I started drifting again on LFS almost a week ago, and its still so satisfying to slide in this game, it isnt snappy like forza or AC is (imo) the grip you feel when playing with a wheel is great, the way tires lose grip, the way you spare you tires by not getting them to hot so they last longer, its even better now with the mods, love it.
Dude! Same, As a 2nd-4th grader I used to see the 5th-6th graders in middle school play it on the school computer with mouse and then letting me play a little, I only knew the mouse is steer(ball tracking mouse) and the buttons on the mouse are the pedals
Imagine creating a game in 2002 and putting your passion into it, making it as good as you can, and then 20 years later some guy named Goose is sharing it with hundreds of thousands of people!
LFS was always my go to drifting game. Ability to create your own layouts and no janky in game livery tools since you are able to use templates inside of photoshop or like programs. It will always be the benchmark game in my opinion.
If you press Shift + A you can change your cars exhaust sound and there is so many options to customize it. I am playin this game since 2010 and i love this game. You can download mods to adjust tire camber , horspower and turbo settings. It's impossible to get bored when playing this game.
Nice!!! Glad you finally went for it!! Its so good for an old game like that and they were only 3 dudes working on it. When you are lucky you get some really good servers with modded maps.
Goosy i think you'll agree with me on this, when developers had hardware that were limiting in computation n graphical department, devs actually worked hard to optimize each games to perfection. Every pre-2011 games are perfect example. Now we see games with similar graphics that's around 20-100GB and those old games barely gone past 5GB.
Pressing F9 brings up your tyre wear, Also look at the Harsh drift server, its set out tracks for some nice tandems. Good car with lower tyre wear is the kovac mod
and I think F10 is for suspension damage (yes suspension damage has effect on the steering). Btw. For me has LFS the best forcefeedback experience, better than Assetto, Forza, DIRT and other 😀(I'm LFS fan for more than 15 years?)
I played this game for 7 years. A few things to keep in mind. You start out with cold tires and they warm up over time when drifting. Whilst warming up they will get more slippery. Once you reach a certain temperature they pop. You can see the tire temps if you press f9 or some key in the f row. The mods have been added very recently. in the beginning, the cars only had 30 degrees of angle and everyone online was mostly using xrt for drifting or FZ5. We would set up our cars in the garage and they really handled beautifully. The suspension and chassis can be damaged and influence how the car drives. After switching to asseto corsa I really missed the damageable bodies of cars. Wallrides and close up door to door bashing just isn't as good as it was in Live for speed.
Few things , mod creating tool is provided by the developer , mods work seamlessly , non moded is fun as well, tire physics update is pending since 2013 (yes not a typo) , graphics are getting updated to more modern standards, basically instant loading into the game, 1 click setup sharing (press n until menu shows up use mouse , click ss button to send , other player presses green s next to your name in same menu and sets a name for it) , layout creator (seamless , just Shift+U in your own server/if you have admin on server, or do the same on a public one and save their layout. (add objects , widely used in LFS servers). and most importantly , fun game with a great community that is incredibly smooth to run on older PC's or VR. Just wanted to share some info about one of my all time favorite drifting games.
Oh my god, I've never imagined I'll see this game ever again. We used to drift with this in school circa 2005, and used the mouse to steer. This was a great 8 minutes own memory lane for sure.
Open world city, street racing/tuning/drifting game based on the LFS physics (something similar to Street Legal Racing: Redline) has basically been my dream game for over a decade now. Everything just works flawlessly in this game, it's amazing... the fps performance, the controls/wheel, ffb, live physics/tuning updates... It just works!
I've been playing this game for the past 6 years on a mouse (I'd love to have a wheel, but who know one day?) And here are some tips for you: You can play for completely free by using the LFSPro version, which is fan made, as the game was dying back then... They created their own master server and created a new way to play, Cruise, which is RP on LFS, you have to work to buy, repair and upgrade your cars and pay debts! As for the regular game, you can get better tyres in the tyre section or use a small addon called TempLock, which basically makes the temperature of the tyres stay the exact temperature as you want. F9, F10, F11 and F12 show you information about your car while on track, lik F9 show you the exact tyre temperature of each tyre and section of the tyre such as clutch wear, that shows as CT. For the Graphics, you can install shaders that make the game look better and better Hope you'll keep enjoying and exploring this game as it's so underrated
i'm a LFS Player since 2006 till now and i used to do arab drifting content but believe me when i say you can create a lot of sweet LFS content but you need to discover the whole game first after that you can be ready to go ^^
Honestly this is the best Drift simulator in my opinion.... I have been playing allot of carxdrift on console, but I still remember the 15 years of me drifting in live for speed.... The more you drift the tires start to smoke more ... Back then also we did not have to many options in the car department... I do not think this game will ever die... Carxdrift is the closest thing to the feeling of this game, execpt im dissapointed at the options in Carxdrift and the 20 year old game has them all... pits etc..... Carxdrift is what im playing allot now but it needs more create options and less cars.... Might just have to buy a pc again but to tell you the truth, this game runs on old pc's great!!!! Shout out to Goosiest love your channel and personality... Keep trying live for speed out you will really like it ... its really about setup even more so then carxdrift!!!

