Hey I just had this problem happen to me up on a mountain. Couldn’t drive it down and didn’t want to have it towed so I got all the tools needed for a diff cover removal and cleaning but was hoping for some luck, I bought a set of angled picks with a 45 and 90 degree angle and with the 90 degree I was able to slip it in through the filler hole s d feel around till I was able to pop it over. I did it with the front 2 wheels lifted with jack stands and I was wiggling them which I think helped. I’ll be keeping that tool in the Jeep from now on! But your video helped me a lot to understand and fix it so thanks!
My front lockers were stuck driving home from trails yesterday. Turning was unbelievable! Thought my power steering box shit the bed. I’m gonna do this today. Thanks
Great idea man, I have the same issue, everytime I lock it on the trail it doesnt unlock. And with the 'dual' switch when trying to unlock the rear and you mispress you lock the front aswell and are fckd... did you get the multiple switches in? I would love to see how you did that and steal that idea aswell :D
Ok up date. It was not the locker solenoid. My problem was the plunger broke and because the locker is magnetic, it was dirty.. if you are having locker issues first buy a new solenoid. If that’s not it you have to take the cover off clean the locker magnet with brake cleaner. And retest. It’s one of three things.. the cheapest is to buy a new solenoid the second cheapest is to buy a plunger… plunger is only for your light on the dashboard it does nothing to engage or disengage. And the third would be to replace your locker.
is it any worse than 7.3 diesel crossmembers that prevent removal of the oil pan ? I cut out the centre of my F450 crossmember today, so it's on my mind. The plan is to redesign a deeper crossmember.

We can put a small angle on give screw driver and do it thru the main diff hole
Good idea young man.
Awesome video
Well done, I dig it
Use blue loctite on the screws and let them cure. Seals and stays put.
i like it!
Did you ever figure out how to fix it right? I got the same problem
My problem is the opposite, the front won't lock up and continues to flash. What do you recommend?

I’m guessing it’s the lockers solenoid located on the axle ? I bought a new one hopefully it works

Did I hear ya fart?
matt matter i was hoping no one caught me talking shit
Haha haha! Thought I was hearing things!
Don't make an angled tool or anything hahaha that'd be ridiculous, just drill and tap four holes in your diff cover. Derp 😂
Spend that much on a Rubicon and have to deal with that blah

Every vehicle ever made has its issues and quirks. What a stupid comment 🥴
There is a reusable gasket called Lube Locker, get 2 of them. Huge time Saver.
