I wanted to ask how you manage the pool of water that leak throughout the week and sit on the base of the tank?
Open the lid, remove the terra base, pour the water from the neo glass back into terra base, give the neo glass a quick rinse and wipe dry. Put terra base back in and fill up to the top with fresh water. Occasionally pour out water from the terra base and replace with fresh. Unfortunately there is no hack to avoid it..
well done. i love it!!!
Lovely 😍 Very cute! 😉
Nicely done ✔
Would it be an idea to just use the yogurt moss mix method for this product. It does not require any wire and grows very natural.
Congratulations beautiful project, a question the light you use is led, but how May watts and lumens?
I intended to use the ONF flat nano, ended using Twinstar 600SP and now switched to a 5watt led inside my vintage Do!aqua branch light. Emersed growing plants prefer stronger light.

Why are add springtail ?Is there any effect? springtail not bad insects? Please answer me thank you.
they clean dead plants, algae, fungus etc
Which material is this terra base? I was thinking about to cut it in my own shape or in half for different styles.

What's the name of the moss you used? Sphagnum moss?
Taiwan Moss
Can we convert terra base into a planted aquarium with fish
sure why not - great idea actually 😃 I cannot remember anyone doing it before
So the key is terra line, not powerglue?
I wouldn't glue things on the terra base
Can I subtitute that terrabase w/ terracotta, maybe ?
You can try, As long as it’s allows moisture to go from inside to outside, it should work
thanks juri, I'm glad that you always reply
Definitely yes!! We have been doing this in Brazil for decades lol it's called "pau de barro"
I have terra base. I tried two times and every time mold attacked moss and in couple of days mold killed moss. I do not know what to do.
Introduce some springtails. They eat mold. And are hardly seen.
