Real Men Real Style Hello Antonio, great video. When I have my shirts tailored made, my tailor always asks me about the collar, and I never know what to say. The only thing I know is that I don’t like Button Down Button Collar (which seems you love). Greetings from Colombia South America.

This video truly is the Ultimate Guide! I’m buying my first “adult suit” on my own this weekend and this was JUST what I needed. Now I am confident I will walk in/out of that store with a proper suit. Thank you!
Antonio. I have been following your advise and videos for quite sometime now. I work in a Financial Institution environment where business attire is strongly encouraged. Normally I would wear just dress pants and shirts with a tie. However as of late, I've incorporated blazers, tie bars, pocket squares and watches to my wardrobe and the results have been quite astonishing. I've received so many complements and interest from the opposite sex. The way people approach me has even been noticeable. I even had a young women tell me that i look like someone that has it all figured out and that if i was not married she would make me date her!!! Attitude is everything, I look and feel good and people pick up on that. Thank you for everything you do for this community!!! Keep it up!!
Real Men Real Style Yes, The Kiaros white/silver with the tan croc band is a very clean watch that I have been interested in. The simplistic design of this watch screams luxury. Love it.
Saw this beautiful tuxedo coat at a thrift, had to buy it since it matched my needs for what I want my tux to look like. I mean, come on, I looked like I spent thousands when I only paid 4 bucks lol
Literally bought a tan/cream suit for my highschool graduation some months back. I was the the only one with such a colour and made me stand out, got some compliments, joked about it with me classmates. It just made the day more memorable. While looking back now I think a more neutral colour would have worked better in the long run, that suit served me fantastically for the occassion. So in short, from an 18 year old who literally only has a single suit and is just now trying to move towards a more formal style (might be cause I feel obliged to now that I'm studying law), just get what you want most and you will enjoy wearing it the most.
Antonio, love your videos! 19 currently, and I really have upgraded my style (and personality) from "Modern Edgy Child" to "I'm mature and I mean business" since I'm a Freelancer programmer. You're really helping! Thanx again. Keep it up!
I'm in my 40's and just got my first real suit made to my measurements from Indochino. The only "suit" I have with everything I've always wanted, double vents, working cuff buttons, and I get amazing compliments. Thanks for all the advice! It's helped me dress mite intentionally.
Antonio, you have, yet again, done young men a true service with this video. Some may say it is conservative, but you have given men, especially young men with the ambition to make their way in the world, information that will serve them well. One of your best!
Appreciate that you need to make a living...but not a great watch...don’t buy it gentleman...Vincero is just not a quality watch for the $...look at Seiko, Oreint Citizen....for Swiss Tissot, Swatch...big fan Sir but that is not a good watch choice...Sorry...
Excellent for beginners. There is probably nothing that isn't covered in other videos, but it summarises very well the essential information for those in a hurry. It's a pity that this material isn't appreciated by the viewers - less than 100k views after more than a year. But I hope sooner or later this video becomes a classic.
Antonio, thank you for your wonderful videos! I'm 59, and work at a local radio station, covering ag news. I've always worn at least a shirt & tie at work, even though others I work with don't. When I cover events, I wear a suit & tie, or at least a blazer with a tie. Again, thank you for sharing!
This is probably your most comprehensive video ever. It has the most important details of every aspect of a formal dressing. Definitely something to favorite and keep handy for future reference. Thank you, Antonio!
I recently commissioned my first ever Bespoke Tailored Suit and I couldn't be more excited. This video was one of the first videos I watched from this channel and I just want to say thank you for all that you do for suit loving gentlemen wordwide.
Thank you Antonio. I enjoyed your video. Your smart use of visuals, great pacing, voice clarity, and mastery of your subject makes this an exceptional presentation!
