@@moriartysdemise Ok genius, coach Satt, who was “cooking”, hasn’t managed to coordinate an offense at Nebraska that has scored 30 points vs a power conference team yet. Dylan running the ball a couple times early in the game payed dividends for the whole game. He has to be willing to take what the defense gives him. He needs to keep the defense questioning - which happened in this game.
We had more first downs Dominated time of possession Better third down conversion Better yards per rush And roughly same total yards The issue was we also had twice the amount of penalties and raiola is still growing. His lack of experience wasn’t all that noticeable until we hit big ten play, but it’s very obvious now. Will Howard found his open receivers, raiola overthrows his, and not just today. That’s not satterfield
There were some of us who thought Nebraska had a chance in this game. I tweeted I’d be more disappointed if they didn’t show up against OSU than against IU. That’s because I thought the coaches got too comfortable putting up with missed assignments. I shared when that’s happening they’re either coaching it or condoning it & I didn’t think they were coaching it. The players did their jobs at higher levels against OSU. They’re capable, coaches must demand it or play the guys who will get it done. The guys stepped up! It’s important to see each week as it’s own. The team needs to build off of last week but the following week is its own game. We need to figure out the offense being more consistent. Dillon needs to complete those wide open throws also (we all know he can). There is no conspiracy with the officials. They’re just bad. They need to hire full time officials. Onward to the Bruins. We need to get this win. GBR!
I think we're taking a little far in saying that we "should have" won. Dylan missed two open touchdowns and was not Elite when he had to be. Our defense played great but they got smoked over the top and couldn't get the game winning stop I think it's more accurate to say we "could have" won.
Rhule was 100% right in clock management to call timeouts on defense to save time on offense. Ohio State would’ve drained 40 seconds each on those timeouts , you save way more time on defense than if you save the timeouts for offense
We noticed the spotting issue immediately - the official continued to spot the ball where the knee was down not where the ball was at - I’ve never seen anything like it.
I think personally more of the same. Still not making the plays to win games. I was proud of the response after last weeks disaster, but at the same time this is the same old Nebraska. I think it’s time to hold Raiola accountable and quit pampering him with the freshman quarterback label. He needs to start executing better with his passes. Defensively, I would have really liked to see us stick our chest out and get the big stop after taking the lead, because OSU just went down the field with ease with a bad o line. Today felt like we played good but we aren’t making the big plays to win the game though. On a high night we made some dang field goals! Again, Satts red zone play calling is highly questionable. Seems like he just doesn’t know how to dial it up.
Rewatch the tape. If there’s a pivotal run play or screen, watch #4 Banks miss the block. I think we should run away from him or let him run/catch the ball. Hes not making any blocks, crack blocks on runs, outside blocks on screens. Satt’s plays will work but players gotta pick up those blocks
