  • Charles Sturt University employs an Animal Welfare Officer to work in the Research Integrity Unit.
This role provides advice, support, technical expertise, compliance and policy leadership on matters relating to animal care and welfare in scientific use.
The animal welfare officer serves as the university’s primary stakeholder advisor and animal advocate in relation to matters of animal welfare, working directly with the animal ethics committee.
This ensures all animal use is ethically sound while actively looking at ways it can be reduced, refined, or replaced.