First, I love how you went over everything piece by piece. It's very helpful. Following is both my question and a watch pairing with my 1st suit to be. 1) Something I'd like to know is what knots to wear and WHEN to wear each. I've read your article for "4 tie knots every man must know" and saw your new bow tie video. I understand that the collar and proportions may play a part of the knot choice. I understand that bow ties are formal and the full Windsor portrays power such as CEO or a president. What about the other important knots? 2) The following is regarding my first suit I want to purchase and the watch I like. I'm just starting out in my style journey and so I would really like to purchase the navy blue jacket with traditional collar and slacks as my first. I like it better than the dark gray. Only two buttons up front is perfect. The white button up shirt with a deep dark red silk tie would be bold yet attractive. These would go very nicely with my brand new dark brown Chelsea boots that I just bought. I love those so much. Accessorizing with the Vincero watches, the Chrono S matte black and The Bellwether matte black would both look nice. Both are very attractive and compliment this first outfit well. Choosing just one to wear, I really like the Chrono S the best. I actually like both but it just seems to have a sight edge in my preference.
Real Men Real Style Hi Antonio, I apologize for the late response. To answer your questions, I currently live in Seattle, Washington. I've been following your channel for a few months now. I honestly don't remember where exactly I found your channel although it's during my efforts to reinvent myself after a recent tragedy. I'm learning alot from you and the books I'm reading thus I'm determined to be successful. Regarding your previous question, the Chrono S Matte Black is my favorite of the two time pieces.
Wow, the most coherent and quality video I've seen on suits, especially for beginners like me, young men who are new to formal clothing like me. Thank you Antonio.
today is my 52nd birthday and I'm going to buy my first suit for my sons upcoming, low key, wedding. After a lifetime in the military where the closest I had to a suit was my "Class A's", I really appreciated the information!
I was hoping you would get to comments on pricing. Obviously, pricing is relative and subjective, but I'd be interested in your opinion. What's the difference between a $500 suit and a $1500 suit ? Are famous designers always the way to go ? Are any of the menswear chains such as Mens Wearhouse worth buying from ?
Fabric quality, full canvas vs half canvas, surgeon's cuffs, stuff like that. Though honestly, for $1500 I'd just buy an airline ticket to Thailand. Not only you can spend a nice holiday there but they can make you a very decent bespoke suit for $400-ish. It might sound like a joke but I'm serious, it's a much better use of your money.
Great great video! Wish I had this when I was thinking about my first suit in my 20s. Even so the details in this video can still apply those of us later in life. Thank you!
These videos should be shown in high school. Fathers and sons should watch these videos together. Looking classy and elegant *aides* you in any endeavor. Thank you for this relevant content.
Hi Antonio, first of all you give the best styling tips and I really like your videos and articles. i am a 22 years old student from Germany. The black watch is my favourite. For my sister's wedding this summer, I am going to buy a navy suit. I am thinking about a three piece suite, because of the location. It's going to be in Turkey and I want to take of my jacket but still look better then others (this part depends on price). A white shirt with a solid dark colored tie should be the best. Black shoes, black socks and a white pocket square and it is on point. The watch would round off the hole outfit. Greetings from Germany 🙂
Would it be possible to do a video on leather jacket tailoring and talk about what can and cannot be adjusted on a leather jacket and how much each adjustment costs roughly?
Real Men Real Style Im going to ping you a message whats your thoughts on tench coats? really love the old school trench coats from the 90s. Watching the x files and loving the black and grey trench coats the agents throughout the earlier series.
So, I recently bought one of Vincero's watches as a Christmas present for myself. It took them 3 weeks to deliver it to me in Germany (with FedEx Premium shipping). On their customs declaration they wrote, that the watch had only cost $60, instead of $160... Now this would've been easily taken care of, if the support was a little more responsive, in the end it felt like I had to teach them how international shipping works. I have it now, it's an awesome watch and definitely worth it's price tag, but not really worth the headache...
Just a bit of advice, for that price you could actually get a mechanical timepiece from a reputable watchmaker such as Seiko or Orient. If you prefer a quartz watch, get a Citizen or Timex as the quality control of fashion watches such as Vincero is very poor. Just speaking from experience here.
Thank you for these tips. Would like more info on were to start when you have no need to be really formal. I really like Victorian, Edwardian, and Early Modern styles myself. So figured I'd start there.
The black face, silver case chrono watch would be perfect for my use in school where we wear business casual as well as when I go out or in job interviews. I'm quite young compared to most viewers and it would be my first quality watch.
Hello Antonio, I believe I owe you a thank you! after a couple years following your advice I finally saved up for my dream suit! ( navy checked double breasted ) from tailor store and I have never been happier so thank you for taking the time and effort to create these videos!
