1998: RE 2, Metal Gear Solid, and Zelda: Ocarina of Time. What a great year for Gaming.

My parents just got me this game with a PS1 slim, I wasn’t around when resident evil came out, so this was a huge treat for me, I played it and it was really good and fun I really recommend it 👍🏾

Resident Evil 2 is one of the best games ever. I beat it plenty of times but yet find myself going back and playing it again on a regular. The G.O.A.T hands down in it's genre by far it has no competition in my eyes.
Ah this game, the charm, the atmosphere, the ambience, everything about this game was just yelling masterful creation. Loved everything about it; While RE2 was re imagined, I don't consider the 2019 game the same game as the 1998 version. The 98 version has its own place for me in history and all those factors listed above play a role.
RE2 is my all time favorite game In the series, it was my first RE title and it’s just such a well made game in general. I own almost every version and the perfect guide, that’s how much I love this game
I love me some claire now, however chris redfield is my og hero. Watch my dad as a kid beating the game as chris. It the the first game I was introduced to, and it's also one of my oldest memories. This game taught me patience and persistence
Finally after 22 years I unlocked the Hunk Mini game after 3 B ranks and an A, and I have an N64 version but did I use cheat codes, no I didn't. Thought I would die without unlocking that sh1t. I never really thought of it as a step toward action, but you are right and they went another notch up in 3 with Nemesis.

This game had soo much content for a game made in 1998. 2019 Reboot really missed the ball. I was hoping Capcom dev team could've studied and played RE1 gamecube/Steam and then RE2 1998 and then made RE2 Remake proper......
Played RE since 1997 when I was first introduced to Directors cut (I traded some dude back then Rampage world tour for the N64 for RE1 Directors cut for PS1 with that weird ass artwork in the front)... Been a fan since.
i actually prefer mr x to be less persistent. In the remake its very exciting at the begining but he ends up just being an annoying asshole. And when you combine him with a hallway full of lickers that appeared from nowhere its just broken because if you run you alert the lickers and attack you, if you dont run mr x gets to you and attack you and if you fight the creepers both of them mr x and the fucking lickers attacks you. It feels so cheap.
I played this game when it came out on N64. I don't think I've ever liked another horror game as much. I was 11 and it gave me nightmares, but for some reason I couldn't give it up.
I recently caught, for the first time, the DeLorean at the beginning of Scenario B. The graphics have aged very well. The atmosphere is fantastic and I can't say enough about the fantastic music.
Fav resident evil game hands down love to replay this game alot only wished it had more unlockable weapons and mercenaries
I know this is months late, but the solution to the puzzle is something like this. The wheel says "Queen, King, Jack" in that order. The numbers on the flames are 11, 12, and 13, which on a deck of cards, would correspond to the Jack, Queen, and King respectively. You would have to do the middle, right, and then left in that order to get the gear. It isn't very obvious admittedly.
I love that this game has hardly any camp. It's very tense all the say through and coild be a stand alone game!

For the puzzle where you have to to turn on the gas faucets to get the gear in the press room, the picture containing the gear has description that gives a clue to solve the puzzle and it says something like the Queen first then the Jack and then the king. The answer to the puzzle is 12, then 11 and finally 13, the numbers equates to the Queen, King and Jacks numerical level in a deck of cards. I remember solving this puzzle when I played Resident Evil 2 for the first time and I really joined solving it even if it was simple and the puzzle was probably the best one in the whole game, though there wasn’t many brain teasers to contend with in the game besides the simple where does this item go and where can I use it puzzles.

RE2 was just a beast of a game. So much replay value Claire A and B Missions. Then, Leon's A and B Missions. Those lickers were so much more terrifying than the Hunters in RE1.
Also, 6:56 Backstreet Boys or N Sync. You can only pick one. What do you do 😆🎵

It looks like you played the PC version based on context clues, that version is based on the Japanese / International version and is a bit easier than the US release, so you might want to give that a spin and see if that challenges you more adequately! Great video, a very interesting perspective.

Jerry Mandarin yeah I did see that! But I won’t get hype any news, announcement or demos about Silent Hill until I have the physical game in my hands. P.T burned me.

Loved the originals and the OG remake (The only one fit to the word "Remake".) These re-imaginated versions lack of creativity, motivation, and emotions...they replaced the fragile humanity on a point where you need to survive with more cursing and much more empowerment.
Fuck man. I dunno about that Irons guy. He seems a bit suspicious...
Also, now I really need to beat my previous time on this game again. Look at what you've done.
Man, I didn't even remember how much better re2 looked on pc with svga graphics. Just booted re2 on ps3 and man everything looks quite bad.
jothain it’s such a good port and the mod makes it so much better. It’s easily the best way to play Resident Evil 2!

Psx/N64/Saturn: the puzzle block gen.
Mr. X should be more looming presence not knowing when he will strike, but RE2remake ruined him completely because it turned game into running since he cannot be killed until the end. Any enemy that cannot be defeated for some time is bad decision. That also had effect on exploration of police station but since remake removed what character thing when pressing on something, entire game had less atmosphere and RE2 remake didn't have good atmosphere at all even in beginning