LFS always deserves the best appreciation, considering the release date, the physics, the tuning, the 3-man army who made it, the simplicity, the reliability, insant controller support for every single modern thing, the online, the low system requirements... The list goes on and on, it's surely a spectacular sim racing game when you consider everything. Every single time I open up LFS, I have a good time. I just can't stress enough how much I respect this game...
Goosiest! I'm still playing this game for 3-4 years and its so fun. We don't have any mods until 7B launched (except google mods). And you can drift without mods; you just need some information about tuning, tyre pressure etc. That's all im going to say. For the gamers who playing this game for first time, have fun with this game! Pls pin this comment. ty.
This was, and it's one of the best driving simulators that ever existed, I've raced "professionaly" on it from 2014 to 2018 and I can affirm it's almost the most closest game to reality I've ever played, just behind some mods of assetto corsa, and recently including the "easy way" to mod it was the best thing that the developers could do to bring it again to life, it was a shame before that it seems to be abandoned by them, but let's hope they finally bring it back to life
I have played more than 10 years LFS. I think LFS's mechanics are the best simulated mechanics in all car game. And the controller compalibility is well working than other games. Maybe iRacing is same level with LFS. In the 0.6R version, LFS had a third party program that name is LFS Pro Tweak. I don't know is it still there but if you will play LFS, you must use this kind programs for more fun, no tyre damage etc.
been playing this game since 2015, now drifting with different cars in tandems is best, one minus is that you cant put other tyres, or drift tyres. But its fun
Yes you can put different tyres. Make a new setup then go to the Wheels/Tyres section or whatever its called, and change tyres. Stock will be either Road_Normal, Road_Super or Slick. You can choose "drifting tyres" as knobbly or hybrid.
BTW.. if someone have good setup or tuning for his car he can share it with you directly when he press on SS next to your name in-game !! old is gold I remember this game came with a racing magazine as a demo CD when I downloaded it.
Still one of the most realistic sims out there! Tip: You can hit F9 to see the tire temps and clutch wear and G meter, F10 to see if there's any suspension damage from collisions, and F to see all the forces in real time!
I playing lfs for almost 15 years now. This game is sick and you can never be bored. Everyone should try it, but without mods in s3 many people not gona like it
Everything was pretty decent. But the moment when you just said that it is 20years old game, It just blew my mind!! It Surely needs some attention. Feels Like Assetto too.. The developers need to come back . Keep it up bro.. I love your videos.
I have been playing lfs from 2006, other than the tire heating up so fast with the now mods cars, it feels the best sim out there, but hey Scawen is working on tire physics, so maybe next year we will finally have this fixed. LFS 4 life
So many hours on this game… u being me back 20 years ago 😢miss the struggle to learn how to drift😂 i remember i “cheat” the game to play online and have all the cars😅 but now i will buy it ❤ devs deserve that
This was my first sim drifting the game, the old online lobbies were vibes ! The track editing tool and the way the host can load map layouts and send layouts, send tunes ingame, was amazing !!! I did not know about the ingame mod window and it working online, i might come back from time to time! Also the game having tyre wear is huge. You can skin design with templates in photoshop too and upload to their site to show in online lobbies, got me into graphic design !
The best thing in this game is that you don't need to have steering wheel, because mouse support is well done made. I remember, having nice time drifting with friends in a clan on a private server. Still have a video from LFS on my channel tho... Try finding servers where are autocross layout's strictly for drifting. I recommend you using XRT and a setup designed for drift, you can download them from the official lfs page. Have fun!
I've heard carx physics are SO different from Asseto Corsa, this seems like a PERFECT entry to drift for newbies who don't wanna drop something on asseto.

The reason of why you blow off your tyres so fast, because this game have realistic tyre physics, if u have a lot of power = more faster your blow off your tyres
i remember playing this game probably in the 2000 s whit mouse steering its funny it run on a dual core processor whit high frame rate and the game still looks decent , back then developers cared about optimization
Man oh man I love and LOVED LFS. I still have it installed. I remember doing drags on Blackwood in the free version. I've spent many an hour racing the XFG's. I've never drifted in it since I can't drift but this game is amazing. Great physics, damage does affect the car. Definitely worth for a free game, even though it's a bit dead these days.

First time i played this i was a child, it was like 2013 or 2014 it was on my brothers old windows 98, it crashed constantly but i sure as shit loved the game because when i finally got my own laptop i downloaded this game almost instantly right after team fortress 2
The reason of why you blow off your tyres so fast, because this game have realistic tyre physics, if u have a lot of power = more faster your blow off your tyres
Tyre physics in LFS are far from realistic, the way the tyres heat up and lose grip is awful.
bro your accent is so funny. im saying this in a good way. i love your accent ! and also good content.
I remember playing this game back in the day and honestly it’s the same it didn’t change it was sick and the servers are always full
bro this game has the same age as me and it's incredible that looks so good. i want u to continue this
Daaamn, this game brings back so many memories 😭, oh fyi Valtteri Bottas the f1 driver used to be an active admin for lfs... 😄
i remember playing this game probably in the 2000 s whit mouse steering its funny it run on a dual core processor whit high frame rate and the game still looks decent , back then developers cared about optimization
Ah told you bro.. thx for making this 🥰 ur drifting well 😘
yeah, more live for speed video 🔥🔥💪🏻😎
Finally you played LFS, I told you months ago to try it, and now you are hooked on the game heheheh
