What fun! I'm a Vermont VW nut and just picked up a 67 Velvet Green Westfalia in Burlington. I look forward to adventures in my "new" bus. I love seeing you out exploring in an amazing VW. :)

Finally, a new video!!! So good to see you and Violet again. I certainly identify with your slow exploration theory..........so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Seeing dirt bikes, snowmobiles and ATV's screaming through old roads and trails never made any sense to me. Stay safe Peter.

I have 67 vw splittie and bought disc brakes instead of the safari windows. I am grabbing the safari windows now. The VW engine is the simplest engine on earth to fix. The key is just to try it. Make mistakes until you get it. What most vw people do is pick up a few motors and rebuild them in your free time. The Vw split bus was originally built for dirt roads as well as snow. The first gear is robust and in my experience the split bus (with proper tires) is a shockingly good offroad vehicle. Im in Rhode Island. Keep your channel going and it will grow. There are not many split window bus channels that involve snow so if you can give us some snow footage and camping in the Vw..

I wondered what size tire you were running and I thought this was Mt Shasta in New Mexico for a minute. You have a good take on things and that comes across.Do dome spark plug readings to get your carbs dialed in. Keep 'em coming! Hello from Boston.

You need to get a book to help you learn how to do your own work. Get " How to keep your Volkswagen alive" I think it was written by John Muir. It's the bible for doing your own work !
I had a '57 van, cargo, with doors on both sides in the rear, I used it to carry dirt bikes, ride in one side and out the other. Had a 1500 engine, bought it for $75 back in '73.

You do not have to be able to do the things you seem are obligatory when owning g a bus. You do as much as you can.