Thanks I decided to get more of a statement suit as it is more my style and I already managed to get a £299 navy suit for £160 in a clearance sale so I have a basic suit if needed
@RMRS. Thank you for your service. Now for my question. I would like to see a video on what to purchase first or at same time. Dress shoes, suits, shirts, ties, belts. Example I buy dress shoes at a shoe store then go to a clothing store for a suit(s) to match with and hem properly? Should suit coats and sport jackets/blazers be bought first or dress shirts. Is there an order to what you buy first? Thanks.
Not many talk about the height of the button and. Another important factor is the point where the legs of the trousers come together on the inside. I found that most jackets do not come below this point as it looks weird when you close the jacket.
Excellent vid Antonio! Your content is always a pleasure to watch. Suitsupply seriously needs to start giving some love back. I only started buying stuff from them because your content gave me the knowledge to be confident in dressing a notch above. You and the Gentleman's Gazette are killing it as far as I'm concerned!
I currently own the basic suits you need. I have a Navy Blue, Charcoal, and Light Grey. I am thinking about buying a Navy windowpane suit. What are your thoughts on the windowpane suit, and can you please make a video on this suit style. Thanks
This is a great video thanks! The time has come for me to buy my first suit and I was feeling a little lost in the jungle with what to do...feeling a lot more confident now!
thank you very much. It's the best video of you which I've been watching so far. It is very interesting that you discuss not only suits as an individual piece but how to match it with other garments to some extent as well
I just bought my first suit earlier before I watched this video and I think I nailed almost every instruction here. I buy Cobalt Blue suit, is it right for a first suit?
Hello Antonio I would like to ask your opinion on having a charcoal grey vs a solid black suit for a funeral ceremony? I have never purchased a suit before however my grandfather recently passed away and I must return to Los Angeles for his memorial. The venue will be in a 4-star restaurant, my grandfather's previous place of employment, with multiple high level attendees which use to be my grandfather's clientele. I would like to ensure I dress appropriately being a family member of the deceased, however I am not completely sure if the custom of solid black can be slightly modified. Thank you for the input!
I almost never wear a suit but i needed one and im on a tight budget. I bought a Alan Duplet suit on line for $39. Gave them my measurements, got a suit and had it tailored. Looks great, feels comfortable to wear.
The black/ silver Chrono S would go really well with the charcoal suit I'd wear to really any events that I'm wearing that suit, or when I perform with my school band in our all black band uniform. Because of how few men wear watches, I think a beautiful watch like the Chrono S would really set me apart from other applicants when I go for my interview for the Canadian Forces in a few weeks. And informative as always with the content
Great video. I personally like my shirts to be interesting. I have worn burgundy, green, pink, black. I have a white shirt but I must've used it only once. Of course, most of those uses were for weddings, 'xcept one job interview -- which I didn't get, but for other reasons!
I've got a question, I bought a black sport coat a few years ago. It fit well on my shoulders, chest, and back however it was a little loose around my waist. I took it to a tailor and asked her to tighten up the waist but to leave the upper portion of the coat alone as it already fit well. When I got it back I noticed that she tightened up the waist perfectly but she also tightened up the upper back and now there are small ruffles on my upper back when I wear the suit. It isn't bad but it bothers me, can I bring it to a tailor and have them open back up just that part of the suit or am I going to need to buy a new one?
I need your advice. I literally wear suits 7 days a week. With my traveling for business, I am in front of customers 5 of those 7 days. I typically carry with me 3 to 4 different suits every week and rotate from a total of 6 to 7 suits. I typically purchase suits off the rack which, even with me rotating them, dont last a year. What brands do you recommend if I turn my purchasing a higher quality suit , shirt and tie? Thanks in advance for your advice.
thank you so much for the suggestion sir could you please tell me as a groom which type of suit is best for Wedding also which type of suit good for Party ?
