  • Social advocates are calling for justice after disturbing claims of inmate mistreatment at South Woods State Prison. They say a recent water outage at the facility forced prisoners to live in degrading conditions for days. They also say there are alarming reports of physical abuse, including an underground fight club where officers force prisoners to take part.

I was just there and then Bayside.. both are horrendous, and south woods will NEVER get shut down.. its an enormous prison. And there are way more than 1000 people there.. each FAC has got at least 800 people and theres three FAC'S plus the minimum camps..

God bless these men. People do make mistakes, but instead of leading them back towards the wrong road, the system should educate them so they can come home with a motivated mind to keep moving forward. It is so sad to hear that these guys are put to fight. Unless it is your child or family member, you probably don't care, but many of these guys have a mother, a father, a husband or a wife, a child, or children waiting for them.
Please be contagious and spread kindness. Maybe the world would be a better place.

I pray everyday that these man and woman notice that life can pick up after a mistake . It's your choice to keep moving forward and forget the past. No one is perfect but as adults we can make a difference.

Good hope that place gets shut down. I know of accounts of people being mistreated there. This is just the beginning for that place. Next up is a multi million lawsuit.

It was horrible at this time. I have messages on my jplayer where administration told us the water was safe to drink again then another message 4 hours later telling us it wasnt safe to drink. Im willing to talk about whats going on in there i just got home this week. We just had a hunger strike on my unit for unfair treatment.

I did 5 in Trenton and another 5 in Riverfront. Prisoners are soft these days. Need to stand up and be men. You know what I mean.

@@user-qh5br9jl9g the camps were dorms, I was in faze 1 house 1-1-r. I heard the guards we're a lot worse but, when they closed southern they brought most of the cos from there. Honestly it was easy time

@@user-qh5br9jl9g its cell blocks. The guards treat you how you treat them for the most part. There are a few who probably should not be in charge of human lives.
