What I like the most, away from everyone. Smidgen old for this at 65. Thanks. Queenslander but have been in Collie for approximately 18 months. Husband happy to stay put. 2020 travelled to Derby. Head out in about 11 days doing the GRR. Thanks
The more I see of WA on RUclips, the more I realise that even if I spent over a year touring around, I would still be scratching the surface.... thanks for sharing Salty.
Also DAYUM! Some of that footage is insane. Love the emus. And the salt lakes. And that red dirt with scattered spinifex that takes me back, in my mind.
There is just something about your videos, you just take it to another level! Love your work Salty, I was having shitty day up until I saw your video! 😊 thank you!
I’ve been here with you, and it is surely a special spot. Somehow, you’ve managed to capture that feeling. The comforting warmth. The lovely solitude. The stark, beauty of the land that makes me hold my breath in case I miss something - though mostly nothing is actually happening, except for that surrounding beauty in everything, which is non-stop.
Very cool watch! We will head out there someday. Feeling inspired by this.. finding your own isolated camp spot sounds amazing and something we have to try.. really appreciating your knowledge of the local landscape and trees ect aswell. Nice
Absolutely beautiful in every aspect Salty! I am myself much like you when it comes to treveling, i look for real adventure as far away from everything only to be with with our wild and beautiful mother nature.
I was on that road 3 weeks ago (Yalgoo Ninghan Rd) on a delivery to a mine site. I enjoy the deliveries I do, they take me to places that I would like to come back to and spend some time exploring.
In case you have not already researched the Wool Wagon Pathway, it starts at a small town called Pindar on the Geraldton Mt Magnet rd travelling north to Gascoyne Junction and then up the eastern side of the Kennedy Range and across to Exmouth. Well worth the trip
Camping on your own is the best camping you can do, I like just sitting by the camp fire and drinking a Coffey to watch the sun set or rise. (and PS I'm well in my 70's and still nick of any time I can on my own.
You'd enjoy the Woolwagon Pathway... runs from Gero across to Pindar (Wildflower Country) then heads north through the Murchison to Exmouth... be right up your alley...Great Vid M8... see ya on Greenmount haha !
Hi mate, a word of caution....we were out that way about 2 years ago, when our mate lost his dog to 1080 bait, so please take care as it's used extensively these days. Cheers mate
My exact thoughts unfortunately. I've done it once but never again will I take my dog out prospecting. The most inhumane death. I wouldn't wish it on anything, even wild dogs, foxes or cats for that matter.
Those salt lakes can be a trap when they look dry and hard. The crust can give under the wheels . then you can be stuck in very slippery brown clay/mud. Real trap can be difficult to get out... Been there done that.
awesome upload. was just wondering what sun-visor mounts you have. they seem to be a clamp and i would love that option instead of drilling into my pillar on a 76. been tossing it up but that looks like an awesome solution. Thank you, keep the uploads coming
Mate - you missed the best part in Paynes Find. Across from the roadhouse back off the road where the new Telstra tower is you will find PILROC RETREAT run by Dave & Gail. You seriously need to drop in there and say G'day and meet the real centre of Paynes.. :)
Mate we're about to go more remote with our pup as well. I see your buddy happily chewing sticks etc. Do you constantly keep an eye out for 1080? Muzzle? Cheers awesome video and I'm only halfway through :)
@@SaltyDavenport I really hate to say this mate, I don't know if you have seen a dog that takes a bait. You should be prepared to put your mate out of his misery if he does. What I mean is, if you don't have a firearm, are you prepared to use a hammer?. Do you know what a bait looks like?. Obviously you want the best life for your mate, and leaving him at home doesn't seem to fit, especially a bluey. Best of luck, great vid.
Colin Head thanks mate. I’m grown up and well aware of the consequences. I’ve grown up on and around stations so I know the go. I’m not going to be like every other human and just leave their dog in a yard at home instead. The dogs and I are here living our best lives no matter how long or short that may be.
I think there is more traffic out there than normal because of Covid and the closed borders. People are roadtripping around the state since they cannot go over east or abroad.
Great video man - an area close to my heart. You’ve got the right idea about camping - not seeing anyone is bliss! How do you go with the dogs and the 1080 baits / the chance of doggers/shooters operating in the area? We always give the private operational stations a buzz if we’re planning to go on their land after an unpleasant situation in the early 2000s.
Hey Jon, Thanks for the comment. I've very aware of the pups and what they're up to. Regarding shooters, they would be blind as a bat to not see myself with the dogs. I rarely let them wander more than 30m from myself or the car. Good call with the station contacts though, I might start doing that.
Station people do not own the land, and have no legal rights to evict people from any property or patrol leases. They lease the grass on the pastrol properties. Not unless the station or farm is Freehold.
It's a pity you don't show a bit more respect for the "bush", purposefully driving over scrub that could have been avoided if you were a bit more focussed on the environment and not yourself. I hope you don't proclaim yourself to be a "bushie".
I am far from a troll. I was just shocked to see that. As a nature and adventure loving likeminded person on this incredible land. Beautiful footage but please think more about the lines you take through the bush in your beautiful vehicle too because the bush needs to be treated with care and love
...A couple of things, ...Firstly, it is pretty disrespectful to just wander onto that station and camp in the hills. I know the owners of that station very well and they are more than welcoming of visitors. However, it is good for them to know who is on the property and where they are at any time. All you had to do was pop into the homestead first. It is not a good idea to broadcast publicly in your video that it is o.k. to just wander onto someone's land, make your own tracks when ever and where ever you wish. Secondly, I know for a fact that there is widespread baiting and trapping of wild dogs across that whole station and you take a big risk in letting your pet roam around. Show some respect to our indigenous land owners and use a bit of caution and common sense when taking your pet into the outback.
Thanks mate. I believe where I was camped is unallocated crown land and the other was within a mining lease and I was there on a fossicking license. However I can image there are grey areas. Please provide your good friends details in a comment below though as I always try and do the right by property owners and I’ve always wanted to know who’s station it is. Cheers.