Video is as excellent as ever It's nice that you've put everything to one video I've been following you for a long time Since I started follow you my style has improved greatly And people even began to react favorably to the way I dress. I'm an engineering student, and from where I am,people do not dress up. so it feel very good to be the best dresser in class. I just start to go to a job interviews so it would be nice if i get a new watch like THE CHRONO S BLUE/BLACK
My first suit is a medium blue one with a subtle pattern. The saleswoman at suitsupply recommended blue over grey for a younger guy (27). I still need a good dress shirt, tie and pocket square. Im not going too formal so my shoes also don't match your suggestions
You probably covered it a 100 videos ago but would like to see more about Fabric...not just color and pattern but what types for what purpose. Wool vs Cotten blend vs silk vs cashmere blends
I think you should add in a new category into your website/videos. Technology. It's 2017 and cellphones/wearable tech are increasing in function and of course style. Technology presents another detail in style that would widely be missed. There is a subtle message that would be conveyed to how a man presents himself if he's pulling out an android or apple, Flip phone or smartphone, Or even a Fitbit or fossil Q. Do you have any plans of adding on tech as a style point in fashion?
Learning social skills and technology fashion are two vastly different things. Everyone carries technology with them every day. Because a cellphone exists in your pocket doesn't automatically cause your ability to communicate deteriorate, if it does, a persons social skills weren't developed to begin with. Lets put it this way. You have the communication skills, you have the suit, you have the tie bar/cologne/cuff links, you even tied your shoes right. The girl is about to give you her phone number. And... you pull out your Coolpad defiant burner phone. Ew. The perception is like picking up your date in a 96 honda accord. They'll think your parents still pay for most of your bills. If fashion is about communication without speaking, then the technology you carry is and always will be part of that non-verbal communication. The future is today and we wont be going back to the 90's anytime soon.
Thanks for the great channel! I like how you keep it standard. Many channels incorporate their style and confuse that with the standard. I am not sure if people understand that but there is a standard and I like how you tell us that standard and let us decide how to incorporate our personality (if it fits the occasion). Anyway, thanks.
Hi Antonio, how many pair of suits one should have if one is in a business profile? Also how many times can you wear a pair before dry cleaning it? Thanks
A trouser press? Not an iron right? Have to check whether I'll get it in India or else will have to import. By the way the ox blood shoes is not there on Ace Marks where can I get that?
First of all, it was a great Video and it helps me looking for my first suite. But i have a few questions. The occasion is a prom cause i just passed my A-Levels. My girlfriend has a red wine coloured dress and i'm thinking about a charcoal suit. I also wanna match with my girlfriend in some way so I thought about a necktie and a pocket square in the same colour as her dress. Is that a good idea if i pair it with charcoal Jacket and Trousers and a white Dress Shirt? The other question would be what colour of shoe to wear with it? A black or a brown?
Hi thanks for the tips I live in Idaho what's the best place to find a tailor that will make it right for you and what about girls suits for a party or wedding
Thank you for your video!! I love that you know what you are talking about in every video!! I think your great!! Thank you for helping Jeremy Fragrance!!! 👍👍
I was able to get the 3 essential color suits at the local megamall on sale: buy 1 get 2 free. I couldn't pass it up. Got the suits tailored and 3 shirts for over $600.
I’m so clueless! Just turned 49 and need to revamp everything. My only need fo a suit is funerals and maybe weddings. Have owned them in the past but they shrunk. 😉 I have expensive taste on a much lighter budget. Where would you suggest for a good quality but not overly expensive suit.
Antonio thank you so much for your videos. I keep watching them. I knew this is not on its right place but what do you use for your hair? I love them. Thanks!
My first suit I bought last year its a plain white because I like the look and style of the disco type vibe it gives off. I wear it to whatever i need it for thats not professional but I’m a Teen so I don’t need to look professional for now

Hey Antonio thanks alot I really appreciate it!
Hello Antonio, I believe I owe you a thank you! after a couple years following your advice I finally saved up for my dream suit! ( navy checked double breasted ) from tailor store and I have never been happier so thank you for taking the time and effort to create these videos!
Great to hear that. I like that you really invested in buying a nice suit.
Thanks I decided to get more of a statement suit as it is more my style and I already managed to get a £299 navy suit for £160 in a clearance sale so I have a basic suit if needed
Super! Did you have a specific watch style in mind?
Very helpful video Antonio
Very very informative me and my stepdad are heading out next Saturday to get my first proper suit, thank you for the info.
