Group A touring cars were relatively new to Australia at the time and a few drivers and teams (including the HDT) got caught out and they went from winning races to being beaten more regularly. It didn't sit too well with some. Francevic really did nothing wrong, but a "bloody Volvo" wasn't supposed to be beating the Holden and Ford V8's. But beat them they did.
During the enduro round here, did the Green Mustang end up in the ditch at turn 2? Have you got a copy of that race?? Keep the old Group A stuff coming! Love it!
1985 was the first year of Group A in Australia after more than a decade with Group C from 1973-1984.

That race was never televised - only news footage.
All most all the field went off under the Dunlop bridge due to rain and oil on the track lol.
Jim Richards could race a wheelbarrow and still win.
