    Hi friend my brother and I are going to SLR this Saturday we are fairly new anglers. Is there a place along the lake you can recommend we check out? We are coming from Stockton. My brother has never caught a fish and I really hope I can take him to get his first

      Hello, If you are going to SLR, I would recommend park by the Romeo Visitor Center and hike down to the left side toward the DAM areas. When you see the big sign said, stay away from the dam 500 feet instead of going up on the road. You go where the small walk way towards the cove and fish there. The videos I posted, striper madness, you kind of get the ideas I hike down and walk towards the big sign, then turn rights continue, and you will see the cove. Good luck out there and watch out for rattlesnakes. Thanks for watching.🤙

      @@newworldfishing2452 I was out there yesterday but had no luck. I was using two hooks with anchovie on a Carolina rig. Is that a good way to bait for stripers?

    • @newworldfishing2452
      @newworldfishing2452  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@JaRa911 No, I haven’t tried other kinds of rigging except Carolina rig, I found that’s the most effective way to catch stripers. When you fishing by the cove don’t cast too far out, maybe 20 to 30 yards is good enough because stripers is not far away since water is coming up. You will catch it next’s time, just don’t give up. Thanks for watching.🤙

    What hooks do you recommend and what size? great video!

    • @newworldfishing2452
      @newworldfishing2452  10 месяцев назад

      I always used size 3, maybe 4, in some places. It’s depends on personal preferences. I would recommend size 5, plus if your lake has a bigger fish, I’m talking about 45 inches striper. Always used high quality hooks because bigger fish will bend your hook. Thanks for watching.🤙

    Hey dudde net time let know when ur going once where is o'neill forebay how get there

    • @newworldfishing2452
      @newworldfishing2452  10 месяцев назад

      You can get to O’Neill Forebay along highway 152. if you are coming from Los Banos, it’s on your right side past the bridges . It’s depends on which sides you go entrance 152 or 33. Please don’t park by check 13 because you will get a ticket. Some people cut the signs, said no parking, and threw them away. Check the Google maps if you are not sure how to get there. Thanks for watching. Tight lines! 🤙🙌👊

    Nice video very good place just a quick tip: in my opinion i think you shouldnt make a long video just to catch one fish cause i think is the main reason of the video fish, i have to wait almost at the end to finally see a fish. Juts my opinion but i love the area and the tips to fish thank you 👍🏻

      I make it long video because I’m showing people how to set up their reel and rods if they are fishing for the first time. Actually, I do it because one of my subscribers requested video. The fish caught it’s just a bonus. Loved the comment. Thanks for watching. 🤙

    Im just amazed how you guys walk through 2 country to get to your fishing spot, did they ever find the hmong old man that went missing there?

    • @newworldfishing2452
      @newworldfishing2452  10 месяцев назад

      It’s not that far of a walk. You will eventually make it there to your fishing spot. Hmong old man went missing 6 months ago found dead at the scene by the San Luis Reservoir water rescue team. Just a head up, be careful anybody that goes fishing at San Luis reservoir during the spring to fall season that’s when rattle snakes come out to play so avoid tall grass areas and watch where you are stepping on. Also, when you are planning to stay longer at night, bring a flashlight so you won’t step on the snakes. Thanks for watching.

      Yes, fish bite early before sun rises. All those thieves one days, they will get caught from trespassing. I know they do that just for the living, but when times come it’s their time. Thanks for the lookout fish on. Thanks for watching.