Great video and very informative. "Purple, The Color of Kings" I agree. 16:56 was my favorite part!
Very comprehensive and cohesive guide.
My one critique, I would have liked more detail on pocket square folding.
This is the best detail vedio I've found on RUclips on suits....and for that you earn one new subscriber 👍
Thanks.
awesome! I love this video so much! I am going to buy my first suit for my academic conference next month. Thanks a million!
ok, you have a good marketing skill. i tried so hard not to skip the ads, although i'm in a bad time.
Yo Im only 14 but you guys are so amazing I really like suits they make me confident so thank you for this!
Appreciate the support Randy :) Have a great 2018!
I currently own the basic suits you need. I have a Navy Blue, Charcoal, and Light Grey. I am thinking about buying a Navy windowpane suit. What are your thoughts on the windowpane suit, and can you please make a video on this suit style. Thanks
I love floral suits, I have dozens of solids, but I love the floral!! Whats your take on floral suits? Like-if so why? Dislike-if so why?
Regarding watches, I just wear my Omega 300M with everything. Had it on daily for 13 years but it feels right.
Getting my first suit today ❤️
So excited. Thinking to go with charcoal grey
Robert - Good choice!
Absolutely everything I needed to know! As always an excellent video! Thank you very much!
God bless you mate. .. this is one the finest video I have seen in a long time
Super informative! This video deserves way more views.
Awesome, every single episode is so helpful, hope you keep enjoying doing them.
Thank you!
Loves this video I learned soo soo much I’m new to suits and I’m going to purchase on in the future this video is properly educating me
Thnx. Ur Awsm... Love From India 🇮🇳
Appreciate the love - Cheers Ajay from India!
I would like to were suites on my dale básico in the future, this helped me a lot
Really informative and right to the point 🤝
I immediately fell in love with the matte black Bellwether. I bought it with the discount code before the video even ended
Pleasantly detailed. As far as watches I like the navy blue band Vincero.
thank you so much for the suggestion sir could you please tell me as a groom which type of suit is best for Wedding also which type of suit good for Party ?
Lot of information, very helpful. Thank you Sir.
Video is as excellent as ever
It's nice that you've put everything to one video
I've been following you for a long time
Since I started follow you my style has improved greatly
And people even began to react favorably to the way I dress.
I'm an engineering student, and from where I am,people do not dress up.
so it feel very good to be the best dresser in class.
I just start to go to a job interviews so it would be nice if i get a new watch like THE CHRONO S
BLUE/BLACK
Shakked - Super! Have a great 2018.
Noted!
This was a great video with a lot of good information packed into a short amount of time.
This was one of your best videos you nailed it
I think you should add in a new category into your website/videos.
I'll keep that in mind - thanks for the suggestion Justin.
Go to techgents and suggest that :)
Very good video! Well structured and beleavable. You feel trustworthy.
This is not a video. This is a well made documentary on men suiting and its damn good.
Very useful. Thanks Antonio 👍
Hi thanks for the tips I live in Idaho what's the best place to find a tailor that will make it right for you and what about girls suits for a party or wedding
Very great insight Antonio:
Do a video on suits and athletic guys please: guys who lift weights to be exact
Thank you for your video!! I love that you know what you are talking about in every video!! I think your great!! Thank you for helping Jeremy Fragrance!!! 👍👍
Welcome! Appreciate the support.
I was able to get the 3 essential color suits at the local megamall on sale: buy 1 get 2 free. I couldn't pass it up. Got the suits tailored and 3 shirts for over $600.
This guy killed it. So informative wow
Thanks!
Tysm for vital information 👍
I always needed....
My first suit I bought last year its a plain white because I like the look and style of the disco type vibe it gives off. I wear it to whatever i need it for thats not professional but I’m a Teen so I don’t need to look professional for now
Going to be needing this video soon!
:)
I love the Kairos in White and Gold but it's too expensive for me right know. I'd pair it with either my light grey suit or my sky blue suit!
How are you doing Isaac? Didn't expect to see you here on RUclips, but of course if you're in FB you should be here lol
I'm pretty good myself, kinda sick right now though. Yeah I watch like all the videos but I rarely comment since I'm always on Facebook.
