@@ytskt Yes, you are correct. Lower Castes want freebies and upper caste want votes / controlling power. Both these 2 type of castes need each other and development gets reduced or stalled for the middle class (who are less in number compared to the lower caste and suffer the most). That is why I believe if you want to abolish the caste system and reservations - it has to be done by all the people of India (of all castes) and I do not think that this will happen in the next decade.

However, the problem with framing the world only in terms of geographical 'spheres of influence' is that it denies the agency of countries like Ukraine and Taiwan.