Thanks for the content mate, was wondering where you can buy the arm rest insert? Love the Troopy, mine arrives next week!
Hey mate, I would love to know who makes them, however it was a present and theres no branding on it.
@@SaltyDavenport no worries man, cheers for the reply. Loving the videos. 👍
They are sold in the Gulf - I bought mine in Riyadh. Al Sanidi is one company that makes them.
Here’s a link to one via the UAE (the cloth ones better, I think. Less sweaty! www.amazon.ae/Al-Sanidi-Leather-Pockets-Beige/dp/B07MVWL1XG
Dingo 4x4 in Rockingham makes an arm rest for the cruiser too. Worth checking out.

Watch your Dog mate ..remember the baits on the station country ...Just a heads up ..enjoy the beautiful red country
Thanks Steven, Yeah I watch him and my other Bluey like a hawk. Theres only so much we can do though when we love travelling with the pups.
Salty Davenport good stuff mate I live a couple hours north of we’re you we’re camped ...enjoyed your video .and great looking dog
Pissing opportunity, well we might just have a go
Great vid mate!! What rooftop tent you running.? Does the dog sleep up there too?
Karara bushrange was awesome in late august
Ripper mate, Salt lake footage was epic. Just curious on what pressures you run for the highway? I run the Cooper discos aswell on me troopy cheers!
Parked up at the PF Roadhouse for a few days right now. Hopefully find a bit of gold while we are here.
The Shire of Yalgoo is a great area to explore

Where can we buy your prints mate?
500t for 3kg of gold is 6g/t. Thats not a bad grade these days. Not the best for shovels and wheelbarrows.
Mate we're about to go more remote with our pup as well. I see your buddy happily chewing sticks etc. Do you constantly keep an eye out for 1080? Muzzle? Cheers awesome video and I'm only halfway through :)

fireslayer haha glasshouses mate. That title is grossly outdated by the way.
Also very disappointed to see such disrespect of native plant life just driving over the top of bushes😩
